Erm, yeah, maybe, but those were the early days, so...
And blood is the life-giving force of all nature. Blood could also refer to kindred (i.e., "by blood"), and thus by way of association, could mean kindred knight, or with even more elaboration, knight of all beings.
It's all in how you interpret it....

Hehehe...
So...no one has yet given me any idea if I should or should not make that the new sign-up thread. I guess...if no one says otherwise...it'd be a good change, but I really am looking for feedback. I happen to think the introduction is a bit long, does anyone else agree, or is it just me?

Huzzah!
Just, erm, felt a bit spiffy there for a moment. Heh heh heheh...
As a passing...or fleeting...or something...note, I've updated the first post of this thread. I thought it was needed. I hope you all enjoy the changes. *snicker* ^_^
Further, in only a few moments, I will *hopefully* be redoing our present welcome thread, officially rechristening it as our one and only sign-up thread. I have a few kinks I need to work out of the example I worked up a while ago, then it'll all be done.
After that, to the roleplay!
((EDIT :: And, Zari, you may wish to repost your picture, URL or actual picture, here, since I think it was probably missed being the last post on the second-to-last page of the last OoC thread. :nodnod:))

Amusing notr about Zari's contacts- They are named after cats on my street!

Our capital needs a name, and since this isn't directly related to the RP, I thought I'd start discussion here.
Thus far, it's been called Kestrel City (to go along with Castle Kestrel and, most recently, the Kestrel's Cross inn), but for some reason, Kestrel City doesn't sound very creative to me. I like Castle Kestrel and the Kestrel's Cross, but Kestrel City just sounds so...bland.
I mean, it's cool to keep a run-on of Ks and Cs, but is it really necessary?
I've been trying to play around with a few Latin words to get something meaning falcon's nest or knights' dwelling, but falco and nidus and eques and domus, respectively, don't go as well together as I'd like. But the genitive (possessive) plural of falco is Falcorum, and that sounds pretty cool.

We can rename the Kestrel's Cross, if you want. I just wanted to have a name for the inn, and that sounded good.
Falcorum does sound cool. Unless someone can come up with a better idea, I vote for that being the capital's name.

"Falcodomus" (Falcon's dwelling according to Wolf's post) sounds pretty good to me.
Making stuff up from scratch, though, how about Raspuerta/Rasporta, Nihendren, Galidrien, Ruhenshi, or Makenourre/Makenorre?

"Falcodomus" (Falcon's dwelling according to Wolf's post) sounds pretty good to me. Technically speaking, I think "falcon's dwelling" would be Falcidomus. =) I happen to prefer the sound of Falcorum, though. The "d" sounds out of place to me.

Ah, right, the thingamabob on the end changes depending on the suffix, or something. This is why I never took Latin... Or maybe it's because I never took Latin that I get that confused...

The suffix (bit on the end) changes depending on context, I believe. *hasn't taken Latin either, but wants to*

The personal ending (the piece on the end) changes depending on whether the noun is singular or plural, what declension it's in, and sometimes its gender Because Falcorum is plural, masculine (or neuter, I don't have my dictionary...Wolf? I'm guessing it's masculine?), and in the Genitive [posessive] case, it gets the ending 'orum' and means "Of the falcons".

Falcorum sounds good, but the "rum" makes it... pirate-y. I tend to play with letters a little instead of putting already existing words together, so I'll post some slightly-misspelled words out of your suggestions that may be put to use (I mean, we don't really have to stick to strict Latinized words, do we?), as well as some of my own: Falciromus Rifalcus Falcorus (may also change 'r' to 'd') Adding the other suggestions makes our choices (as of now) six. Probably we should decide on the top three, then put up a poll.

Pyro, my dictionary says it's male. So, erm, what do we call a female falcon in Latin...? fO_o Vyt, I like the sound of Falcorus, kinda of like chorus of the falcons or something. Definitely, though, this will all culminate in a poll. ~_^ EDIT :: And it's been a WEEK since I was last here?! Woah, it hasn't felt like so long... :shakeshead: I guess getting caught up on the Neopian Times makes my time fly...or something like that. I probably won't be able to tend to the RP till next year. Sorry. -_- Though, considering the time ( ohnoez, I'm behind schedule!!!!!), that might not be too long a wait. :grins:
