Are you enjoying Angels and Demons so far, Sammy? I've heard mixed reviews for that book. Well, I've only gotten a few pages in so far, but it seems like a good read. My friend absolutely loved it, and he's the same friend I made a bet with on who could finish the Da Vinci Code first in seventh grade. XD Speaking of which, he and I both loved that book, and the movie didn't seem too terrible. Sure, they killed a lot of my favorite parts, and Tom Hanks isn't exactly how I imagine Robert Langdon, but I didn't think it's all that bad. Oh, but there's the Angels and Demons movie coming out soon... I wonder how that'll go. XD If you loved the Da Vinci Code, I think you'll really like Angels and Demons too. ^^ I read them both, and they're pretty similar in style. (I mean, it only makes sense. XD) The only thing that sort of disappointed me was that by reading them both they kinda lost realism together. I was all "... yeah. I'd believe one, but there's no way the same character can live both epic experiences in the books in one lifetime. XD;" However, I did find it enjoyable, and I hope you do too. ^_^

I will be reading Kat's "Another Hero's Journey" when I find time. ^^ Seems like a fun read. *blinks* You will? XDDDDD I feel strangely flattered. Which one? *SHOT* The most recent one, of course. ^^ Although, if I get lured enough, I may go back and read some of your earlier ones. My real-life book progress: I am now reading Une Tempete by Aime Cesaire, which is a parody of Shakespeare's The Tempest. For my writing class, I am also reading The Idiot by Fyodor Dostoevsky.

Hm, anyone have suggestions for 'O' books? For some reason, I want to tackle that next, but I haven't been able to find anything I'm interested in.

Well, I dunno what you find interesting in a book, so I checked through my bookshelf anyways for "O" books, and all I could find were The Old Man and the Sea, and Of Mice and Men. Both of which I found really boring, though I know some people like them.
Note to self: Go to library to find O book

XD I absolutely loathed The Old Man and the Sea and Of Mice and Men. *is not a very big classics fan* I only read 'em when forced to by the state of California.

The only reason we even own the stupid things is because my sister had to buy them for her english class which required her to write in them...lol

Uhm, I'm going to be reading On Chesil Beach by Ian McEwan for my 'O' book, which is by the same guy who wrote Atonement >> It's about a young couple who get married, and it's much better than I could make it sound XD Read the blurb, or Amazon it, I guess? *is not that great at describing books* Looks to be good, anyway.

Hm, anyone have suggestions for 'O' books? For some reason, I want to tackle that next, but I haven't been able to find anything I'm interested in. I've got "On the Nature of Human Romantic Interaction" by Karl Iagnemma (it's Italian...his name, not the book, xD). It's a collection of short stories about scientists and the human heart. I've read an excerpt, and I'm quite eager to read the whole thing. ^_^ (Doubly so since Karl's a physicist, and I hope to major in Physics as well.)

Let's see, Carrie. From my memory, I've read Oedipus, a play, which I've actually read about five or six times. xDD Let's see, you said you hate classics, but does that include Shakespeare? You might want to try Othello if you do like him. Or there's The Odyssey from Greek mythology.
Um... *flounders* I don't have an excellent memory for titles. ^^;

Hey, I loved Of Mice and Men! It was one of the few books that made me want to cry. Oedipus is a great play, too, very thought-provoking. If you prefer more contemporary fiction, however, I suggest The Orange Girl by Jostein Gaardner. It was very readable for me, and the plot developed quite beautifully toward the end. Basically, a dying father sends a letter many years forward in time to his teenage son, telling him a story about a mysterious orange girl. Anyway, shameless plug on the Neopian reading challenge - if anyone needs to read something starting with a Z, my short story "Zor and the Angel Blob" is in the NT this week.

The Orange Girl is an awesome book! Actually, I have read nearly all books by Jostein Gaardner when I was younger and I loved them all. I can only recommend them to you.
I still need a book for O as well, but it's not something I'm thinking about already. I've got so many books here that I'm going to read first that it'll probably take months before I'm going to search one with O.
What I'm more curious about is if someone has found one with X already. I have no idea which one to get for that letter.

So I just finished re-reading Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palahnuik. :3 Some ~bad~ things, I guess. I do love that book though.

The Odyssey and the entire Oedipus Trilogy are some of my favorite writings ever. ^^
