They're still under the same phylum, cnidarians. They are the medusae stage of a weird lifecycle. They aren't TRUE jelly fish. but they are still essentially the same thing, just colonial. They are part of class hyrdazoan, true jelly fish are classified as scyphozoa. The diffrence is mostly how long they stay in that impaticualr stage of their life cycle. Sea sea anemoneas are also part of phylum cnidaria, they have no medusae stage. They only have the polyp stage and possibly the larval too.
The largest jellyfish in the lions mane. It grows to 2m in diameter with tentacles up to 30m long. The largest jelly on record is 3.6m in diameter. That's almost twice as wide as I am tall!

Keng, you're my hero. ^_^ *knows more about jellyfish than she ever hoped to know in her life*

I'm amused at PotC's fishmen. Why in the world is Davy Jones a squidface? I mean, they're cool looking and all... but fishmen? First time I saw the trailer, I was all like "OMG it's like One Piece!" But whatever floats their boat, I guess. ..... Plus their boat IS rather cool, it's like a big hunk of floaty coral. Heh.... .... Maybe they'll have a Man-o-War man! XDDDD
At first I was wondering what you were talking about, but then I remembered some blips from the trailer, which was too short to really see anything but splashing water and a few snarling faces. Oh, and of course that wonderful memorable "We can't leave without Jack" scene. I wanna see it badly... probably gonna end up watching the first one about twenty or thirty times between here and July to fill the gap. xD
