((xD Only in the Knights do I use a character the same gender I am. It must be most confusing to you.))
Zaha skittered up behind the boy, speaking something, but to quickly for Shade to follow. Zari soon teleported in with a pink cat-girl and another girl. Both of the newcomers seemed to be knights, though she had never seen them before. "I'm Shade, bronze knight," she said again. "Who might you be?"

SILE giggled once more at Shade's response, but was having more than laughter in her mind. "This Knight reminds me of my good friend Laine for some sort of reason," she thought.
The pink cat was quick to her response, not wanting Shade to wait for it. "SILE is my name, and I humbly present myself as the Pink Knight", she replied with a smile. She took a glance at Jonathan and returned at Shade. "So, this male child (?)... Is he a relative of our glorious King?" she asked.

((Vyt, is SILE spelled out, or just pronounced as if it were Sile?))
"Glad to meet you, Sile. And I don't even know who he is, so how could I know that?" Shade smiled, standing up. "Lord Wolf, if you can find him, would explain, I'm sure."

((It's pronounced, and if you're curious it's pronounced like SAYLH. I just wanted to point out that the name was only given to her perchance 'coz she really doesn't have a real name)) "Well then..." SILE stood up as she stretched out her knees a bit. After exhaling a breath of relief, she continued. "Shall we be going?" ((Sorry for the short post... I'm not used to having a series of conversations. ^^; )

'Yes, we should. Into the castle we go.' Zari headed for the main doors. 'And no more disappearing, youngster. You hear me?'

The Bronze Knight introduced herself as Shade an offered her hand; Jonathan shook it obligingly, then stuffed his hands in his trouser pockets.
“I’m Jonathan,” he said. He didn’t know quite how to phrase the rest, so he asked, “Have you seen a white lynx go by here? I was following one.”
Then suddenly the talking cats and winged woman he’d seen before were surrounding him, condoning his deed and singing praise that he was alright, and his words were lost to the Bronze Knight.
And then the winged woman (who, he noticed, no longer had her wings) was telling him to follow her and began taking him back towards the castle.
“Wait,” he said, “I don’t—”
“Jonathan!”
Jonathan spun away from the woman and saw King Wolf running towards him. In an instant, the elder man had slid to his knees and taken Jonathan by the shoulders, his grasp firm but far from painful. He stared into Jonathan’s eyes.
“Are you alright?” he said.
“Le’go of me,” Jonathan said and wriggled free of Wolf’s grasp.
“Wait,” Wolf said and lurched for the boy, grabbing his sleeve and causing both of them to fall to the ground.
The boy was up faster than he was. “What do you want with me?”
Wolf went to speak, but then he saw it. A shimmering white lynx. Its tail shot straight our, it hissed and its fur stood on end; then it lifted its head and Wolf followed its gaze upwards.
The biggest bird he’d ever seen was flying in from afar, a dark shadow following beneath it. As it flew over them, it screeched and day momentarily became night. A kestrel. It could be no other winged beast.
Wolf followed the bird with his eyes until it had disappeared into the horizon. He lowered his head just a bit to face the others, Shade and Zari, two newer Knights he recognised as…SILE and Ringo?
He swallowed uneasily, still on his knees. “Did anyone else see that?”

The black cat yawned once, and left instantly, its tail swishing back and forth as it made its way towards the castle.
Her malicious expression could easily pass for a look that said, "Feed me...or else."
* * *
Kat stirred, and winced again as she turned over to face the healer crushing several herbs in a bowl. A strong, spicy scent filled the air, stinging her nose until it got used to the smell.
"Where's...his Majesty?" she asked the healer, who turned around, vivid blue eyes flashing. "Where's everyone else? Are they all right?"
"Lady Lunara, please, you need your rest," he answered softly, delicately tucking a strand of auburn hair behind one ear. "Right now, I'm making you a little something to help you recover quickly. It'll be ready in a short while...I'll just have to make a fire - "
As the bowl was placed onto the tripod, the healer gasped and stepped back, almost tripping over his own feet as a tiny flame crackled into life under the tripod, but strangely, it hovered a fraction of an inch above the bedside table, barely scalding the surface.
"Lady!" he said, watching the medicine closely as though it would leap up at any second and attack him. "You need your rest!"
"Sorry," said Kat, shrugging. "I thought you needed a bit of help."

