Huntress had dived into the depths of a hold in the stern. Now she backed out again, holding the biggest, ugliest and most dangerous-looking crossbow the NTWF had ever seen. It was four feet long. With spikes across the bow. And a semi-automatic reloading system.
"Someone go get Boom and tell him that I need more acid here," she muttered, and Justice whizzed off. "Fenrix... be my guest, but not now. We don't attack first. We don't attack unless they attack," her eyes narrowed "and if they do, they'll live to regret it, but I see no point in wasting ammo and good magic on them without a reason. And should anyone defy that order, it's the keel for ye, no exceptions. What, Dragon?"
"She means that thing up there," said Bloody Mary, jerking his paw at the white Weewoo near the mainsail.
Huntress squinted. A grin spread over her face. "A Weewoo on the Weewoo. And a white one about that. I don't even remember the last time I saw one. If that doesn't predict good luck, I don't know what does."
"It looks tired," said Bob. "And it'll be squished if it remains floating in front of the sail when Ikkin calls the wind. I know her power."
Hunty scowled. "True. Hey! Chik... I mean, Ikkin, can you take that thing down or something while you're up there? We don't really need to squish weewoos here. They're expensive. Hm, and," she lowered her voice again, "Dragon, can you turn into a seagull or something and go check things out? It'd probably be wiser to let Kat preserve her energy for the big show."

((The spelling dosen't really matter to me. I just want the ship's name right to avoid confusion.))
With the deck cleared Keng looked up the white weewoo being discussed. "Ha ha, we should keep it. Afterall, this is the white weewoo and all we've got are meepits, uhh... no offense guys. Oh, right, and ice weasles too." she added as an afterthought, looking at the small weasles mulling about the ropes.
((I will be time jumping us to the islands in about 6 posts if no one objects. Just so you know to close up your convos and stuff. From past experiance, I know we could spend an eternity getting there. And I'm impatient for some action lol.))

Goosh squinted at the approaching shore. "Perhaps we can force them to dock?" he asked, guaging the distance mentally. "We are pirates, after all."

Leah stopped moving across the yardarm, out of both anxiety and nauseousness. She suddenly heard bellows form below, about a Weewoo near the mainsail.
'Shish Kabobs!,' she interjected mentally. There was nothing else to do now but let them come get her. With any luck, they'd sell her to the type of person who would leave her alone in a very basic cage. She loosened her grip on the yardarm and waited.

Ikkin had been preparing her wind and not really paying much more attention than she needed to hear when to use her magic, but her name was definitely enough to shake her out of it. She heard Bob the meepit say something like, "...when Ikkin calls the wind. I know her power," and looked in his direction.
Hunty quickly made explanation unnecessary. "True. Hey! Chik... I mean, Ikkin, can you take that thing down or something while you're up there? We don't really need to squish weewoos here. They're expensive."
No, squishing weewoos was something Ikkin would rather avoid. And not just for their monetary value. She rather liked the little birds.
She quickly flew up to the yardarm and hovered near the little Weewoo. "I'm not going to hurt you, okay?" she said, offering her arm. "Just get on my arm, and I'll get you down. I wouldn't want you to get caught up in my wind when I make it..."

Fenrix nodded. "Aye Huntress, whatever you say." She laid her hand on the handle of her slender curved blade, she kept her eyes on the ship, watching it with keen interest. Then a white movement caught her attention. It was the weewoo, cute little critter, Ikkin was apparantly trying to befriend it.

"Just get on my arm, and I'll get you down. I wouldn't want you to get caught up in my wind when I make it..."
The Weewoo stared at her curiously. 'Ahh. So they aren't like those other kind of pirates.' Leah put on her "cute-pathetic face", the one that often distracted people from her the ability of speech. She chirped sorrowfully and hopped onto Ikkin's hand, stopping at a spot right beside her elbow.
She could now see the ship that had previously been a blurry dot. The Judgment was in clear sight by now, and they appeared to be paying no attention to the white vessel. Another thing that was in sight was the shore. It seemed they wanted to reach their destination rather than pick a fight with the larger ship. For once, Leah was glad of this fact. Her bad luck seemed to be brightening.

"Ikkin what are you doing?" Cyborg called up to Ikkin as she let the weewoo hop onto her hand.
"I'm just getting this little weewoo to safety before I call up the winds," she said, smiling at the little bird as it put on an adorably cute face. "I'm just waiting for the foresails to be secure, now."
Ikkin let herself sink gently towards the ground, allowing the weewoo to get off her arm and onto the deck as soon as she'd landed. Then, she stood back up and called over to the other pirates. "Hey, what's taking you so long with those foresails? We'll lose the element of surprise if we take much longer!"

