Ohhh... I remember that was always on The Soup. xD Now it makes sense why "YEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAH" was always randomly popping up throughout the show. o.o
And that is how it was referenced. Thanks, Komori.

Why do web browsers come with a "work offline" option?

Why do web browsers come with a "work offline" option? I think the idea is that it'll show you pages you recently viewed online when you're out of internet range, instead of giving you the "not connected to the internet" thing you would normally get if you were in online mode and not connected.

Yeah, I used to go into offline mode all the time back when I was still on dialup and wasn't allowed to block the phone line. ...Dialup. I can't believe it's been so long.

Yep. I like using offline mode when I'm in the car or something. ^^ I'm not sure what exactly qualifies a page to be able to be used offline, but it's nice to use. I've been able to find stuff for school (such as rubrics from my teachers) that I wanted to work on during a long car ride this way.

Is there a specific term for music that's kind of minor, but has a kind of happiness to it? Like something you'd expect to hear when someone's reminiscing about a childhood memory or something? xD *feels stupid*

Chloe, I wish I knew. I doubt it. *eagerly awaits someone else's answer*
This question doesn't have a real right answer, but anyway: a bunch of buildings on my campus have two doors to get in, for some reason, as if they need an airlock or something. This means that sometimes as I go into buildings, people are holding open two doors for me. I always say "thank you" after people hold a door for me, but I feel awkward saying that two times in a row. Thoughts? XD

XD As a person who tends to hold doors, I'd say you should just say 'Thank you' twice; once for each person. If the people in your campus are anything like those at mine, people actually thanking whoever's holding the door is, while not exactly rare, not the norm. (Personally, I say 'thank you' to anyone holding doors open, whether it's one door or the second of two. It just seems nicer all around.)

I read the question as it being the same person holding both doors open - as in, they are going in the building one after another so the first person holds one door open and then the next. In which case, if they can see your face, I think a nod or smile for the second time would suffice. Otherwise, while saying 'thank you' twice might be more polite, I don't think it's quite necessary if it's to the same person. From my own experience, I don't expect people to say thanks twice in a row to me when I do that, though I suppose it's nice when they do.

I read the question as it being the same person holding both doors open - as in, they are going in the building one after another so the first person holds one door open and then the next. Does that happen often? Every time I've been in a situation where one person holds the door open, I usually go in and wind up holding the second door open for them, since if they hold the first door, I'm automatically the first person to the second door. I've never had it where a person held a door open for me, then rushed past me to open the second one. X3

X3 Well, I run into people who don't stop and hold the door open, but hold open the door behind them as they go through, and they hold it for an extra second so I can get to the door before they're all the way in. And then they'll push it open behind them on the next one. ....That's not a very good explanation, I guess, and it might not really be considered the same thing *shrug* I usually say "thank you" both times, if that person and I are the only ones using the doors. Otherwise, I think it's just accepted practice in a herd, least where I'm at.

What Tiger said is what I meant with the door-holding. XD Thanks everyone. This is an interesting discussion.

Ohhh, okay, I get what you're saying now. Yeah, I forgot about those times. I think those times I wind up saying thanks twice to the same person. But then, every time I've done that for someone, I also get thanked twice.
Speaking of holding doors open, it must be a regional thing, because two friends from NYC got all weirded out at SCAD when everyone would hold doors for them. X3 And my sis visited NYC, held a door open for someone, and got a very confused look from them. XD

NTWF-related random question. According to my diary, on June 18, 2008, we had 2658 members. Today, we appear to have 2267. Did that many people delete their accounts, even taking into consideration all the new ones that were created? If not, how did we lose at least 400 members in two years?

Did that many people delete their accounts, even taking into consideration all the new ones that were created? If not, how did we lose at least 400 members in two years? Occasionally we go through the member list and purge some of the members who registered but never activated their accounts or posted anywhere. That's at least part of the reason why we decreased, though I'm not sure if the purging accounts for all 400 of them.
