[glow=red,2,300]Yeah, since half of the upper levels seems to have vanished into thin air, it's time to reshuffle the ranks.
Captain - The big cheese. 'Nuff said.
First Mate - For our purposes, the second-in-command on the ship.
Second Mate - Not quite as high up as a first mate. Mates are smiliar to boatswains.
Boatswain - In charge of ropes, sails, flags and the like.
Gunner - In charge of cannons, fuses, and things that go boom.
Powder Monkey - The assistant to the gunner.
Helmsperson - Steers us into icebergs... or not.
Lookout - Is supposed to warn us before we hit the iceberg!
Wench - Our lovely little kitchen-girl. XDDD
Anyone willing to throw thier hat into the ring must post here. Even if I already know you're running, I need a formal statement.
Captain - Rider
Captain's Apprentice - Hunty
First Mate - Kat
Second Mate - Zylaa
Boatswain - Ikkin
Gunner - Fen
Powder Monkey - Cyr

I'm going to run for Bosun again. ^_^ Just because I can. And who wouldn't want the one in charge of the sails to be able to put extra wind in them when it's necessary?  |

Technically, the owner of the ship has never been the same as the captain... except for pirates, but heck, this is still the NTWF. Most of the time the ships were owned by merchants or landlords (check Treasure Island and that kinda books) who hired the crew along with the captain. Because the owners themselves knew as much about actual sailing as cows know about aeroplanes. (Yus, Hunty's getting nitpicky again, take cover.) As for the boatswain, he/she is mainly in charge of the crew, and the sails and ropes and cargo and stuff as well. Basically the housekeeper and the one with actual direct power over the crew, the big cheeses are there for the fancy theorethical stuff, like setting the course and logging, etc. A ship the size of the Weewoo doesn't even have the need for a second mate, from what I know, but again, heck, do what you want cause a pirate is free =3 And I know the helmsperson as the quartermaster, took those duties meself back in my zombie story but I'm not sure if I actually want the official role... EDIT: mkay, official announcement it is. I'ma running for Captain. Had a discussion with our capitano a while back, not going into details here but the main reason why I'm doing this is to give the crew, a.k.a. you guys a chance to choose. If you think that there's room for new blood in those ranks, then changes you'll get. If you're fine with the current state of things, then so be it. Rider encouraged me to run, and apparently thinks I'd make a decent captain, so I'm willing to give it a shot. |

I ain't runnin' either, Ikkin. XD I'm not an official pirate. I just own the Weewoo, thus I need to make appearances to harass Rider (I still have a cabin, afterall).
But don't worry, I ain't sellin' your secrets to no ninja. I'm retired.
