"They say there's Imperials on Tatooine? I don't think so." Poalie shakes his head for emphasis as he turns around to face the others.

"I'm still not sure," said Ren. "But I can sort of see now why the Imperials would want to settle there. It's called galactic conquest. I think the Imperials feel that if they don't inhabit every planet with troops, an uprising of rebels could occur on one."

"I've been in Imperial service for nearly my whole life. The only time I heard anything about going to Tatooine was when they lost two important droids there, and that was over a few years ago. The place is a wasteland, not enough people on it to fill a few Cruisers, much less enough battle ready people to fill them"

"Oh yeah, the droids who carried the Death Star plans..." said Ren, remembering what he heard about a few years ago. "Well, I'm gonna check it out just in case. There's not much to do here anyways, and I also just wanna get away from this freezing cold."

Halfway to the door, TK's pointy ears pricked up. She listened to Ren and Poalie's conversation for a moment, then turned around. "I've seen Imperials on Tatooine, several times," TK said to Poalie. "We were, shall I say, 'not on very good terms,' but they made some deals with the Hutts and now they have a few troops stationed there. I suspect something is going on, and," she turned to Ren, "I want to come with you. I'm getting a little tired of being yelled at by the commander all the time, anyway, and Tatooine was sort of our band's stopover point when we needed the three R's: Refuel, Resell (all the stuff we stole), and Relax. So how about it? I think my skills would be more appreciated by you than a cranky Rebel commander."

((*Pokes Keng* Oh, and just so there's no confusion later, Poalie builds ships, and he was part of the team that designed the TIE Intercepter. His current ship is one he made from scratch using parts of various Rebel ships. He calls it the T-Wing Starfighter, and it's one of his best yet. This is a picture of it:  It can go 10 Sublight units STP, that's 2 Sublight Units faster than an X-Wing. It's most unique feature is the primary enigines, located on each wingtip, have the ability to flip over. This should prove useful in unexpected ways, allowing unique manuevers not possible in any other ship.)) ((EDIT: Less than 60 days till the big day! ;D)) |