With a little wave to the Weewoo, Kat asked, "So...what do you want me to do that is 99% likely to be magic-related?"

Dragon watched as Ikkin brought the weewoo down.
Leah
The weewoo put on a pathetic face. Dargon raised her eyebrows. Not to insult anything but weewoos aren't that smart. Not smart enough when to know to be pathetic and cutesey. Dragon had to know. She started walking towards Ikkin.
"Dragon, can you turn into a seagull or something and go check things out? It'd probably be wiser to let Kat preserve her energy for the big show."
Darn! I guess my investigation will have to wait for later, Dragon thought.
Her mind focused soley on a bird, and with ease she felt her body shrinking. When she opened her eyes she was a seagull. "I'll be back!" She shouted.
She circled the ocean a few times, making herself look like any other seagull attracted to fish. She noticed that the Judgment had their fishing lines open. As if she was attracted by it, she flew over towards it swirling, looking for fish. She made a fake dive into the water, snapping her beak as if she caught something. Now for the real investigation. Dragon brought herself high, but low enough to see details of the ships.
Uniforms. All the same. But no logo. Something was fishy here. No wait, was it? Yes it was. A poor uniformed worker came out, half asleep, probably by orders of the captain. Only he wasn't wearing a stuffy jacket like the others. His logo was out in plain view. Dragons eyes bulged when she read them. She looked down and saw the cannons, poorly hidden, and some still being put away.
She didn't notice that this whole time she was being watched by a lookout in the nest. In anticipation of giving this information to her crew, she forgot to act like a seagull, flapping as hard as she could back to the ship. That's when the gun shot fired. She floated down slowly transforming back into an Elf. She was in the middle of both ships.
"Fish." She muttered before splashing into an ocean, floating to the bottom as she miraculously formed into a fish. Then... darkness.

"Aw Ikkin has got a heart of gold when it comes to weewoos, or are you doing it cause they be expensive?" Asked Cyborg who was also looking at the weewoo. " Kat I think you should do what you feel would be the best." added the kougra.

"Eh, Ikkin's right," said Kat, leaning back against the deck and letting the sea breeze ruffle the strands of her hair that escaped her braid. "I should really save up my magic for the big fat fights. I'll be in my quarters, translating the stupid scroll, if anyone needs me."
She walked away from the scene on the deck and disappeared behind one of the doors on the ship.

Huntress glared at the Judgment. Then at the crew. Then at the spot where Dragon had fallen into the sea. Then she sighed.
"First things first," she said in a voice that contained a number of mixed feelings, some of them consisting of rather spicy words, "did anyone see if Dragon managed to transform into something with gills before she sank?"
"Yes ma'am. A herring if I saw correctly," said Bloody Mary. Big beady eyes had advantages.
"Cute." Huntress grabbed the wheel again and the two meepits hopped away quickly. "Now, I'd be infinitely grateful if some of you nice people would GET ON WITH THE FORESAILS!"
They knew the voice. Anarchists as they were, they never directly obeyed the voice - they simply did the optimal thing to make it stop. The two meepits rocketed off over the deck and up the rigging. Several others followed, emerging from their numerous meepitty hideouts on the deck. Hunty didn't know for sure how many there were. 'Around two dozen' was always the closest number. But those two dozen could move faster than one would expect from those chubby bodies, and what's more important, they were good at synchronising.

"Cap'n!" shouted Mr. Coldweather from the crow's nest. "They're reefing the sails!"
The captain blinked. "What - in the middle of the sea?"
"Well, they have to if they want to land quietly, not run ashore," said lieutenant Jefferson. "They're going to land here, and are probably assuming that a fishing boat is no threat. Some half an hour to go, I'd say."
***
Huntress, had she heard the lieutenant, would most likely have begged to differ.
"Ikkin, if you please!" she shouted, leaning her feet against the deck and grabbing the wheel.
((And this, boys and girls, is why I keep my blue gang around and handy x3))

"Ikkin, if you please!" Huntress shouted, leaning her feet against the deck and grabbing the wheel.
"Aye, aye, Cap - " Ikkin started gleefully. "Oh, not again." She really needed to get out of that habit.
In any case, that didn't change what she had to do. Easy as pie. She grinned, letting her winds loose and into the mainsail with as much force as she could without fearing damage to the mast. Wind mages were very useful to have on pirate ships, if you wanted to make time.
