((Ok, I've decided to start a Tortall RPG, cause whoopee, I'm bored. Anyway, profiley for meh character. Name: Saioka <Sigh-oh-ka> of Daonal, called Sai by her few friends. Age: 12 Description: Black hair, grey-green eyes, rimmed with gold and brown. Lightly tanned skin. About 5'5. Relatively strong. Personality: Doesn't give up in what she believes in, very determined. Sharp tounge, and a love for learning. She loves to read and ride horses. Isn't very social, doesn't make friends easily. Very tomboyish. Other Stuff: Sai is a page, second year, started at 11, as normal. Daonal (which I made up, but never mind that), where she comes from, is on the coast, near Port Caynn. Begged to be allowed to train as a page until her father finally gave in. Her mother was all for it, but her father resisted, saying that she should become a proper lady. Eventually, he gave in, but not without some resentment.)) Saioka flew through the halls of the castle. She was late for training. How could she have fallen asleep over math? The priest who taught it had been angry with her, and lectured her before giving her more problems for punishment. She sighed, and galloped faster, hoping she wouldn't recieve a terribly large amount of punishment for her tardiness. She already had math to do.

Ooh! Tortall!
Morien Age: 12 Appearance: Short and skinny, but weights a lot more than she looks. Dark brown eyes and dark brown hair, tanned, around 5 feet tall. Bio: Born to a commoner family, she started working at the palace at the age of 5 when her mother abandoned her. She started sneaking into fighting classes when she was 9, and was finally allowed to start taking real classes at the age of 11, with the other people her age. Still preferrs stablework to math and sciences, but knows she needs a future. Likes fighting above all, and archery, riding, etc. Personality: Determined, tomboyish, speaks her mind always, doesn't like learning maths, but likes learning about the world and skills. Friendly, but always speaks her mind. Very realistic.
((Will join RP later. Gotta eat! Yum.))

{This is Tortall as in Tamora Pierce, right?
Hmmm.... I'll do the twins! Haven't used them since the Zelda RP...
Hope you don't mind me creating a new noble family... I couldn't think of any other way to make them pages....
Names: Cillinar & Kahrnii (pronounced SILL-ih-nar CAW-nee) Nicknames: Cill (sill) Kahr (cawr) Age: Around 11. Appearance: Rather tall for their age, their hair is black and about 2 inches long all around their heads, except for the back of their heads where they have a long braid reaching past their knees. They have one brown eye and one pale blue eye, giving people the impression they're half blind (though in truth it's just a side-effect of being in the Tillaser family). Attitude: Cill is more outgoing, rather arrogant, and rarely looks at anyone without smirking or glaring. She often uses her strength against others to get them out of her way, and keep them from bothering her. Kahr is sort of the balancer: he's quiet, kind, and usually keeps to himself, other than a remark or two to keep Cill in line. Besides this, he does his best not to make any enemies, but those who are his enemies... Bio: Their family, Tillaser, is rather reclusive, and not many people take notice of them or know that much about them. They live near a rather large river, but own relatively little land and aren't that powerful for nobles. However, the entire family are good fighters and wouldn't deny Cill training as a knight-as if they could. Cill prefers to fight with her sword, and is a failure at any sort of magic or hand-to-hand combat. She has a deep mistrust of horses, not believing that they could be suitable to sit on, let alone carry you out of danger if you're outnumbered. Kahr, as the exact opposite, prefers hand combat to any other and finds his magical ability quite useful. He can use a sword and any other weapon with skill, but his true ability lies in hand combat.

((Yep, Tortall as in Tamora Pierce.)) Flying toward the field, Saioka just managed to get there, fling tack on her tall black gelding, Shadow, and ride out before being noticed. The teacher was just talking. '..now that you've heard the basics, we're going to start learning some tilting. Everyone grab a lance, and line up.' Saioka groaned inwardly. She'd missed the talk, when they were starting something new. Well, maybe she'd be able to figure it out anyway. She steered Shadow to the very end of the line containing some of the most incompetent pages, hoping maybe she'd look a little better against them.

