(( Organizational post ))
Locations of characters:
Vincent, Oni (inside castle, back side, heading to central courtyard)
Shoi, Vyt, Cat Assassin and PFA (front wall of castle away from gate, Shoi inside, others outside)
Dr. Lupe (following Shoi's gang in wolf form, specific location unknown)
Omni, Aly and Lika (inside castle entrance, having barged in)
Hunter (presumably outside castle entrance, uncertain if he barged in after Omni, Aly and Lika)
Cyborg, Rose, Esme, Rayce, Dragus (inside castle, heading to see King Kabe)
Draco (inside castle, heading towards Shoi's gang) NOTE: You don't see three of us. I changed my post regarding the wall crossover; you only see Shoi. furthermore, I don't know if PFA is going to climb over the wall and Vyt and CA are presumably not coming over.
Sarn (vanished while flying to castle, location unknown)
FYI: Vincent and the Oni will be making their next move tomorrow at some point. I want to wait until then to give people time to post things beforehand, but their next move will definitely give some plot fodder ^_^

((>Cyborg - I joined right after your last RP post I've been trying to keep Dragus somewhat close since it's the biggest Knight group so far. >Shoi - I think I was commenting about Omni's group and not yours ^^; ))

((Also, Ro's with Aly and the rest.))
[Aly.] Lika ran up to the young mage in bounds, both slowing down once they'd gotten to an intersection of corridors. The Felyr didn't seem at all out of breath. [Can you sense where the enemy is?]
"Yeah, a lit--" She stopped abruptly. "What the...no, I can't anymore."
"Oi, Aly!" Ro called, eyes glittering dangerously in a tumble of crystal blues and greens. Even more worrying was that she'd unsheathed her sword. "What are you doing? You are not a knight!"
"Well, yeah, but it's important! Muy importante!"
Ro only glared in response. "Don't mock me," she snapped shortly. "If there is something important, the Knights can deal with it."
"Like Knights can deal with something with that much dark magic!"
The knight snorted. "And you can do better?"
[I can't sense it,] Lika said, breaking into the conversation. She looked back towards where Omni was. [Can you? I have an uneasy feeling, but I cannot find any direction.]
"Well, yeah, but what would they be targeting?" Aly added. A hand reached for a dagger at her hip. And why can't I sense anything now? Does it just come and go?

Draco runs down the dark hall and makes a turn to the castle entrance hall. He stops and slowly steps into the room looking down some stairs to see who just barged into the castle. He couldn't really tell who the people were, but he knew enough that they weren't Vincent and his remaining men. He sat down on the stairs and waited for the group to finish their conversation, that way he could gather a little information on them and not interrupt them at the same time.

After listening to the other two, Omni closed her eyes and focused. Her crystal glowed as she expanded her aura around herself, somewhat, 'feeling' more of the area around her. "I can feel it, faintly, but like you said, it's hard to tell from where." She opened her eyes and her aura returned to normal. "I've felt auras from far away before, but even then I could feel where it was coming from. This feels a bit more like the Manor... like it's surrounding us, rather than just emanating to us.
"That's kinda weird, though, because normally, even when something extends its aura, it feels like it's coming from a specific direction. Then again, they did take the Manor's energy. Maybe they're using it to temporarily possess the castle?"

Draco stands up and begins to walk down the stairs after hearing the last comment.
"A possessed castle. That I would like to see someday, however now wouldn't be time."
He stops and thinks for a moment before continuing.
"In fact, how could a castle be possessed? Well, no matter. A group is on their way to see the king as we speak, and none of us have seen any sign of that Vincent guy yet."
Draco stops at the bottom of the stairs now and sits down on the steps.

Rose, Cyborg Esme, Rayce, and the following persons reached the door to the King's chamber. " Okay, Cyborg, Esme, I ask you to stay out here to guard. I will go inside with the other gentlemen that was following us." Rose stated opening the door, and gesturing for Dragus to enter.
--------------------------
Midknight continued walking until he found someone, looked like a ninja, sitting on the steps. Midknight snuck up behind him in shadow form, and reverted to human form when he was directly infront of the man. " Who are you, and why are you here?"

