((... I feel impending doom approaching. You're a meanie, Ikkin xDDD)) ((Hey, I had to get this going somehow, didn't I? Hmm... can't really do anything with Ikkin until at least someone decides to follow me... so, I'm going to mess around a bit more. ^_^)) ((... Why does everyone love messing with me? xD)) Scar's ears twitched again. Had he just said that? Sure he was hungry but he could've sworn he hadn't been that loud. "Bad belly," he mumbled and turned over in his chair. ... Which felt more and more like a bed now. And why did the armrest have sharp pointy bits? His eyes snapped open. "Gah!" he yelped, scrambling to get out of the chair. The headrest snapped down as quick as an adder and the chronomancer was engulfed by the creature. "Melf!" he yelled from under the soft cushions. Then he thought how nice it felt to be surrounded by cushions. Perfect for a na ... "Melf!"

[shadow=purple,left,300]((Because it is fun to mess with you, Scar-kun. ^_^))[/shadow]
The room was full of old, dusty furniture, many of which were under cloth covers. She thought she saw something move in one particular armchair that caught her interest...
"Kat, don't sit on that..."
"What?" Kat turned around and saw Ikkin, looking thoroughly horrified. Why, though? "I'm not sitting on the - "
Something twitched - actually, the armchair, and whoever was sitting in it. The armchair suddenly looked more like the mouth of some vicious creature, and its occupant suddenly looked more like lunch. Gripping her staff, Kat stepped backward, realized she was going the wrong way, and stepped forward again.
A single magical word, and the headrest was suddenly awash in blue-violet light. She pointed her staff towards it and tried concentrating on bending it back to save whoever (or whatever) was trapped in its jaws. Sweat formed on her forehead and the back of her neck as she focused her power on the headrest, watching it writhe as it tried to resist the magic. It rose slightly, but the space was enough for a person to crawl through on their belly.
"Get out!" she yelled, feeling her hands tremble with the effort of keeping the headrest up as long as she could and hoping to raise it higher. "I don't know how long I can keep this thing from swallowing you!"

((Riiight xDDD))
Scar thought he heard someone shouting amidst the cushions. "Get out!" he managed to hear. Surprisingly, a slight gap opened before him, ringed by sharp ... teeth?
"But it's so comfy in he ..." Scar smacked his head backwards to clear it. "Coming! Just a little wider!" he shouted, trying to pry the mouth of the chair open wider. If not for the teeth he'd be able to squeeze out. A deep growl rumbled up from the depths of the chair and he thought he felt something brushing against his backside. "Hurry up! It's licking me, eww!"

Kat groaned as she continued pouring more power into her spell. The headrest continued to glow, and by this time it was like a shining purple beacon. Her knees began to tremble, and her staff began to shake even more. But she was still standing - that was a good sign.
It went up a couple of inches higher, and the energy that went into it made Kat's world spin, but she managed to keep standing.
Just barely.
"Hurry!" she said, her voice wavering.

"Perfect!" Scar said when the gap widened. He loosened his arms and wrapped the chain of his pocket-watch around one of them. Doing that he swung at the rows of teeth as hard as he could. A yelp arose from the depths of the chair as several of the teeth cracked and fell out. It almost spat the chronomancer out in its pain as Scar tumbled to the floor. And there he lay, flat out on his back, breathing heavily. "That's the last time I'm falling asleep in this place," he gasped.
Scar turned his head to regard Kat and Ikkin. "Err, thanks?"

"Kat did most of the work," Ikkin said with a wry grin. "And most rooms around here are safe. It's just this one that's a little... unusual, shall we say."
Something moved behind Scar. Ikkin quickly blasted the chair backwards into a wall before it could make any more trouble. It groaned in a confused manner. Hopefully, it would stay down so they could talk.
"Anyway, I think that problem's been taken care of for now, as long as everyone remembers not to sit on the chair. There really is no way of getting rid of it for good, unfortunately." If the chair had eyes, it would have been glaring at her, though it was still mostly incapacitated. "It still might be best if we get out of here before any of the other... magical accidents... decide to target us, though."

"There are much nicer places to fall asleep in, like a good suite," said Kat in a hoarse voice, letting herself fall to her knees. She had expended so much energy into something as simple as keeping the headrest of a mage-eating chair up long enough for a dozing chronomancer to get out and avoid becoming the day's catch.
"I need a chair. Badly. A nice, nonliving chair, to be exact," she whispered to the floor. She raised one hand and felt her forehead; it was drenched in sweat, and so was her fringe of black hair. "Magical accidents...there's a lot of them in the world. Trust me, I've seen worse."

"There are some nice, non-living chairs in the practice room," Ikkin said with a smile. "I'll probably show a presentation about the different types of magic at first anyway, so it won't be a problem for you. Hopefully, everyone else should be there. And if you want, I'll have Sev carry you."
The phoenix appeared at the sound of his name. "...you can't be serious," he said, looking at Kat and back at Ikkin.
"Have I ever asked you to do something without meaning it?" she asked him. "...actually, don't answer that."

"Right, the practice room sounds ... safe. Let's be going then shall we?" Scar said nervously, glancing over his shoulder. He moved towards Kat and helped her to her feet. "You okay? And thanks for helping me back there. I appreciate it," he beamed.
He stood to attention. "Ah, where are my manners? Scar Dessan at your service, ladies."
His belly rumbled. "Erm, requesting catering services," he added sheepishly.

Aeri had arranged everything. After much reflection, she had dug the burrow some more, so that she would have enough place to at least lay in her human form, gathering the black crystal she digged from the ground at the same time. She had covered the walls with a homemade, cement-like thing she had dried using a little Energy oriented magic. Her work done, she had hunted dinner; an unlucky rabbit. She had never liked killing any living beings, but she DID need to eat.
She still had some things to do, she thought, as she ate the raw bunny in her mini-dragon form. Beside, she needed to leave them some peace and quiet, to better create havoc, the next day. She grinned, as her mind wandered as her belly filled itself...

"I'm...fine," whispered Kat as Scar helped her up. She tottered slightly on her feet, but managed not to fall again. "You know...Aerisa would...kill...me if she found you..."
She paused, feeling a surge of nausea. Perhaps this was not the time to talk about anything, including her 'shipping opinions.

Scar tilted his head quizzically to one side. "Aeri? Oh she wouldn't kill you, Kat. Besides, why would she kill you if she found me?" he said brightly, escorting her to where a grumpy-looking Sev was waiting.
"In fact, she wouldn't even hurt a rabbit."

Ginz hadn't immeditely followed Ikkin, but when she heard so much noise, she ran to see what was going on. She got there just to see the end of Kat's spell that had managed to save Scar. No one saw her, or she thought no one did, because she stayed out just standing in the doorway.
Ginz looked at the chair, an idea forming in her mind. The chair was special, she had seen that, but it wasn't particularly unique in how it looked. It was still really dangerous. Even if everyone was warned, someone could absent-mindedly sit on it any other day.
Ginz didn't wait for the others and walked to find the practice room. All the way there, the idea on her mind just grew and took form.
She wanted to do something for that chair, make it alive. Well, technically, it was alive, but no one would guess by looking at it. It had no eyes, no mouth, no nothing. Ginz wanted to give the chair something.
She had no idea how to do that, but she figured that was what the library was for. She would invite others to join her in the project, but would take on it even if no one wanted to help. It would be fun, and keep her ocuppied.
She oppened the door of the practice room and stepped inside.
