Yiran tripped over a rock as she was walking. "Clumsy me..." she muttered angrily as she got back up.
Yiran froze. Was it voices she had just heard? She got back up slowly, and then she was sure. There were people besides her in the woods.
While being as quiet as possible, she walked towards the voices. Hiding in a bush, Yiran looked at who was talking. She decided they didn't seem too dangerous, except for the hooded figure, apparently named Thaine, but if things got bad, she could always run.
Yiran grinned at the thought. She loved running, and was good at it. After a few minutes, she got back up and stepped into the clearing. "Hallo!" she exclaimed cheerfully.

"Enough people?" Lini looked suprised. "Chichi when you are done you should find some more mice." The cat looked up and then went back to eating. Lini took that as a yes. "Would you like some mice?" asked Lini holding out four skinned mice. Then on a second though she put them on a piece of leather she had. "Who ever wants them can eat them." She placed the mice skins in a pouch tied to her belt, then started eating the four mice that were for her. "So do you have a plan or are you going to be mysterious?" She asked Thaine.

"Yes, I know the names of the chosen ones..." said Thaine. "You both were chosen, along with a few others, for a special task. That is why you were drawn to these woods, or why fate had you end up here."

"And what exactly is this 'special task' you speak of?" asked Yiran, not sure whether she should believe this person or not.

This man was a load of junk thought Lini. The whole I know your name becuase you were chosen. The you have greater powers. The special task. It was all stupid. But Lini was going to play along. What harm could it do? "Like Yiran said, what were we chosen to do?"

Thaine threw back his hood. He was an elf with long, dark hair and deep blue eyes. "An evil has arison. It has many names, one of them being Vadek. Vadek and his many minions shall feast on this land, unless you can do something about it."

"Hm...That makes sense, I guess..." said Yiran to herself. She looked at Thaine and asked, "But why choose us? Why me? I mean...I don't have any powers, I'm not too good with a sword or anything else...I'm just about the worst person to choose if you want to fight evil."

Ok This guy was a good lier. She was trying as hard as she could to keep this opinion. But eventually she had to face it. Thaine could be right. She still thought that he was scary. "You want me to fight against some one very powerful?" She paused, "You are jesting." Before I thought that he was trying to steal from me but now I think he is trying to kill me. "The biggest thing I have hurt is a dear. I cannot do this. I thought this might be fun but getting KILLED is not fun! Your joke is not funny! I'm leaving." But as she was talking the fire had been growing and at this point it grew huge and lept over the circle of rocks around it, and touching the pine neadles. Lini's plans were stopped and she turned around to help stomp out the fire.

Yiran helped put the fire out. "That was...fairly strange." she commented. "As for the whole us-being-chosen-to-defeat-evil thing...I don't think anybody would be lifeless enough to make such a big story up. And it could be fun...who says we'll get killed?"

"I am.... Lifeless enough, you could say. I have died once..." Thaine shook his head. "This is not a trick," he said. "I'm sorry this couldn't have been later, when Yiran was more mature and Lini realized her powers, but Vadek came sooner than I had hoped."

"OK I belive you." Lini didn't quite belive him but was ready to play along again. Even if it did mean fighing a powerfull enemy. "What are these powers of mine and can you tell me more about this enemy?"

Thaine shook his head again. "It would be unfair to tell you about your powers. You have to discover them yourself. Vadek is a wiked being with many minions. He-" Suddenly, a cloud appeard and sucked Thaine inside. The cloud formed into the shape of a mouth. It spoke. "Thaine was a fool."
