"You'll figure out why I made the connection between my focused energy and your own power, once I start the summoning," Cat Assassin smiled for a brief moment before looking back at the scroll. It was then that he began to chant with a powerful voice. Souls of two entwined to one, This bracer must call upon you. As my soul bound to his soul at once, The connection let through! The thread around the scroll untangled themselves to reveal the contents of the scroll. A magical white light bursted out and exploded into the color spectrum, filling the room with an almost blinding phenomenom. "Get ready, PFA," he called out to his niece, even though he could not see her through the light. "They are coming." As the light began to disperse, three men donning black cloaks emerged from the portal that appeared behind them. "We're back, Cat Assassin," were the evil remarks that came from them. "Good timing, you three. I was about to kick your sorry butts, but I'll let my niece do that instead. Right... PFA?" The one in the middle pointed out at Cat Assassin. "You fool! Letting us consume this puny soul will only strengthen us," he exclaimed before finally putting his finger at PFA. "We will gladly do that before we finally get yours, cat!" The other two summoned out their scythes, the blades enchanted with the most negative energy from the Underworld. They then proceeded to charge towards PFA. Cat Assassin looked at PFA. "Don't you worry. I did say your katana won't work, but it's only because you can't enchant it with the light energy in the real world... But as long as the scroll is open, you'll realize your powers are easier to control. Now get to it!"

((I should explain the magic I'm about to do, because it'll effect a few of you. The fire sphere is a special type of selective enchantment that flows through solid objects and will keep expanding for as long as the enchanter who casts it can sustain it, given that the surface area is constantly growing and requiring more energy. Its discrimination factor is worked into the enchantment, in this case, its the protection of Mage Manor which Sarn has worked into it. Thus, every living thing the fire passes through will be judged by that intention. If you are indifferent to the cause, the fire will simply pass through you. If it detects that your character wishes to destroy Mage Manor, it will do its best to destroy your body, and if it detects that you would protect Mage Manor, it will cover you in a fiery shell which will fade after a couple of seconds, but which will protect you from any further fire magic that might otherwise harm you. It does not interfere with other types of magic.))
Sarn had heard them, even caught glimpses of them, but that didn't stop him jumping when one of the men spoke. He stepped forward on the lawn and smiled wickedly at them. Something foul and tainted hindered the Star Dance as the man got closer.
"Ahh, welcome," the man bowed in an insincere gesture "I must warn you not to get close to the Manor. It's... in our way."
"In... in your... what?" he repeated, completely confused and distrusting. He looked around quickly with his sharp purple eyes. Sarn always saw things much clearer in the dark, and he was able to pick out the figures of three, maybe four other men all moving around in the shadows before the manor.
There was nothing about any of them that made him trust them, and everything about them that made him fear and hate them. They were blotting out the beauty of the Star Dance, the melody from which he drew his enchanter powers, and he would not stand for it.
Summoning all his willpower, he gathered a thought and threw it to Ginz, hoping she had the ability to hear telepathic thoughts. Run to the manor, warn the others, I'll stay and distract them.
Without checking to see that Ginz had heard and understood, Sarn opened his mouth and began to sing those songs which none but enchanters could hear. After a few motes, he faltered, feeling the drain of power from the stars, but he had to continue at all costs. He tried again, spreading his wings and arms wide and singing silently to the night.
After a few seconds, streams of ethereal fire began to flow from his palms and twist around his hands, growing in intensity with every new note he sang. Then, when he had built up enough energy, the gathered his hands together and raised them high above his head, throwing out a spherical wall of vicious flames to engulf his enemies, and protect his friends.
It spread swiftly outward, passing through the walls of Mage Manor without breaking, covering the mages with a skin of smoldering protection. Sarn kept his clasped hands raised until he was sure that the wall of expanding fire had passed beyond the borders of the manor, kept it going as long as he could, and then, not knowing if his attack had been successful, he lowered his hands, let the music and the fire fade, and then collapsed in exhaustion, sprawled on the lawn in front of his home.