The large shadow, appearing out of nowhere, took Shade's attention before she could greet Lord Wolf. Looking for the source, she saw a massive kestrel, flying over the castle. Wind beat down from it's wings, blowing leaves and dust. Then the bird screeched, turning day to night for an instant. Shade fell to her knees, eyes closed. An image flashed before her, showing shadows enveloping a large field.
Wolf's voice, saying, "Did anyone else see that?" shattered the image. Shade opened her eyes to find herself on hands and knees, breathing heavily. "I saw the kestrel." She looked at Wolf, rocking back into a kneeling position. "And I felt the shadow," she said, shivering. "Not sure if that had anything to do with it, though..."

Crystal sighed slightly with relief as the Green Knight came to her aid, wrapping his arm about Kat's waist, and lifting some of the other girl's weight from herself. So preoccupied was she in her relief that she turned her eyes back to the goings-on, she found that there were a lot more people in the corridor than she had previously thought.
Zari stood there, a look of shock on her face, and another fae that Crystal had never seen. There was a cat as well, and they all stood about a book that lay open on the floor.
There was a hand coming from that book.
Crystal's stomach twisted a little in sudden fear, and she smoothed it down with an effort. She'd seen much worse. This was unnatural, but at least it was benign.
Then, as soon as she had caught hold of the situation, it ended. One of the fae girls hurried forward and caught up the book, and they left quickly, speaking to each other in their own language. For that matter, the Sepia Knight thought, Wolf seemed awfully distracted as well. Her new King was looking down the way he came with a slightly worried look on his face.
“Well, I guess we should get her to the infirmary already, shouldn’t we?”
She nodded quietly.
At the infirmary, she helped set Kat down on the bed, and smoothed the Purple Knight's sheets as her King spoke to the nurse there. She turned to face him as he spoke to her. He was still worried, and very very uneasy. “I hate to just leave like this, but I have to go find Jonathan…. You don’t mind making sure everything’s alright here for me, do you?”
Jonathan? But before she could ask, he had turned and run.
On a sudden impulse, she started after him. "Crystal!" she called as he ran. "My name is Crystal, my Lord!" He didn't answer.
She turned back to Kat then, and smiled, and said her goodbyes, and stepped out from the infirmary. Where to go now? She wasn't really sure. There were a lot of things left to do today.
((I owed this thread a nice gentle going out. I honestly can't think of anything else to do in here. Heaven above, guys, why are there so many talking, shapechanging, magical cats? x__x))

((Because... who can resist using a cat as a character? I suppose everyone can support the cause for mutation of felines into anthro felines )) "The avian flew majestically..." SILE breathed out, amazed by the kestrel she saw earlier. The pink cat was so happy she was able to witness such a thing.

((It’s sad to see you go, Crystal. Perhaps as more life comes back to the roleplay, you’ll feel compelled to come back to it as well. As per the cats? I have no idea. But as both wolf and king, I should banish them!))
Wolf slowly got to his feet and brushed the dirt from the knees of his pants, still feeling rather dazed. “So you saw it, too?” he said to SILE before turning towards Zari. “What about you, did you see it?”
“Uh, eh…”
Wolf turned towards Jonathan. “Yes?”
“Well, uh…” the boy glanced away shyly. “What does it mean?”
Wolf didn’t know how to answer, so he turned towards Shade. “Do you have any idea?” he asked. He thought for a moment. “I’m sure Sir Kit would have some idea, but when he left breakfast with Lady Tamia this morning, he seemed rather preoccupied….”
Wolf found it rather ironic, though, that, despite the numerous goings-on in the kingdom, no one quite knew what was going on at all.

'I felt it. And saw it. A Kestrel. I don't believe in Omens, but this could mean something for our Castle. It felt like...' she stopped. 'Like safe. Uh- Jonathan, is it not? It could mean nothing, or something, but we cannot be sure. I have seen many who have seen a meaning that was not there and made terrible mistakes, and many who have not seen the signs and fallen hard. In Krahia-' she stopped. Here she was, talking of her homeland! 'we look at the circumstances, not the event. Does anyone know where the shadow fell? It may be a sort of pointer, or it may be nothing. But I'd like to make sure.' Zari summoned her staff and held it uneasily. 'I do not like this situation of always guessing. It's...well, I like to know what I'm facing. Facing the unknown is harder than facing something you know the name and ways of.'
