Tanaei whirled on him. She was now down on all four of her talons, her dark, black-barred wings spread wide. He gem was fading slowly from green to red.
"You'll not touch me with that thing!" she yelled, and a predatory screech, as if from the throat of a bird of prey, tore from her mouth. She flung herself at Jan, talons flashing.

"Aaah!" Jan shouted. He randomly flung his sword to defend himself. Roots rose from the ground once again, headed towards Tanaei.
Meanwhile, Togo was waking up.
"Wh... What happened?" He felt the white gem on his forehead.
"Why do I feel so drained?"
He walked up to the unconscious Jade. His white gem started to glow, and little balls of light wandered to her gem.
"That should help..."
Togo was now calm and relaxed, more than ever.
He looked to the side and saw the fight going on.

Tanaei saw the roots and lept upward, taking flight. Letting loose another piercing shriek, she dove toward Jan, talons outstretched. As the wind from the dive blew her dark hair away from her face, the gem in her forehead showed, glowing a burning red.
She was more hawk than human by now... and the only thing she had her mind focused on as she hurtled toward the boy was defending herself from that sword he held in his hand.

Jade's eyes slowly fluttered open. She was about to ask what happened when she saw the rips on her vest's sleeve. She sighed. I don't even know why I did that. I just felt the urge to block that attack... she looked around to find the sword-boy fighting with some sort of eagle-person. She got back up and noticed the dog-boy. Instantly she stumbled backwards. The fight with him was still a little blurry, but she still remembered that he hadn taken out his dagger on her, and if it wasn't for the sword boy summoning his roots, she would've gotten some nasty cuts. Again, that little voice inside told her she should do something for the sword boy. Oh, just shut up and leave me alone! I already took the cat-girl's attack for him.

Tanaei continued her dive at the sword boy... ((Ohhhhh Chesire.... you need to po-ost before I can do anything else... ^_~))

Jan was flinching and flailing his sword at Tanaei. He remembered to yell "SETTLE" and all he had to do is touch her gem with the sword. A ring of power came out from it. It pulled towards her head.

((Yay...RPing alone is fun...*coughcough*))
Jade watched, leaning against a tree. He did that to the dog-boy, too. Maybe he was speaking the truth. maybe he didn't want to hurt me after all. But...then again, the dog-boy fell unconscious, and from what it seems, Sword-Boy did it to the cat-girl too, with the same results. And the dog-boy's way of acting's changed a lot...he's calm now. If such a dramatic change of personality occurs when the sword touches a gem, I don't want to go near it. Ever. But...maybe it's for the better...
She kept on thinking about this, unable to decide if the sword-boy's intentions were good or not.

Tanaei saw as the sword came to her, and heard the boy yell. She prepared to make the fatal move with her murderous talons.
But as the boy yelled, suddenly her vision began to blur and darken. A feeling of peace suddenly came over her, and the last thing she found herself thinking was that she should apologize to the boy for attacking him. Then her wings folded and she dropped from the air onto the ground. As she lay there, the gem embedded on her forehead faded from blazing red to a soft, cool blue.

((*fears for the life of the RP*))
Shaking her head and sitting up, Tanaei looked around. Her unusually bright golden eyes were cloudy, but a good round of blinking cured that.
She groaned. "I have about a million questions I could ask you right now, but right now I think I could sum them up in one: What is going on??"
She wiggled her fingers and toes, and noticed with some mixed feelings that they were still lethal, dark talons. Tanaei was unquestionably glad, however, that her wings remained.

"I'd like to ask the same thing." Jade muttered, still leaning on the tree with her arms crossed. "And why you want to point that sword to everybody who has a gem on their forehead."

"Gem?"
Tanaei reached up and felt her forehead.
"Ah, dear me... this complicates things furthur... yes, but why DO you feel the need to point your sharp object at everyone?"

Brandon walked through the forest, his forest, using the staff he always carried as a walking staff. Not that he needed it. Just to warn any animals he had a stick to hit them with.
Touching again the gem on his forehead, he shook his head and sighed. He did not know nor care where these powers were from or why. All he knew was he had them, and he could use them.
Oh, how he could use them.
Abruptly he walked into a clearing and into the middle of a fight, apparently ending.
With a start, he jumped back and hid behind the tree. The one the girl was on.
Peering around, he saw he was still ignored, so he came up to the girl who was leaning against the tree and pointed his staff at her head.
"Now, if you would kindly tell me what you are all doing in my forest?"

Jade stared at the newcomer. She was actually looking up to him, because he was about a head taller than her. "Your forest?" she asked, raising her eyebrows.
She shook her head and sighed. "Sword-boy over there's pointing his sword at everybody who's got a gem on their forehead. And I'm probably next." she muttered.

Brandon grimaced.
"Yes, my forest. Living somewhere for 5 years tends to give you a little claim on it."
He turned to the person wielding the sword, and leaned on his staff.
"And what is this about sticking your sword into people's gems?"