((I need to start checking this more often. >>; ))
Flying had been an amazing feeling for Ginz. Up there in the sky there seemed to be no limits, no worries. But as soon as they hit ground, she sensed something was wrong. Usually Mage Manor represented protection and comfort for her, but today all she could sense was a dark presence, so unlike the manor's homely feel.
Then she saw them. Strangers surrounded mage manor, and by the look of them, they weren't friendly.
"Ahh, welcome," said one of them as he politely bowed. "I must warn you not to get close to the Manor. It's... in our way."
Ginz didn't completely understand what he had just said, but she instantly knew it meant trouble. Confused and scared, she glanced at Sarn to see if he had a plan.
Their eyes only met for a second, but that was all it took for Ginz to know exactly what to do. She was definitely not able to read minds, but her heightened sense of empathy allowed her to read Sarn's expression, almost like a book. It was of utmost importance to warn the others, and so she would.
Sarn started to sing, and she took that as her cue. Nimble as she was, she started running toward the entrance of the manor, without looking back. A moment later, she felt as though flames erupted around her body. She gasped, surprised, but she kept running. There wasn't a moment to lose.
"Anybody here?!" she shouted as soon as she entered the manor.
Adrenaline was so high in her body, she felt as though all her senses were heightened. She thought she heard something in the kitchen, so she ran there directly and found a couple of her friends.
"Omni! Hunter!" she exclaimed, panting. She hardly had had time to catch her breath. "There's no time for the full story now, but the manor is in danger!"

((What if a mage was having a really bad day and was imagining destroying the manor at that very moment? Just a random thought.))
Dragus keeps moving, slower than earlier since he didn't want to find out what the manors defense system was. As he gets closer to the manor, he noticed what looked to him a wall of fire coming right at him. He quickly turns around and starts to run away.
"Wall of fire coming right at me! Not good! If this is how they greet people, I would hate to be a salesmen!"
As he runs he trips and the fire flows over him.
----
Draco draws near to the manor, his chasing slowed down with more traps along the way.
"Traps, a ninja's best friend when being chased. To bad they take to long to put up. It's all ready morning!"
He stares at the bright light that resembles the sun coming from the manor. Than he looks up in the sky.
"Wait, that's not the sun. I have to get moving. I'm missing the action!"
He continues to in the direction of the manor.

Vincent was laughing when the man in front of him was surprised by what he had just said. It was a maniacal laughter that drowned the night in total fear and frustration. The sack he was holding began to shine once more, and the sound it was emitting was louder than ever. For the first time, he himself could feel the power emanating from the object inside.
"Yes! YES! The POWER! IT'S FLOWING INSIDE ME!"
------------------------------------------------
Something invisible caught Vyt's body by force, and immediately he stumbled under the magnificent power. The time he saw Vincent exclaim his discovery, even he could feel himself being empowered for some reason.
"W-w-what is this?" Vyt shakily announced as he felt his limbs shaking. "W-w-why am I feeling so... powerful?"
Vyt screamed towards Dragus, hoping to get his attention. "Take me away from Vincent, please! Whatever he's holding is messing with my head!"
------------------------------------------------
Vincent's mind had finally turned corrupt. He could not believe a simple miner like him could even attain any power at all. Now that he was with the object inside his sack, he could grasp the power he'd always wanted.
With a wave of his hand, Vincent emerged with a dark aura around his whole body, and so were his own men. As the walls of fire approached him and his men with the intent of engulfing their own bodies, he performed another wave from his hand before the flame could swallow them whole.
Seconds later, Vincent and his men reappeared, seemingly unharmed by the flame. Black smoke emerged from their bodies, though it was a kind of smoke no one else had seen before. It was expanding all over the Manor, its black color even stronger than the night itself.
"YOU ARE TRYING MY PATIENCE, BOY..." Vincent warned him. His voice was completely different from the last time. It was low, even ominous.

Sarn lay sprawled on the soft earth, pushing himself up by one shaking arm while using the other the shade his burning eyes. He watched in utter horror as the man who had spoken earlier waved his hand. The group disappeared and then reappeared, untouched by the flames that had taken such effort to create. Sarn's exhausted arm gave way beneath him and he slumped even further onto the ground.
"What... what are you?" he breathed, unable to keep the fear from his wavering voice. He saw the horrid black smoke, denser than darkness itself, almost solid, spreading over the Manor and its grounds and heard the voice of one who was not human.
It was a harsh voice, a deep and rasping voice that could not have come from any of the men Sarn had seen. He thought his eyes were fooling him when he saw the leader of the men moving his lips in time with the voice. The smoke engulfed Sarn, blotting out his vision as he lay weakly. The only light he could see was the glowing sack clutched in the leader's arms.
"YOU ARE TRYING MY PATIENCE, BOY..." Sarn heard the voice and couldn't help but tremble as it swept over him. Fear gave him strength and he raised himself up, stumbling in the thick black smoke, hoping dearly that he was heading in the direction of the manor, praying that another mage would find him...

