I realize this is a somewhat ambiguous title, so to explain more:
As you get older, it gets more and more embarrassing to not know things like, say, how to do laundry. I for one have many questions that I know if I asked family or friends they would laugh at me. So I figured that I'm probably not alone in this, and what better way to get my questions answered, and get other people's questions answered, than make this thread?
(Do keep these questions forum-friendly, please. =D)
The only two questions I can think of off the top of my head at the moment:
-- What on earth is the point of a loofah? -- What's the difference between soap and body wash, if any?
Someone please help me out, and/or ask your own!

Ooh! Ooh! I know one of these! A loofah is used to exfoliate your skin. It's a little bit rough but not enough to be harmful, so when you wash with one it helps take off dead skin cells. I tried using one for a while, but it didn't seem to do much for me.
As for your other question, I always thought they just called it "body wash" instead of "soap" because that way they could make it more expensive. (Extremely cynical consumer? Me?)

"Body wash" is just a liquid soap.

Plus body wash doesn't leave a gross residue like bar soap. XP *can't use anything but body wash*

"Body wash" is just a liquid soap. Personally, I think it's glorified shampoo, not soap. The soap (at least hand soap...sometimes bar soap too) I use is the kind that sticks pretty dang well to skin and is therefore a little hard to wash off. Body wash isn't like that, but it IS rather like shampoo. As far as I can see, they foam up about the same.

Haha, this is a fun thread. I know I'll prolly wind up making some use out if it, hehe. But don't feel too bad about not knowing how to do laundry. Seems a lot of kids suddenly discover that problem when they go out to college. :3

Neat, I bet I'll learn some interesting things from this thread. x3 When I was little I liked using a loofah because I thought they looked funny. Later I found out that it's better to use them to scrub your skin when it's dry, because a loofah is basically a natural sponge and getting it wet will make it start to collect bacteria. I haven't used one in years, though. I've never used body wash, but if I ever find myself unable to buy non-sticky soap, I'll try it because I can't stand those kinds of soap that stick to the skin.

=D Woot! Thanks everyone! Haha, this is a fun thread. I know I'll prolly wind up making some use out if it, hehe. But don't feel too bad about not knowing how to do laundry. Seems a lot of kids suddenly discover that problem when they go out to college. :3 Yeeah... I'm slightly better now that I've got a year behind me, but since our campus washers have really weird settings (choices are something like colors, dark colors, delicates, and wool. That's it) I still don't feel comfortable using normal washers. Oh and last year I washed everything on cold because that's what my mother said to stick with to stay on the safe side. XD And I second what Marill said-- I've never felt sticky using soap. 0_o I use Dial, for the record. Of course now when I shower tonight I'm probably gonna feel oversensitively sticky just because I've read this. XD

Heh. I'm allergic to soap. Yes. I do bathe, I just have to use no-soap soap.

Heh. I'm allergic to soap. Yes. I do bathe, I just have to use no-soap soap. No-soap soap? I didn't know that existed. XD You learn something new every day. My embarassing grown-up questions are always related to how to get to places. I don't have a bad sense of direction, it's more like I have NO sense of direction at all. XD;; It's a real problem. >_>; It's actually the reason why I haven't learned how to drive. When someone else is driving me, I can always ask if they know how to get places, and then I don't have to worry. ^^; What would the point of driving be if you don't know where to go? I need a GPS or something. XD

I need a GPS or something. XD XD I have no sense of direction either. I have to be led down a route by someone else and make a conscious effort to memorize it in order to ever find my way to that place again. Multiple times I've been an hour late to school events because I got lost. (And inevitably the event was always being held just a few streets down from the school itself.) As I understand it, there are conscious things you can do to improve your sense of direction--making an effort to look around and take note of your surroundings, or stopping every so often to orient yourself (though I'm not sure how you'd do that in a car). I pay more attention to my surroundings when I'm alone than when I'm with someone else. I think the fact that I don't spend a lot of time traveling alone has affected my ability to develop a sense of direction. Then again, I know people who say they always know innately where the cardinal directions are relative to their location, and I don't have that sense at all.

XD Yeah, I always have to get someone to go with me whenever I go anywhere, 'cause else I always worry I'll get hopelessly lost. I should probably work on that...
And I'm sure I could put good use to this thread, since I know I have random questions like this pop up a lot, but I'm not thinking of any at the moment. XD So I'll get back to you on that.
