((sorry for the loooong delay - I've been away working in Germany for a couple of weeks.....))
Pam was halfway along the dock when she saw the commotion going on by the ship. A figure in a long dark robe was running down the quay carrying a bloody cutlass. As he passed her, Pam automatically stuck out her foot, tripped him and calmly picked the sword out of his hand as he tumbled into the water, then headed off to the ship to find out what had happened.

Ikkin ran to the deck, startled by Echo's scream and wondering what could have happened to Servi. "What happen-" she started, then saw the mess. The deck was red and slippery, and the water below where Echo stood was red as well. "Where's Servi?" she asked. "Is he..." she couldn't finish the rest.

Huntress leaned over he railing and squinted into the bloody waters. "Things were going smoothly 'nough so far," she muttered with a frown. "Ye guys, get 'im out of there, now."
The 'ye guys', as in all the meepits in hearing range, stared at him. Joe had spent the last few hours cooking up some extra stiff n00b grog so the three jolly buccaneers had recovered but now they went pale again.
"You do know that meepits can't swim, right?" Bob asked.
"And he's heavy... even without the head," Boom added.
Huntress's eyes narrowed. "Get down thar, now."
As countless little rodents splashed into the water, deciding that they'd rather learn to swim very-very fast than stay on the same ship with their angry not-so-official owner, the girl turned to look at the crew. "Any of ye guys know some healing magic?"
"If I get the ingredients, I may be able to cook up somethi... okay, okay, going already." Joe the meepit whizzed over the railing.

"What happened?" Pam asked, coming up the gangplank and joining the crowd leaning over the rail, watching the floundering meepits in the water. "Who was he?" Looking down at the deck she frowned. "That's goin' t' stain if ye don't get it up soon...."

By this time, Echo had gone into shock. She was sitting on the deck where she had seen Servitore fall off, curled up with her knees against her chest, staring at the churning water. "I--I--I--didn't see who did it..." She was pale white and shaking.

To everyone's horror and disgust, Servi's head bobbed up and down on the surface of the water, his eyes wide open, capturing his thought's at the exact moment he felt the blade scrape across his neck. A voice breezed gently through the air. "I was never cut out to be a Pirate anyway.".

She started breathing heavier, and asked "Was--was I the only one who heard--" and then she fainted, still curled up.

Keng who had just returned from town when she boarded the ship and saw the bloody mess onboard. Her eyes grew wide and she entered an instant state of alert. She dashed forward to inspect the gruesome seen, hopping she'd be told it was just spilt wine, though her nose clearly told her otherwise.
"What hap- blimey!" She had seen the floating mess in the water and was cut short in shock. She staggered a moment, looking into the shoked detached face. A wave of reliefe came when she saw it was no one she knew from the crew, followed by a sorrow for the poor soul. Looking around the ship though, she was surprised to see that people seemed to know his name.
It seemed an inappropriate time to ask about the trivial bit of info at the time though.
"I wouldn't want those meepits in there for two long, that blood is sure to attract a few jawfulls of teeth." she cautioned to Huntress as she walked over to Echo and sat down to comfort her.
Above Scallywag flew circles, well aware that something was amiss, but seemingly confused about what to do about it. He lost sqwauks seemed to only add to the eerie atmosphere that had befallen the Weewoo.

Huntress was still leaning over the railing, seemingly not as shocked as the others. Then again, once you've spent time shoving acidic arrows into other people the previous night, the quick clean death of a complete stranger isn't exactly the first thing on your Most Upsetting list. Then again... why waste a perfectly good human life?
"Sharks?" she asked absently. "Would be nice... th' guys haven't eaten yet. But thar thay come now... took 'em long enough." A ladder flew over the railing and soon enough a dripping horde of dark blue meepits dragged the lifeless body onto the deck. Bob "Squeaky" Destroyer grabbed the head along as he climbed up last.
"As dead as Cap'n's cabin on Monday mornings," he declared. "We may be able to zombify him though... which would be better than nothing... it just takes some n00b grog and a LOT of rum as I remember. But you gotta sew the head back first."
Huntress glanced at the pale remains of the stranger before her and then dug into the depths of her corset laces. "Not that th' idea of a drunken zombie on our ship wouldn't be tempting, but I can think o' a few better ways fer using some fine rum..." She found a needle along with some thread and looked at them critically before getting to the now-not-so-bloody work.
"Hope ye like hot pink," she stated to the head. "Guys, remind me to buy some black thread 'fore we sail off..."
((Yah, I know, I just can't let people die... pink-necked drunken zombies are a lot more fun x3 Last chance for any of you to find some healing powers...))

