The Great Hall - the heart and soul of our castle!
Located towards the center of Castle Kestrel, this massive chamber is adorned with dozens of tables and a stage for presentations of all sorts. Not only do Knighting Ceremonies take place here, this is the place where we Knights venture for feasting, partaking in annual festivities, and gathering in grand and boisterous union with our fellow Knights for any occasion.
So, what are ye waiting for? Come in already and join us! I welcome you to the Great Hall, our resident thread for general guild chat. But what is general guild chat, exactly? I have THUS FAR defined general guild chat as anything pertaining to the guild without being directly involved with welcoming new Knights ( the Sign-up Thread), the guild's present RP ( War Ascending), its accompanying discussion ( the Dungeons), or with any Guild Wars RP that may presently be going on ( the Knights' War Table), so, therefore, the possibilities for general guild chat have been rather enormous. But NOW...my thoughts are slightly a bit different. =.= Hehehe.... As a word (or six...or twelve) of caution, this is not a Knights' 'bloid! And spam will not be tolerated! Ergo, as long as we understand that, I have high hopes for this thread being a blazing place of joy.Forget all that! This is the GREAT HALL, baby, not the council chamber! Talk about whatever you want to talk about here, whether it's a "guild matter" or not. This is our Knights' Guild COMMUNITY thread, where we can really shine as a COMMUNITY. If that makes this place a place of spam and 'bloidal resemblance, so be it! After all, the 'bloids always did seem to lack a bit of chivalry we could supply here, I thought. XD

I'm really fresh out of the cabbage patch new, and I'm slightly lost. This is a completely different guild! Could someone give me an overview? Any help would be greatly appreciated. *curtsies*

Any help would be greatly appreciated. *curtsies* Okay... basically, all the locked threads can be safely ignored. ^_^ The "A New Day" thread is for role-playing; the "OOC Discussions" thread is for anything you might want to say about the RP out of character. The "Welcome" thread is for knighting ceremonies, introducing ourselves, and welcoming new knights. The "General Guild Chat" thread is for anything about the guild but not about the RP or welcoming people. There aren't too many pages to the RP now, so it shouldn't be that hard to catch up.

Curses, Ikkin beat me to it! lol. Well, I might as well post this anyways... I'm really fresh out of the cabbage patch new, and I'm slightly lost. This is a completely different guild! Could someone give me an overview? Any help would be greatly appreciated. *curtsies* Certainly! Let's begin with the welcome thread, the first stop for all Knights. That's where Knights choose a color and are then knighted. It's also where Knights introduce themselves and welcome new members. Then there's the Knights' roleplay, the highlight of the guild, where the Knights participate in a Knights' roleplay. At the moment, it's still morning in the RP and not much is going on. There are then two complements to the RP: the first is the King's Stables, where there's OoT (that is, out-of-character) discussion about the guild's roleplay; the second is east wing, the profile thread, where people post profiles for their character in the RP. There's also the Knights' War Table, which is a place for Knights participating in the Guild Wars roleplay to talk about it (the Guild Wars rp, however, does not relate to the Knights' rp). Lastly, there's this thread, the Great Hall, where Knights can just hang out, seek answers, and suggest new things. Occasionally, there may be a temporary thread with a poll or asking about feedback with a certain matter, though those threads are, as I said, usually temporary. And, as Ikkin mentioned, locked threads ca be safely ignored. ^_^

I really hate to have to post this, but I'm sort of overwhelmed right now. ;__; Schoolwork has been keeping me on my toes, I've been home late every day this week, and I have three roleplays to catch up on every day. I'm really sorry, but my dear Lord Wolf, this would be an excellent time for you to take over the Guild Wars, if you could. xD If not, maybe another experienced knight could continue on in my place. I haven't really had time to do any 'leading' at all yet, so all you need to worry about is Dusk, Zari's dragon, who she was already kind enough to describe on the Guild Wars thread.
I'll try to make a believable exit on the Guild Wars soon, if anyone is willing to take over. Once again, I'm really sorry. I should be able to catch up over the weekend, but I think everyone's sick of waiting for me. ^^;

The March lion seems to enjoy feasting upon time - no one seems to have much, it seems.
If you, Tamia, or anyone else in the GWrp, would be able to post a brief (...or even not so brief) summary of what things have been going on up till this point, I should be able to jump into it, but I certainly don't have the time available to read it all.

Discussion topic: the Council
As it is now, it is suspected that we'll be waiting for the present Guild Wars rp to end before we form the council, as we want to know exactly who is going to be active in the guild under "normal" conditions, so we can see who would be best in the council.
In the meantime, suggestions or ideas for what should be in the council are awesome.

Well, call me stupid, but what exactly are you thinking the council will do? ^__^;; I'm trying to get my ducks all in a row here.

Well, call me stupid, but what exactly are you thinking the council will do? ^__^;; I'm trying to get my ducks all in a row here. That's actually something I'm not entirely certain of myself, on all levels of interpretation, at least. Of course, there is an idea of what the council will be doing. As I've been studying US politics in school this year, it'll likely be influenced by that quite a bit (yep, I'm the king that brings democracy into monarchy... *shakes head* Then again, I was elected after all! ^_^ I mean, really, come on). Anyways, the current idea consists of the following: - A second-in-command to act on urgent matters when I'm not available - A group of a to-be-determined number of Knights that will converse on matters of major importance - Said knights will be organized in a manner so that there is always someone acting in charge when those above...are not In short, if I'm the President, the second-in-command would be my vice president, and the council would be my cabinet, also acting as my judiciary arm and my legislative branch (which is a lovely way to blend human and nature symbolisms with governmental flare ^_^). Ultimately, I would have the final say in all matters, but as I'm a very democratic king (once again with the irony, I know), a good argument from any of my council members could potentially sway me fully from the position I stand in on any of a numerous matters. As far as that goes, there would likely be a council-only thread for council discussion after a permanent one is formed. Court trials would potentially take place there, too. Also, filibustering would be completely illegal. Partly because I can do that. Mostly because this forum has no floors to hold. So...I think that sums it up. As it stands now, the potential council has already been chosen, but is awaiting further action. Yeah, I'm having too much fun with this. I blame school. And the US government. ^_^

Kit feels that Wolf is running this thing like his own little country and is enjoying it immensely. Kit has no complaints about Wolf, he's a nice guy and is doing a great job anyway.

*nods* That sounds perfect with the council, Wolf. It's a democratic monarchy!

I'm glad the council is lookin' good. ^_^ Thank you. *passes out cookies* I'd rather keep my ideas for the council unsaid until a further time, I hope you all understand. So, with that said, I think everything is good, well, except, maybe... Kit feels that Wolf is running this thing like his own little country and is enjoying it immensely. Kit has no complaints about Wolf, he's a nice guy and is doing a great job anyway. ...why is Shade speaking as if Kit? Nevermind that. ...why is Kit emulating Shade?