Nodding slowly and with certainty, Vincent nodded to the air in front of him. He could feel a strange, cold sensation creeping up his spine, and then a flush of both icy and fiery power. Thick, black smoke poured out of the sack at his side, surrounding and encasing him, trailing in spirals around his arms and then reaching to cover the rest of his body. Rapt with unnatural purpose, he strode forward and waved his open left palm at the door in front of him; it exploded as a rush of the black smoke impacted it like a wall of iron. Grinning with both mirth and malice, he continued forward to the courtyard at the end of the hall, a large stone statue out in the center coming fully into view as he approached it.
Coming out into the cool night air, the guards didn't immediately notice him. They also didn't notice him raise his arms and rise into the air on a column of twisting black smoke, nor did they see him wrap ropelike tendrils of that same smoke around the statue, pulsing and grinding their way into every crack the statue had.
When the statue suddenly exploded into a shower of razor-sharp shards, however, the guards couldn't help but notice - and their wails and shrieks made it all too clear just how painful a revelation it was.
Vincent laughed loudly, exulting in the ease with which he had torn the solid stone statue to shreds, and gritted his teeth with the glory and rage that he felt surging inside him. He summoned two tendrils from each hand and whipped them around him in a wide circle; wherever they struck they tore grooves and sundered stone, metal and wood alike. The destruction invigorated him, made him stronger, and all he could think of was how very, very lucky he was, and much luckier he would surely be scant moments from now. Even had he a mirror, he wouldn't have thought ill of how his eyes were now glowing speckled-grey, nor how his skin was becoming ashen. All he could think of was that tomb before him, and what he wanted from it - a sword and suit of armor destined to be his...
... and at his side, on the spirit plane, the Oni writhed as it feasted on the last bits of Vincent's soul, eyeing the void that remained there within the tangled knot of its own tendrils.
[Everyone would have heard the statue exploding, and guards are staggering out of the courtyard in all directions]
-----------------------------------------------
Just as he was finishing securing his rope to a torch sconce, Shoi heard a massive shattering crash come from within the castle. Raising his head in alarm, he shouted out to his guildmates. "PFA! Vyt! Get a move on! I've got to head into the castle and deal with this *now*!"
With that, a silver line of essence rippled down Shoi's body from head to toe, transforming him into battle form in its wake as he charged directly through the main corridor towards the core of the castle, passing Midknight and Draco as he did.

Dragus nods his head and follows Rose. Keeping his voice low for Rose to hear he makes a small comment.
"Heh, I was suppose to come here earlier in the day before all this trouble started. In the end, I still made it I guess."
----
Much like Midknight had just done, Draco disappears into a shadow and appears behind Midknight.
"Draco of the Ninjas. I came in here with Dragus, a knight. I decided I didn't want to see the King and excused myself without telling anyone. I saw a small commotion outside a window and came down to investigate. I found this group, who I was just starting to talk to."
The sound of a shattering statue is heard.
"Sure is noisy around here, isn't it."

Aly was surprised at the strangers that had seemingly popped out of nowhere, and was even more surprised that she hadn't noticed them being there first, considering that showing up and giving a wry one-liner or inquiry was usually her job. But that surprise was shoved back in her mind as she heard a devastating cacophony of noise. "Sra," she muttered under her breath. "I think we found the enemy."
Lika leapt after the sprinting mage, Ro giving a disdainful "tch" and quickly pursuing with her sword in hand. She hadn't been at Castle Kestrel nearly as long as the other knights, but she wasn't about to let her cousin save it.
"Sra!" The shout came from Aly as she slid to a halt, eying injured guards with gritted teeth. "The njahk...they're paying."
[Aly, careful. You have no idea what will happen.]
"Then I'll attack the best way I can." Aly took her bow and stood at an entrance to the courtyard, taking a second to look for a target. Shoot first, ask questions later. She found the humanoid figure above the statute, aimed, and loosed. The arrow's obsidian head was soon covered in blood-red flame mid-flight, followed by two more of the same shots in quick succession. A tendril arced towards her, and she jumped back in avoidance. "I don't miss," the mage muttered under her breath.
"<Idiot>," Ro countered, coming up behind. What was this thing?