The sound of Vyt caused Dragus to look up and notice he wasn't engulfed in flames. Once he saw Vyt he knew what to do. He quickly got to his feet and ran over to Vyt.
"I'll try my best to get you out of here, hold on."
He lifts Vyt, slings him over his shoulder, and runs in the opposite direction from the manor. Unsure when to stop, he kept running until he felt it was safe or Vyt said he was safe. While running a dark figure leaps past him and they both look each other in the eyes. Thinking to himself only one name came to mind, "Draco..."
Draco flies past Dragus and Vyt, looking into Dragus' eyes. He gives a small smirk as he dashes past his cousin, unsheathing his katana Kage~Ryu. He slides to a halt when he see's Vincent.
"I was not expecting this."

Shoi shook his head. "No, this is not a realm of the dead, and I am not a spirit from any such place. This is the plane of Spirit, the other side of the mortal world. The realms of the dead - and there are many - are accessible from here, but it is not something I deal with on a regular basis. I am just a man with certain knowledges and skills, and I can manipulate spiritual energy and the connection between the twin planes of the mortal world. I can "fuse" my physical body with its spiritual aspect and then manifest in either the spiritual or physical plane; I can also extend that effect to you, and I have done so.""
In the distance before Shoi and Rayce a strange sparkling silver cloud rushed along the ground before them, quickly expanding outwards in a spherical manner. Shoi's eyes widened suddenly. "That... is flame?" He dashed forward, finally seeing Vyt's shifting spiritual form as well as that of Draco and others that he didn't recognize. The cloud of flame-spirit washed past Shoi and Rayce, obscuring their vision momentarily.
"When this clears, we will return to the physical world." Shoi stood still and closed his eyes, focusing himself. "Prepare yourself, there may well be trouble awaiting us!"

((Ninja Dojo, Training Room--sorta))
PFA, despite Uncle being completely confident in her ability to take on these strange cloaked beings, promptly began to panic. What am I supposed to do? I don't know any offensive magic...!
"Don't you worry," came Uncle's reassuring voice. "I did say your katana won't work, but it's only because you can't enchant it with the light energy in the real world... But as long as the scroll is open, you'll realize your powers are easier to control. Now get to it!"
As these words registered in her mind, PFA started thinking as fast as she could. Enchant her katana with Light energy? How was she supposed to do that?
She leapt out of the way of the cloaked beings' scythes as an idea started to form in her head. It was a crazy one; something she'd never have thought she could do. However, her Uncle's words had her believe that it just might work...
PFA unsheathed her katana, then held a hand over it and began to concentrate. Thankfully, as Uncle had said, it didn't take as much concentration as it did normally before her hand started to glow with magic. She then used the same magic she normally used to give someone a temporary strength boost, but this time on her katana. She had never tried doing this with an inanimate object, but it was the best shot she had at this point.
Much to her relief, it did indeed seem to work, as her katana was soon glowing with magic. With a smirk, and the passing thought pondering whether she would be able to do this if it weren't for the scroll, she took up a fighting stance and prepared herself to counter the next advancement from the cloaked beings.

"Good," Cat Assassin watched as his niece finally was able to enchant her weapon with her own energy. "You might be wondering why I know this, but I'll let your parents tell you why. In the meantime, we have these three stooges to take care of."
"You mongrel!" shouted the one still avoiding action. "You will be sorry that you ridicule our presence-"
"Oh, c'mon," the cat interrupted. "It's always been the same, beating you up without any problem."
It was then that Cat Assassin's aura began to magnify two-fold. The energy in his hands were twice as big; even the core of his focused energy started to emit a buzzing sound. He knew all along it was because of the scroll's presence and he was glad to be able to grasp such power, even just temporarily.
"As long as I exist, you will not be able to hold Vyt and Subila in their own worlds."
He began to charge towards the one he was talking to, prompting the other two to turn around and meet him. The cat smiled; he wanted to distract them away from PFA.
"Now's your chance! Smite at them!"
-------------------------------------------------
"I..." Vyt began to shake quite badly. It had already taken effect on him, still pressuring his mind and body. He could not force himself to stop. Something was controlling him.
"I..." Vyt tried to speak, but his voice was starting to change. It lowered down tone-wise in an instant.
"I'm SORRY..."
Without any hesitation, Vyt unsheathed his claws from his hands, as he aimed for Dragus' face.
-------------------------------------------------
Vincent, if he was still the man Vyt had met from the tavern earlier, looked at the winged man as he descended from the sky, fatigued and amazed. The helplessness present from his face was making him chuckle. He had never felt so pleasured by just watching someone's agony while he retreated to the Manor.
The sack's glow began to weaken, though for reasons still unexplained by anyone but Vincent. He learned why it had to succumb to the darkness enveloped by the thick black smoke that emerged from their bodies.
His original voice had never returned. "SO... DRAINING THE POWERS OF THE MANOR? SOUNDS BRILLIANT..."
Vincent began to murmur words to start his draining ritual, all taught in an instant by the object in the sack. His men were uttering the exact words.
((Of course, the ritual will also drain out whoever's inside.))

