Imrald just stood there, shattered. She wanted to pick up the pieces and rebuild herself to fight with the drows, but there was a longing to help the slaves.
What am I thinking? She thought. Be loyal!

Kaythar stood there, waiting. He knew it was his duty to fight these people, but he wasn't even sure if what they were doing was wrong. Confusion circulated through his mind.

A drow commander walks up behind Kaythar. "Come on help us!" He charges forward and confronts Chris. Their swords lock.

Kaythar finally made up his mind. "I'll help you," he said.. He ran up behind him. He then tackled and disarmed his own commander. "Well, perhaps I was talking to the human," he said, laying on top of the Drow and holding him down.

The commanders screams, "You'll be hanged for this!" He struggles but can't get free.
Chris blinks than smiles a bit. "Thanks."

"You don't have to thank me," said Kaythar. "Now hurry, rescue the others!" Kaythar used the blunt end of his sword to knock out the commander.

The boy looked at Chris, his eyes vacant of any emotion. "I can't walk." he said, "You will lose your lives if you try to save me." One again he tried to rise to his feet but fell instead. "You all will die unless you have some other means of escape."
Eyes peered out at the battle from the forest's edge, the graceful figures huddled there watched the battle intently, watching the rescue of the boy. By their slim appearance and grace they were obviously Light Elves, the enemy of the Dark Ones, and though most could see nothing significant about the boy they did. He was one of the Royal Line of Hjary, the last of the Royal Line, the last of the only Immortal Line of men, all the others had been senselessly and brutally slaughtered. He was too important to lose.
One by one arrows shot out at the Drow who were defending the slave caravan, with erry accuracy slaughtering the Drow.
A lone Elf, one of their elite, rode on a horse, with typical Elven grace he picked the boy up and placed him on his horse in a single motion. "Follow me." he said to the people who had attacked the caravan to free the boy, waiting only to see them follow him to the forest's edge.

Kaythar stood behind, slipping back into the trees and dissapearing. His place didn't lie with the Drows; his place didn't lie anywhere. He would have to fend for himself for the rest of his life.

The rider stopped a short time after, dismounting his horse and taking him to the Light Elven healer. "Is he going to be all right?" the rider asked the healer.
The healer looked up. "I don't know Thenin, I don't know." he said, his hands began to glow as he touched the boy's body, letting the healing light of the Elves flow through him.
"If he does not survive." Thenin said, "Then all hope is lost. He is the only one that can lead the people and harness the power of his realm."
The healer nodded, "I know." he raised an eyebrow as he looked over Thenin's shoulder, "I believe you have some explaining to do to these people."
"Indeed." Thenin sai turning to face them, "I am Theningwanur." the Elf began, "Rider of the Haven and witness to the War of Hjary."

{Yes. Dark elves or shadow elves are drow. And nice signature.}
Imrald just stood in here, place, disbelief in her eyes. This had never happened before. In all her years, no one had ever escaped the drow.
She stared down, panic filling her eyes as countless drow bodies scattered the land. She felt herself shudder. She would search for the escapers, whether to join them or to kill them she didn't know, but she naturally hated the light elves. She would not let the humans be kept under those awful elves.

Arajay had groaned and rolled her eyes at the elf's mention of "the last hope for the kingdom," but didn't say anything about it. She was a cynic. "Hello, Thenin," she said courteously. Her cat prodded the boy with it's paw curiously.