Sometime after Omni stated her theories, she heard footsteps nearby. She looked over to find a Knight on the stairs.
"A possessed castle. That I would like to see someday, however now wouldn't be time." He paused, thinking about this. "In fact, how could a castle be possessed?"
"I don't know," Omni replied. "I'm just throwing out ideas."
"Well, no matter. A group is on their way to see the king as we speak, and none of us have seen any sign of that Vincent guy yet."
Shortly afterward, there was an explosion nearby, and people in armor ran, frightened. Aly ran off toward the sound of the explosion. Omni paused for a moment, then decided to follow, thinking maybe they'd find something leading to the sack.
She wasn't sure what she was expecting, but somehow, the tentacles whipping around the courtyard weren't really surprising to her. Aly had already begun shooting flaming arrows at it. Omni considered trying another element, just in case it happened to be stronger against the tendrils. However, she was still learning ice magic, still didn't know lightning, she didn't know how to propel the rocks she made, and couldn't make anything even remotely lethal with water, light, darkness, or air at the time. The one the tentacles were coming from was out of the range she needed to surround him with ice or hit him on the head with a rock, and coming closer would put her at risk of getting hit. That left fireballs and iffy-ice. She paused, wondering which of the two to pick. After pondering for a second, she formed several pieces of ice that resembled small icicles, hurtling them toward the man.

Releasing the column of black smoke beneath him, Vincent dropped heavily to the ground in a crouched position. The smoke swirled around him as a dark miasma, coalescing into ever-moving spikes and tentacles extending from his back and arms. His eyes fixated on the open stairwell curling down below the center of the courtyard, he appeared to not hear the soft *twang* of Aly's bow behind him, but the tentacles waving behind him reacted immediately. Darting forward like snakes, the three tentacles expertly plucked the arrows out of the air in mid-flight, although he flames that burst forth from the arrowheads a moment later were not so well handled. An acrid smell flooded the area as the seared tentacles dropped the arrows and thrashed against the ground, seemingly in an attempt to put out the flames upon them, and Vincent then abruptly turned around.
Eying Aly as she lowered her bow, Vincent growled. "I DON'T APPRECIATE BEING SHOT AT." Throwing his left arm forward and out, a huge tendril coalesced behind Vincent's back and hurtled towards the ground at Aly's feet. As this was happening, several small icicles struck Vincent in the chest, shattering upon impact. Appearing to be stunned momentarily by this, the huge tendril went wide by several feet but still struck the ground with immense force, sending shattered flagstones and dirt spraying in all directions. Through gritted teeth, Vincent brushed broken ice shards off his chest, revealing slowly bleeding wounds. With a loud scream of rage, the residual miasma of smoke around him immediately collapsed against his skin, turning it jet black and obscuring his injuries. Two of the tendrils around him then tore up flagstones and hurled them at Omni.
-------------------------------------
Shoi charged into the courtyard just as the huge tendril shattered the ground near Aly. Reacting without thought, he made a hard dive at Aly, shielding her from the majority of the flying debris and pulling her clear of the tendril as it lifted up once more. Springing to his feet, his eyes flared with silver flames as he assessed the monstrosity writhing before him, bits of rock falling from his back as their impact holes quickly closed up.

((Note for anyone interested: pynsyra is 'fire storm'. It's an incredibly strong blaze that can stand on its own, and the heat and intensity of the flames are deadly to many things, even other fire mages (who are resistant to heat). Of course, that also means that it takes a ton of energy to sustain for even short times. It usually wipes the user out for at least two, three days or so, more if they don't have much energy to draw on.))
Aly stepped back when the...creature caught her arrows, though the tendril's wild crash was fast and unexpected. She moved to dodge and minimize the damage she'd take, but someone else seemed to take the debris for her and pull her aside. He was unfamiliar to her, but she wasn't going to complain. "Thanks," she said quickly as she got up and brushed off what little had fallen on her.
What to do? Fire seemed to work against the enemy, and she definitely had a good reserve of energy built up. On the other hand, she doubted she could create a pynsyra with other people around. She would be fine with the heat if she stayed far away enough, and Lika too, but given how hot the flames could go...
Not to mention, that kind of heat might make the castle walls collapse. Dangit, what to do...
Another figure suddenly rushed past her, and she saw a brief glint of silver as a blade arced towards one of the airborne flagstones. The figure ignored the rest and moved past into the room, a sliver of silver trying to cut at a dark tendril. "Ro!" And she thinks I'm being the idiot? "Ah, geez...Lika?"
[Here.]
"Stay close." Sitting against the wall, a little removed from the doorway, she poured a good handful of grey powder from a pouch at her waist into a cloth and wrapped it tightly with twine, fixing it to an arrow. "Not as good as pynsyra, but still..."
