((Okay... I'm kinda new at creating a successful RP (as you will discover if you go to the final page on the RP board) so really hope I get more than one post from one person, this time... For those of you who don't know the Forgotten Realms books, just think of a somewhat more detailed Middle Earth with a lot more large cities and a lot more races and stuff... and more kinds of races... (instead of just elves, there'll be Moon elves, Gold elves, Forest Elves... you get the picture) Profile: ntwriters.proboards7.com/index.cgi?board=roleplay&action=display&n=1&thread=4081&start=195Very first post.)) I walked around the city of Waterdeep with my hood drawn low. Few people had any trust for elves, let alone those of the Moon Tribe, and I had little wish to get into a fight. Pausing to rest at a fountain, I looked up at the sky. If nothing else, the sky was peaceful. Which was more than I could say about plenty of places I had been in.

Name: Lina Tai Race: Um... some kind of elf/human mix... Age: Not too old - seventeen? Appearance: In the day, her hair is flame red and her eyes are ice blue. In the night, her hair is blue and her eyes are red... She's of average height. Lina wears blue and red, like her hair and eyes... blue vest, red shirt, blue skirt and red/blue boots and... whatever the things are on her arms. Wears a pale blue cloak when travelling, but it's not for hiding her identity. She has fangs. Personality: Lina is generally quiet, but loud when she is talking. She is stubborn but tends to obey orders when she feels it is necessary. Lina fights to be the best, not for protection - she enjoys it. Special Abilities: Creation of ice and fire using only her will, and she's quite fast (and has a nasty bite) but that's about it. Bio: Lina lived with her mother for seven years, but was taken away by evil guys (hehe) who wanted to turn her into the best warrior... Unfortunately, she ran away from her training and hid for another seven years, and has been walking around, trying to find her mother and best friend for two years. (After all, it's supposed to be lots of cities, right?) Weapons: Lots of daggers (mwahaha). She likes her fangs and there are blades on her boots and arm-thingys...
Soft footsteps echoed on the empty street as a shadowy figure walked through. At the first intersection, she turned to the left and continued walking.
After a few more turns, she realized she was lost. Looking around, she noticed a figure by a fountain. She walked towards him, and said, "Can you tell me where I am? I'm sort of lost."

I watched the person approach, cautious of what they might do.
I shrugged at the question. "Some square around the richer area of Waterdeep," I told her. "I'm not entirely sure, myself-I don't carry around maps for seperate towns or anything, just the general area, since I don't spend much time in town. I know that Blackstaff Tower's a bit to the north of here, though, if that helps."
{Blackstaff tower is a pure black tower with a hidden door-magical, actually. It looks like part of the seamless black stone around it, and you have to walk through the illusion. Much to many people's nose's misfortune.}

Lina shrugged. "Not really. I can't find my way out of this city... It's far too big for me." She looked at the strange figure again, and asked, "Where do you usually live, then? I don't mean to be nosy, but maybe you can tell me what it's like... In case it's the place I'm looking for."

"Live? I'm a ranger. I live in forests, mountains-wherever I wish to be, short of villages and cities. If you want to get out of this city, though, just keep going as north as possible. Or south-whichever direction you want to go."

Lina shrugged. "I don't know. I'm looking for a certain place, but I don't remember what it is. If someone described it, or told me the name... I would know... But as I don't, I'm left to wander around looking for a place.
What's it like, to be a ranger?"

"Depends," I told her. "I was sorta forced to be a ranger-I'm not welcome in towns, and the animals like me, so being a ranger's pretty much the only thing I can do. It's nice having time to yourself, though-living in a town, it's hard to get a moment to yourself."

Lina nodded. "I don't like towns much myself. I know I'm looking for one, but a part of me wants to wander the world on my own, to find a new destination. If I may ask... why aren't you wanted in towns? People tend to be open-minded - at least some of them... But that's just my experience."

I hesitated. This person seemed nice, but you never knew... Shrugging, I pulled down my hood. If she had any ill will towards Tribesmen, I could probably knock her out and make a run for it. Or, more accurately, a fly for it.

Lina was surprised at the stranger's silence. "What's wrong? Are you afraid I have some hatred towards your species? Because... I don't. I don't fear or hate any type of people, since I've never had bad experiences with any. And even if I did... I'm not one to hold a grudge against a whole group of people."

((Impatience overload! Sorry, just couldn't wait any longer.))
Gabrielle walked towards the road. "Excuse me, do any of you two know how to get to St. Marina?" she asked.

((Oops, didn't read that. Ignore my post))
Lina shrugged. "Well, it shouldn't be how you look. I mean, you appear normal to me..." Brushing one strand of red hair off of her face, she shrugged. "Then again, I am used to peace."
A stranger's voice made her jump. Turning around, she said, "Oh... Hello. I'm sorry, but I don't know how to get to that place; in fact I've never heard of it. W-what's it like?"

"I've never really been there, but I've heard a few desciptions of it. It's this small village by the ocean, bordered with trees and lots of little huts. It's pretty much like a normal village, really." Gabrielle replied in a strong, solid voice.