Echo's subconscious was swimming with terrors as she laid on the cold, blood-red deck. She saw Servitore's frightened face, the silver blade flashing through the air, and heard the sickening sound as Servi's head hit the deck. But she saw something else...the killer's cloak had a red lining with gold thread.
She woke with a start, and found that she had been carried to her and Serv--well--her room. She leaned back on her pillow, as she swung gently in her hammoc. "Serv..."

Ikkin had been lost in her thoughts as Servi was hauled up by the Meepits and sewn up by Huntress. Who could do something like this... But now, something Huntress said brought her back... probably the bit about drunken zombies and hoping Servi liked hot pink.
"I think I might be able to help him..." Ikkin started. "It might be a bit risky, though... I haven't tried it much before, so I'm not sure... but I think it could help." At the 'get on with it' looks she was receiving, Ikkin decided to tell the whole story.
"I'm soul-bound to a phoenix," she said. "Mostly, I let him do what he wants, since he's kind of irritable... I only bound myself to him because he needed me to remain in this world. But, I think if I ask him to revive Servi, he might do it... and hopefully not burn the ship in the process."
Steeling her resolve, Ikkin drew her cutlass, flames trailing after it, stopping over her head with the sword pointed upwards. Gradually, the flames surrounding it became more and more phoenix-like, and she lowered the sword away from the forming bird. Sev had been summoned... hopefully, he wouldn't do anything unexpected.
"Sev," Ikkin said to the bird. "Could you heal Servi for us?"
"Do I have to?" Sev whined. Ikkin glared at him. "Oh, alright..." And Sev breathed fire over Servi's body, completely covering it.
"What did you do that for?" Ikkin asked, shocked. Sev just sighed (at least, as much as a phoenix can sigh) As the flames dissipated, Servi was revealed, completely whole... and unmistakably alive.
"Happy now?" Sev asked. Ikkin nodded, still in shock. "Just don't call me too often... or I might have to burn your ship." He smirked. Ikkin wasn't really sure if he meant it, but didn't want to try him.
"Thank you, Sev," she said as he flew off into the distance. Perhaps Sev would make a good ally after all... if he didn't decide to burn all her fellow pirates first.
((Because a fully-alive Servi will probably be less restricted than a drunk zombie, but I don't want to be using Sev all too much.))

Zylaa had nearly vomited when she saw the sickening headless corpse, and when the phoenix appeared and breathed fire onto the body, it was too much. She fainted away. Perhaps there was some epidemic of fainting going around the crew.

"Looks like ye got a ship full of girlies," Pam muttered to Huntress. "Is it always like this?" Still muttering to herself she wandered off below decks to try to find something to clean the blood off her new cutlass with.

((So that's the story behind Sev.... I never really got that point x3 And feel free to keep using him, maybe then I'll be inspired enough to go for another little sketch illustration. A phoenix sitting on the yard of the ship... *plots*))
Huntress turned away from the scene, seeing that there was no need to worry any more. "Thay'll become tougher in time, methinks," she said. "'Sides, faintin' is something one can't control that well... where d'ye think yer going, guys?"
The meepits, who had turned away too, glanced at her. "The little mermaid over there is rescued, what else do you want?" Bob demanded.
Huntress frowned. "The murderer."
The meepits shot a glare at the dark figure who was currently climbing ashore, then they sighed in unison and galloped off.
