It's late at the moment, but I thought I'd mention that I recently read through and started reading through this comic. Go ahead and sign me up. Also, like others, I did indeed enjoy that comic. If you look at the comments, you can probably find my post where I put my opinion on it down.

Yeah, seriously. 0_0 I did not expect her to get so worked up over her dad that she turns outright mean.

Yeah, seriously. 0_0 I did not expect her to get so worked up over her dad that she turns outright mean. Well, she is only 15 years old. And she probably was already frustrated at hearing this about her mom and dad that she's just lashing out at someone else nagging her and ticking her off.
She doesn't seem to care for her dad to begin with when you read it all through. So it was probably Renard just needling at her that caused that reaction, the desire to get him.
Oh, and I guess I was wrong that Ysengrim was the one that what's-her-name loved. Just some forest sprite.

Oh, and I guess I was wrong that Ysengrim was the one that what's-her-name loved. Just some forest sprite. Yeesh is right. It probably also helps that Renard is not part of the court, nor does he like to associate with it, so this is one person she can rant to where she is not likely to get bad marks or something on her school record. Nor is this info as likely to be spread around the school. And, as mentioned a comic ago, Renard is under her control, so that also helps.
Personally, I thought that some of the tension that she's letting off was due to the homework thing. And now she has something to use against Renard, so she used it. And now I'm interested in seeing what Renard has to say about Surma. We all know about how Jones almost seems to be emotionless. We also know that she can take quite a beating without even flinching or getting a scratch, and that she works with the mediums. So basically, my theory is that maybe her own ability has something to do with stability, emotionally, mentally, and physically, to the point that it's nigh impossible to shake her.

She's only 13. ... So even more support for that. XD Also: ... Had to do it. >_>

In response to the latest comic... My primary reaction was 'Oh wow'... First off, how exactly did that happen? I mean, none of the other medium-kids seem to have caused their parents to die. I suspect that it has something to do with her relation to, and activity in, the forest. Maybe a curse or something. Other than that, not much of a clue.
Second question: If there was nothing left to take, then how exactly was Annie able to take/bring her mom herself? Makes no sense to me. ...And come to think of it, why is Mort still hanging around? Shouldn't he have been taken too, or was there some work around or test that allows him to linger?

I called this. =D Or kind of. I think that Surma did this on purpose. Because I think the Court had made plans for Annie to be the perfect medium, the perfect mix between science (Anthony) and etheric tendencies (Surma). But Surma didn't want her daughter to be used in such a way, much less 'manufactured' for the Court's own purposes. So she basically made it so more of herself would go into her daughter, to free both herself and Annie from the Court's plans. Surma was too, well, fiery to put up with that. And Renard KNOWS this. He isn't telling Annie the whole truth either because he's been forbidden to, he's very hurt, or both. So that's my theory. We'll see what happens.

Noooo missed it! D: SO. Latest updates. Theory: Annie and Surma are part phoenix. It fits-- Fire, and only one exists. Ok, anyone getting echoes of Coyote's last Reynardine-love revelation? Seriously.
Coyote: "You see, Renard fell desperately in love with Surma!" Annie: *gasp* *time passes* Coyote: "It is not the middling laws of man that keep him there, but his love for you!" Annie: D: *time passes* Coyote: "You see, Renard is madly in love with Kat!" Annie: ... ? *time passes* Coyote: "And so he has fallen head over heels for Parley..." Annie: "Okay now you're just messing with me."

That would be hilarious if that was true. XD I've seen that theory tossed around, yeah. It certainly seems plausible. The only thing that's a little weird is that Annie looks pretty much human in the ether. >_> All the stuff with fire would seem to support the phoenix theory, though.
