Kae gasped as the first wave of water hit her. "C-cold...," she said. "Freezing!" Regaining her senses again, she punched the water person in the face. What was wrong with her? She wasn't the same...
Her eyes went to her knife. It wouldn't be right, but maybe some small cut would help. She reached for it, but tripped and fell on her face. Unable to move, her hand reached desperately for the knife.

Jade's gem switched to light orange when she saw Kae punch her, then changed almost instantly to deep red. She sent another blast of freezing water to her, and a few tears came to her eyes as her gem switched to orange again. As before, it switched instantly back to deep red.

By now, Kae was really injured from all the water. Not only was she freezing, the icy daggers of water had penetrated her skin in places on her body. Focusing her remaining energy into her fist, she punched the girl's stomach. Gripping the dagger with the other hand, she stepped forward and stabbed her shoulder. After this, she gasped, "I'm...sorry...." and collapsed on the ground.

With Kae's last words, Jade's gem switched back to pure white. She started crying and knelt near to kae's body. "I'm so sorry..." she wept(is that even good grammar?). "I just couldn't control my actions.." she held Kae,s hand, hoping it would help her get back to her senses.

Kae's eyes opened for a minute, then she squeezed them shut. "No... I'm sorry. I shouldn't have attacked you, it's just that... I don't know why you did that. I deserve to die, I could have killed you."

"No, really. You did what you had to do. I'll never forgive myself for what I did. Twice now..." Jade replied. She started to feel the pain in her shoulder. She felt the blood trickle down her pure white kimono and looked at the slash. It was pretty big, but not nearly as big as the slash the golem had done on her arm. She felt weaker and weaker as the blood leaked from both slashes. Her head ached like crazy, and she was out of energy. She collapsed from all of the pain, and was barely breathing.

Kae jumped as the water girl fell to the ground. It must be all the blood she lost... She knelt and pulled some bandages out of her bag and wrapped them around the two bleeding wounds. "I'm really sorry, you could die because of me... You weren't able to control yourself, were you. Maybe your mind is weaker and more controllable than the others?" She looked around, but no one who might have skill in healing was around. "Oh please don't die... I don't know your name. I'm Kae..."

"Jade... Nice name." Placing both hands on Jade's shoulders, Kae propped her up on a rock. "You have to LIVE. Not die, live. I don't know how I can help you... but I'll find someone who will."

"Please...go and...help the others...." Jade replied. Even though she was half consious, she still knew it was best for kae to go and help the others protect the gem sword. It would be better if she was the only one who died, then for all of them to be doomed.

That's it! remembered Jan, The Gem Sword shanged Clay to light once... So I don't see why it wouldn't do that again! Jan swinged the sword inches away from Clays gem. Clay slowly backed off, but then tried to grab the sword with his ancient armor glove. The sword burnt him, and he fell back. The only way he could get it is by the handle. He'd hale to take it by force. He swinged a kick... Jan ducked. Jan swung the sword... Clay jumped. With his new armor, and darkness, Clay seemed pretty matched with Jan... Maybe even better. As Clay came back down from his jump, he kicked Jan down, and the sword went swirling across the ground. Clay approached it, then picked it up. "NO!!!" shouted Jan. But as Clay was holding it, the tip seemed as if it was being pulled to the gem. It came closer, and it seemed to be unstopable. Clay dropped it, and fell back, before it could get at him. The Scales came running over, and picked up the sword. They merged into the ground, and were gone. But Jan picked up the sword. "Hey... This is the sword alright." The gem in the middle glowed. "Then... What did they take?"
About twenty shadows appeared on the ground. Shadow spiders. They run out to the others, and Clay directly attacks Jan.

((Oh boy... I got quite a bit to catch up to...))
Nokua and Eny had been shoved away by Obrai as the beams headed their way. He was hit head on by both of them, though not directly at his gem. The yellow robes that he wore tore in almost every place possible, reaching his skin. An incredible amount of deep cuts and wounds appeared on his body, and started gushing blood. He'd soon faint from blood loss, and would probably take a while to heal.
Nokua looked at him with a worried expression. Then, the shadow spiders came. Eny looked at them with fear... they had been the things that had attacked her before. As her fear grew, birds appeared in the bushes and in the trees... as if they could sense her somehow.
Nokua got up and told Eny to stay by Obrai. She slid into a defensive position, staff in hand. Closing her eyes, she concentrated on her staff, willing it's ends to form into axes. It worked... but only half-way. There were big, strange lumps at both ends ((Tee hee... Now it looks like a wooden Q-tip)), but they looked nothing like axes. She shrugged... I suppose it's better than nothing.

Jade already felt a little better. She was breathing normally again. "Protect the sword, if it gets taken, we're all doomed. Please, do this for me..." she said.

Kae said, "How can I do that... I can't even use powers in battle, and I can't use my fists and feet on a monster like that!" Strange, Jade seemed to have taken almost mortal injuries but she wasn't dead yet... "You're stronger than I thought."
