Now, The Da Vinci Code on the other hand.... Skip the book. It's not worth its weight in gold. The movie, however, was actually quite good, I felt. ^_^ You're crazy; the movie was god awful. Unless you like thinking, "When is this going to finally be OVER?!" while watching movies. If it wasn't for all the ridiculous controversy surrounding it, I doubt it would have been paid a second glance. It was mediocre, at best.

Unless you like thinking, "When is this going to finally be OVER?!" while watching movies. If it wasn't for all the ridiculous controversy surrounding it, I doubt it would have been paid a second glance. It was mediocre, at best. After having read the book, which was even worse than what you think the movie was, the entirety of the film could've been Robert Langdon saying "burp" and it would've been stupendous. Thus, when I'd been expecting something that bad and it was actually rather bearable and had a couple sequences of really cool visual effects, I liked it a lot. xD No Oscar winner, of course, but it's far superior than the book, that's for certain. Uhm. Can I follow Bianca's lead and put down in italics the books I'm going to be reading v. soon? >> Not all of them; I have tons, but yanno. :3 Of course! Feel free to list whatever you like, just be sure you're clear with what you've read already and what you haven't read yet. We all wouldn't want to think you've won so soon, would we? lol. Gosh, I have bookshelves worth of books I want to read I could put on my list, but I just can't decide which ones to read yet--like whether I should read Storm Front or Seven Deadly, Moonheart or Magic Street--the list goes on and on! I will be reading the rest of the Twilight saga, though, so for now I'm holding off on Ender's Game, Bee Season, and Neverwhere for a while. Unless, you know, I can't resist or something. XD

Well, I just finished reading 'The Time Traveller's Wife' by Audrey Niffenegger, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. To forewarn people, it does involve some profanity and the odd sexual reference (and some being more explicit than others) but it is a wonderful love story, albeit with very peculiar twists. A bit confusing at times, but a very good read. I recommend it.

Okay, so I started reading 'The Weeping Women Hotel' after randomly finding it in the library - the blurb intrigued me. I think it's safe to say that this is a terrible book. I'm already in a chapter and I can't get into it, the character is bland and undeveloped, the plot is... non-existent. I'll be taking it back to the library next week, and I'll be making a start on some Chuck Palahnuik books tomorrow instead.

That's the troubles of randomness.... Sometimes it's great. Sometimes it isn't.
Thus far I've got two options for my W book: a book called Word Myths about popular sayings and such and The Watchmen graphic novel. My sister had to read it for some class in college and it got her hooked on graphic novels and comic books, so I'm intrigued immensely by it, but I've had Word Myths on my shelf for years and really should finally get around to reading it already....
Heh. Maybe I'll just read them both.

It's been ages since I read it, but I still remember how much I liked it because it was so different from the usual love stories. Does anybody else have the problem that all their book titles start with the same letter? I'm reading the books that I still have here at home. Two of them, I got for my birthday, one, my mum gave to me, another one I had preordered on amazon and it finally arrived. Now that I'm looking up their English titles, I realise that all of them begin either with B or with M... I need some more variety!

If you wanted suggestions for W, I'm going to read Wings by Mikhail Kuzmin, which was one of the first books in Germany to deal with homosexuality, and looks to be very interesting :3 I've only read the first few pages though, so uh, I can't really say ^^;

It is in English, though, right? (I can barely read Hebrew books with the vowels--how'd I ever manage German with no more knowledge than eins, zvi, dri?)

Oh yes - I can't read any other language but English XD *hopelessly ignorant* It's a translated version. I'm not sure how widely available it is, since I've only seen it in one shop, and that was only a single copy. But looking, Amazon have it, so there is always that as a last resort XD

(: Well, I just started it, and it's ever so confusing for the first ten or so pages, but after that, it starts to make sense. :3 ...and it's Russian, not German. I just bought a German book that started with a 'w' too, so I get easily confused. ^^;;

Okie, I've started on my Neopian reading challenge for this year. =) I will be reading Kat's "Another Hero's Journey" when I find time. ^^ Seems like a fun read. W00t, I just finished The End by Lemony Snicket. ^_^ I liked the part with being in the dark about ballerinas in the dark. XDDDDD That, and the illustration was so random.
But I really wish I could have seen more of the Quagmire triplets.
Though strangely I felt kinda sad for Kit AND Count Olaf. Even if I was a teeny bit happy when he died; I suppose it makes sense of ASOUE finishes with his death. I completely agree. I was very disappointed that the plotline following the Quagmire triplets was simply... dropped. I wanted a reunion, inevitably ending in tragedy, but still, a reunion. Are you enjoying Angels and Demons so far, Sammy? I've heard mixed reviews for that book. Well, I've only gotten a few pages in so far, but it seems like a good read. My friend absolutely loved it, and he's the same friend I made a bet with on who could finish the Da Vinci Code first in seventh grade. XD Speaking of which, he and I both loved that book, and the movie didn't seem too terrible. Sure, they killed a lot of my favorite parts, and Tom Hanks isn't exactly how I imagine Robert Langdon, but I didn't think it's all that bad. Oh, but there's the Angels and Demons movie coming out soon... I wonder how that'll go. XD
