Okay, updates.
I finished a prototype of Keng's bouncy bomb. For the first test I set one loose in a small warehouse with lots of wooden crates and wound up with a large pile of kindling and several shards buried in the walls of the warehouse. Unfortunately, this means that the weapon is quite likely to kill the user unless they can find someplace with heavily reinforced walls to hide in (I used a concrete hut).
Oh, and Ethan? I took another look at the knife sheath project and I think I can do the same thing by putting some miniature whetstones into the sheath, attaching a handcrank, and adding some slits in the bottom so that you can run water or oil through it. Do you want me to change it? Because the nanite version sharpens more quickly and accurately without the user needing to do anything, but the whetstone version won't shut down if an EMP wave hits it and isn't dependent on batteries.

Wow, hmmm, maybe reduce the explosive impact until the final boom? But either way, you really aren't meant to stick around once you let them loose.

(...What kind of bateries would fit into nanites? ) Hmm... With the stones I could effect just how sharp it is... A cut made from a dull object won't heal as cleanly as a cut made by a sharp one... Then again, time, effort, and in a sense, even blood went into making it as it is. I think I'll keep it for now. What would you do with the nanites after taking them out anyway? And what would the water and oil be for?

Hmm, I'd like to propose another update to my little transformation control device. Ethan, being a cyborg you might know a thing or two that could help. You see currently I control it by touch. This can be problematic if I can't reach the device, and it means others could potentially have access to it if they could figure out how to operate it. What I'd like to change is to make it so I can control it with my own brain much the way a cyborg would control their circuits or a mechanical arm. This would also mean it could be burried a little deeper so it could be potentially made bigger to fit any extra circuits needed for this, which I hope shouldn't be to much considering how nanatized (it's a word >.>) cyborg technology is becomming enlargening shouldn't be required to much.

((I have no idea, but they must run on some kind of power source. Maybe a transparent energy interface built into the sheath?))
Ethan - Uh, I'm not sure...keep them? And oil and water have traditionally been used with whetstones.
Keng - I didn't stick around; the concrete hut was way outside the warehouse. But maybe if I made the next version smaller and reduced the amount of explosive between each layer and removed a few of the inner layers the risk would be reduced. Also, I'll be giving the specifications for this prototype to the officers; maybe they can use it for bombing runs or something.

Congrats, Bacon! You just made Spacefleet's official 2000th post!
...Yeah, I just lucked out and saw that. I screenie'd it, if anyone wants to see the moment.

... good for you, uh, me, er, both of us... made my personal 2100th just a minute or two ago. So, do I get a prize or something? For either?

oh. that's... lovely. If only I had a water Poke'mon or something with me, I could just spray hydropump or a related skill into my mouth and that'd be that. Alas, despite catching two-hundred plus Poke's, I am down to four: an Eevee(who can talk! ^_^), a Pikachu, a Pidgeot, and a Typhlosion... I think I'll just give this to the lattermost and hope his natural resistance to fire helps. Clint: "Poke's"? What? Clint: You just said "Poke's". Oh. Did I? Imagine that. I meant "Poke'mons"... I mean "Poke'mon". >_> Anyways, this is getting a little off-topic here.

You'd have to connect something to your nerves (or possibly your brain) that would send signals to the device, without somehow impeding you. This way, you could also make it so that you can tell what its status is without touching or looking at it. I'd recommend doing a few tests before altering the device, so that it can be calibrated more accurately to your brain signals.

Yea, that would make sense. I guess the biggest obstacle would be the change in my brain after transformation... I guess I'll have to go to the med lab and get some scans done. .. oohh, that reminds me, I forgot to put the medical labs on the list.