Morien was in her physical classes; the ones she far preferred. She listened to the master give them a talk on learning something new that he always did; they were to be responsible, they were to try, and to always remember that what a Knight did was with honour, grace, and always a purpose. Morien yawned quite widely, getting some grins from her friends; everyone knew that Morien didn't really care about being a Knight, just about fighting and doing something with her life. When the talk was finished, the master talked about what they were doing. However, Morien was thinking of all the homework she had that night, and completely missed it. She turned to her friends and they had all forgotten about her, and picked up a lance. She then saw someone else riding to the end of the line; they had obviously missed the lesson, too. She quietly trotted away from the others, and joined the end of the line. She turned to the other person, who was a girl and about her age, and said, "Okay, do you know what to do? 'Cause I sure don't, and maybe it won't look so bad if we both don't know..."

Saioka said, 'I've got no idea what to do. I totally missed out on the lesson... I fell asleep in math and got a lecture, and it made me late.' The line was rapidly moving forward, then it was her turn. She gulped, and urged Shadow into a canter. Trying to position the large and awkward lance, she managed to hit the very edge of the target. Lucky shot. She'd have to figure out how to really do this, she might not be so lucky next time. And she couldn't risk poking Shadow's eye out.

Morien was after the girl, and prayed her natural co-ordination would prove true again. She got her lance in front of her, and aimed for the target. Her horse started to canter, and the lance pierced right through the center of the target. Even she couldn't believe her luck. She grinned at her friends, who grinned back, and Marien made several faces, some laughing at them, some expressing how she couldn't believe it. She went to the back of the line again. SHe smiled at the other girl. "It was a lucky shot..."

Saioka pulled a face. 'Well, you seem to be a lot luckier than me,' she said, laughing. Then she held out her hand, resting the big lance on her saddle, 'I'm Saioka, what's your name?'

Morien grinned. "I'm Morien." she said as she shook Saioka's hand. "You been here long?"

{Sorry it took so long... Dad gave me a ride down the hill from school, then we went to the movie place, then I remembered there was a game I wanted to rent... And then I remembered that I'd have to play it 'till hell froze over if I wanted to make my $5 a night worth it. And then I remembered I had to watch Terminator 3 with my dad. And then I remembered I wasn't going to miss seeing how they did all the special effects since I had the DVD version and was able to. And THEN I remembered to post here.}
I glanced around at the others in my class. Cill and I had just come back from magic lessons, so she was in a rather bad mood. Especially since she summoned a fireball to light a candle and got extra detentions and homework.
I grimaced, thanking the gods that we slept on opposite ends of the hall. Cill was unbearable at the best of times. After morning's quarterstaff practice, and with the fireball fiasco, she wasn't in a very good mood. Luckily, fencing was the next class. That should calm her down a bit.
"Cheat," muttered Cill from my side. I looked over and saw someone trotting away from the target.
"How'd she cheat? If she got on the target, then she's just a good aim," I told her.
"Have some of THIS good aim," she growled, aiming a punch at me. Avoiding it, I rode into the line behind another girl. I couldn't help but grin as Cill lost her balance in her saddle and nearly fell.
"Having fun?" I asked the girl in front of me politely.

Sai ruffled Shadow's mane absently. 'I've been here since I was 11, this is my second year of page training. I come from Fief Daonal. Left my 11 brothers and sisters there, thank the gods,' she said, grinning at the memory. Then she noticed Karhnii. 'Yeah, it's ok,' Saioka said in reply, 'I missed the talk beforehand, though, so I've got no idea what I'm doing, and all I can do is hope that I don't poke Shadow's eye out.'

Morien looked behind her to see a boy talking to Saioka. She grinned and moved her horse slightly to join in the conversation. "I missed it too, but I suppose I got a stroke of good luck..."
