Ikkin arrived back at the tavern to find a similar scene to when she left- at least one of the Meepits was still sick. But now Huntress was talking to someone that she didn't recognize, someone who looked like she might easily be a pirate.
"Who's the new girl?" she asked, wondering why someone who wasn't from their ship would be curious about the Meepits. "A new recruit, or something?"

"Funny ye should say that," Pam replied, taking a seat at the table with a final glare at Bloody Mary. "I've been lookin' fer a ship to sail with. Got any openings?"

"I think you should talk to Cap'n Rider about that," Ikkin told the girl. "She might be willing to take on another crew member, if you've got somethin' to offer. And a name," she continued with a wink. "I'm not sure she'd take on someone if she didn't offer her name. So, who are you, so I can introduce you to my cap'n?"

"The name's Pam," she replied helping herself to a drink from the jug on the table. "As for what I can offer, I'm the best navigator ye'll find. I've sailed all over the world from the frozen seas around Terror Mountain to the tropical waters round Mystery Island an' I've never got lost. Think I'll be good enough for yer Cap'n?"

"Sounds like you'd make a great addition to our crew, Pam," Ikkin said with a smile. "I imagine Cap'n Rider'll be happy to have you."
Turning towards her captain, Ikkin called out, "Hey, Cap'n! We've got a pirate navigator over here who wants to be crew! Can she join us?"

"Cap'n! Yeh have a mate in need of orders!" The sound of boots clacking on the wooden deck made a hollow noise as a shadow stepped out into sight. "Ahoy, mates, me name's Echo, and I'm glad t' be a part o' your crew." The small young lass strutted to the crowd of pirates on the deck, white sleaves billowing in the breeze, topped by a laced blue corset. Echo smoothed her brown breeches and looked at the captain, slightly nervous. But she didn't dare let on. She stood as tall as possible in her beaten (but trusty) brown knee-high boots, hoping that the Captain would accept her.

[glow=red,2,300]"Two new recruits?" Rider said with a smile. "Today's me lucky day. But first, allow me ter tell ye the nature o' this mission, the reason why so soon we be headin' ter Geraptiku.
"How many of ye know of the lost civilization what once flourished there? Nay, not civilized. Many would kill ye soon as look at ye, aye, an' eat ye besides. Yet they had a power beyond human understanding. I was a witness ter that pow'r, an' I do long ter understand."
She turned to Echo and Pam. "Afore I cap'ned the dear Weewoo, I was the captain of a far more beautiful ship. Mayhap ye've heard o' her. She's called the Meteor. She was old, old as the seas themselves and yet in perfect condition, like every voyage was her maiden voyage. Her blood-red paint ne'er chipped an' her pure white sails ne'er sullied. Th' gold dragon head on her prow looked e'er new, fresh as the day she rose from the bowels of Hell. I was-"
A scream coming from the Blacksmith's.
One of the walls had crumpled and was lying in pieces on the ground. Ventratta stood nearby, looking a bit overly angelic.
The swords that the blacksmith had been working on were stuck in the ceiling at odd angles. Rider groaned inwardly and pulled hers from the ceiling as the blacksmith got out from behind his stove. "Ventratta..."[/glow]

"Rider, you're even crueler to that blacksmith than I was!" Ikkin laughed. "I almost feel bad for the guy... in any case, I'm glad I went to get my sword before that happened..."
She twirled her sword around with a flourish, then sheathed it. "In any case, I have to wonder what's in Geraptiku that we need to deal with... it doesn't really sound like treasure to me. And for some reason, that story sounds familiar, as if I'd heard it before... can't imagine where, though..."

"Guess we'll have t' go and find it out then." Huntress had finished her tea and now looked up. "Geraptiku once had huge treasures an' great wealth indeed, this I've heard. Not only this as I recall... can't remember much either though. But it be soundin' like a nice adventure." She glanced at the meepits. "Well, lads?"
Santa looked up. "S'cuse me?"
Bob snorted. "We'll be fine as soon as we get some of Joe's grog again. So let's hurry back to the ship before my brains flow out from the ears, whatcha think?"
The girl stood up. "Works fer me."

"I think this town has had too many rodents roaming free for too long. Ventratta and I will be on the ship. Let me know when you're done in town, and we can head out."[/glow]

"I'll head to the ship, too," Ikkin said. "I'm pretty much done here, and being out on the water again might be nice." She followed her captain to the ship, taking to the air as soon as she was outside. It felt nice to be out of that tavern again... and soon enough, there'd be something more interesting to do, because whatever Cap'n Rider was going to Geraptiku for, it was bound to be dangerous.

Zylaa skulked to the ship in a lousy mood. Untold powers from a dead civilization? A ship from Hell? Why were pirates so bloody set on killing themselves?

Keng came stumbling down a pair of stairs near the back of the tavern. She had just woken up. It had been a bit of a long night after making the sword that now hung at her side. She had already payed for her sleep and looked around lazily wondering what she was doing down here again. Her memory was quite sluggish so soon after waking up. She looked over at a plate of food on a table, and quickly decided to eat somewhere else, so she stepped outside. Scallywag who had spent the night on the roof flew down onto her shoulder and squwaked hopefully. At this point she finally recalled her plan to stock up on jerky. So before heading to the ship she bought up a poket full and some fresh fruit for breakfast. She then hurried back to the ship. hopping they hadn't left without her. This didn't seem like a good place to be stuck in.
