Jade didn't know what to do now. She couldn't beat the Shadow Lord, since she didn't have a staff, but she wasn't going to just sit there, waiting for help to come. She went ahead and attacked the Shadow Lord with a powerful tide of water. "Jehn-Rahg, send me a tide!" she exclaimed, holding her gem rod in front of him. A tunnel of water came out and blasted straight at the Shadow. He didn't budge a bit. "You think that's going to stop me? Think again, young lady." he said. He created a blast of dark energy and aimed it at Jade, causing her to drop her gem rod. She was expelled into the air and hit a tree. The Shadow Lord sent in another blast. This time, it tied her to the tree. Jade saw the Lord pick up her gem rod. "No!" she cried, but it was too late. He broke the rod in half, and the gem on Jade's forehead shattered into pieces. The blast the lord had sent earlier dissapeared and she fell to her knees, breathing heavily.

Iyornn heard a commotion. She turned around (Or walked to wherever Jade was :  and stared. There was the Shadow Lord. She knew dark was weak against light. "Well, fire is similar to light!" Iyorrn exlaimed loudly. The SHadow Lord looked at her. She was about to pull out her gem rod when she saw what happened to Jade. She fought the temptation to rush to Jade's side and leave herself vulnerable. Instead, she stood there for a second, her phoenix fluttering beside her. With a quick word, the phoenix began flying towards the Shadow Lord. With a blinding flash of white light, and a loud screech from the phoenix, Iyorrn looked around, and saw the Shadow Lord retreating. SHe frowned and said "He'll be back very, very soon. I know it." After that, she rushed over to Jade's side. "Jade! Your gem! It's .... GONE?" |

"Let's go, then." Nokua said to the girl, then calling for Eny to follow. Her younger sister knew when to be serious about things, so she followed her older sister.
Once the elder sister found the path, she started jogging on it. They would soon find whoever needed help...

Iyorrn stood there; her gem's broken? I didn't even think that was possible, yet alone think it could happen to Jade. "Okay, I don't know much about powers, not even my own or my Phoenix's .... but ... SHe's in trouble, isn't she?"

Brandon watched as the others went to Jade's house.
Ten minutes later he decided to go with them.
As he approached, he noticed a dark shape holding them captive, and hid behind a tree.
He watched the spectacle, in particular Jade's confession.
He silently followed Jade, and his mouth fell open when her gem broke.
Then he noticed the pieces of her staff.
He snatched them up, and rewceived Jade's plea.
"DRAGON!" he roared.

An earth shattering roar followed.
An enormous red dragon appeared in the sky.
The dragon had horns hacing back along its frill, 3-foot claws, 3-foot teeth, 40-foot wings, and a 100-foot long body.
Brandon deftly leapt onto the dragon, clutching his and jade's staff.
"FOLLOW HIM!" he commanded, and the dragon took after the shadow lord.

While Whitney was in pursuit of the Shadow Lord, she turned around to see a red dragon. "He... He has a staff! Now we can unlock Jan from the pod!" Whitney stopped, and watched the dragon go by. She turned around, and went back to Yorrn. When she arrived, she walked calmly to Yorrn. "Find as many pieces of the of the Gem as you can. If we have enough, the sword can probably, but slowly, heal her." EDIT: NOTE TO IRISHDRAGONLORD: You posses a staff, because you are one of the stronger elements, (nature covers a lot, as you know) and we posses rods. Staffs can do more then rods. Rods can't harm the Shadow Lord, only our own powers, but staffs can. Also, if you read a while back, staffs can do even MORE things, like Jan can only be let go by a staff, or lots of light. I knew you were gone for a while, so, just incase you didn't read everything, (which I don't blame you for) I just thought I'd post this. |

"TORK THAT FOOL!"
The dragon swooped and landed in front of the shadow lord, releasng a belch of flame.
As the smoke subsided, the Shadow Lord laughed.
"You cant harm me! Your rods can do n-"
His sentence stoppped short as he saw Brandon's staff.
"Oh yes, I know that. But htis is a staff I have. And guess what? I'm the one the girl told you about. Even better, my element is nature. And guess what? That includes light."
He pointed his stafff and the Shadow lord, and a single, pulsating beam of white light tore through his chest.
The Sahdow Lord screamed and dissipated into the air.
Brandon clamebered back onto the dragon. They wouldnt hear from HIM for a while...

Iyorrn hid her slight frown. "There must be about a thousand of those pieces..." she muttered to her phoenix. She knelt down, glancing at the ground for the glowing shards of Jade's gemstone.

Clay walks out of the bushes with a smirk.
"I'm right here."
"Oh, good!" says Whitney, "What happened after you--
"Whitney, we have a problem!" says Mai, "Jan's pod is gone!"