Dragus' eyes grow wide at seeing the claw come at his face. For a split second he thinks of using a shadow to stop Vyt's arm, but decides it may not work on him in this condition. Instead he comes up with another idea. He quickly tosses him to the side, moving his head with the claw. When Vyt is clear from him, a thin line of blood forms across Dragus' face.
"Any closer and I would have had a new look..."
He wipes his face with the back of his hand, and stares at Vyt waiting to see what he will do next.
---
Draco is unsure how to handle this situation. A home for mages being trained of power and given to this unknown thing didn't sound very good. He readies a kunai as a test, and channels some shadow energy into it. He charges in the direction of Vincent and throws the shadow charged kunai at the sack he holds. His sword than begins to glow with a black aura as it to begins to be charged with energy.

All too suddenly, out of nowhere, flame passed through the kitchen. However, Omni's shield didn't activate, and she soon found herself surrounded by flames, but they didn't hurt.
Fola, however seemed unaffected. "Ah! You're on fire!"
"Yeah, I know," Omni replied without really thinking. "It feels like it was cast by Sarn... but I don't know what it's supposed to do." The flame seemed to fade just as she finished speaking.
"Omni! Hunter!" Ginz suddenly burst into the room, breathing heavily. "There's no time for the full story now, but the manor is in danger!"
Why am I not surprised? Omni thought sarcastically.
She ran out the door and used the Manor's magic (again) to teleport to the nearest window. Dark already? Time in this place is crazy. She saw a dark mist, the aura of which was very strange. She saw men standing outside the Manor with a glowing sack; something which immediately stirred her curiosity. They began chanting something she couldn't quite make out.
Suddenly, she began to feel her energy slowly wane. The Manor's aura seemed to be affected, too, but that may have just been due to her own growing weaker. The spell even reached the crystal hung around her neck, and began to tap into its great energy reserves.
Without permission.
The Crystal began to glow an angry red, and suddenly pulse of energy traveled across the spell, speeding toward the men and entering them.
((Explanation: Omni's crystal has a little bit of a mind of its own. It's attuned specifically to Omni and it thinks of her as a sort of 'master.' It can tell who's trying to access the energy it has stored, and won't let them unless Omni lets it know they have permission [by the way, she can't tell it unless she's, say, touching it]. If someone tries to access it without permission, it creates a sort of feedback pulse and sends it into them. It doesn't harm them, but it will briefly disrupt their aura, and thus anything related to controlling energy. The sensation is similar to a spark of static electricity, but it's spread out much farther.))

Knowing that he was about to be thrown aside, Vyt tried to regain his composure in mid-air. The result was a success, as his two legs were able to implant themselves to the ground fast enough to stop his fall.
Vyt's head began to sway from side to side, his red eyes looking blankly at Dragus. When he opened his mouth, a different kind of voice was heard from him.
"HE WILL BE SUMMONED, AND THERE'S NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT."
Immediately, Vyt began rushing towards Dragus with both hands extracting their claws.
----------------------------------------
Vincent's hand that grasped the sack shook violently, losing grip of his precious object. The chant that went across his men was broken due to the sudden interruption, forcing them to stop abruptly. They stood there, motionless.
It was then that something fast almost ripped Vincent's cheek off, revealing a thin line of blood. "WHO GOES THERE?!" he angrily said as he turned towards the opposite direction. His eyes met a ninja wielding his katana of some sort.
The spell earlier might've stopped his men, but Vincent had too much contact with the sack. He himself had absorbed the power, and thus could still fight on. "YOU'RE ONLY DELAYING THE INEVITABLE," he shouted towards the ninja. Waving his hand, he began to concentrate the black smoke around the ninja's feet, slowly turning solid.
