Guess so. I think though that we usually set up a GW specific persona thread though to help weed out the inactives...of course then people become inactive anyways...
so I guess we may as well. Some profiles could prolly use some updating too. Will be a nice chance/nudge for people to update them.

Look what I has :3 For the subboard, in place of the old individual banners. Except I tried putting it there last night and it looks much too big. Although it also looked rather spiffy with the board borders, as if a window to a new world or something. So, hm... whatchu think? Good? Bad? Needs editing? No putting icky pics on the subboard in the first place?

No putting icky pics on the subboard in the first place? Ooh, very spiffy indeed. Put it on Lore for a few days to see if people mind the stretch, that may be the best way to decide whether it fits there or not. Honestly, I don't think there should be much of a problem. I mean, we dealt just fine with six sub-boards and their individual banners stretching out the top of the page, so I don't see why one will be a problem.

And now for a double post.
I don't know about anyone else, but I really like how the page looks with the new image. It's kind of like a friendly greeting, "Hello, you are now entering this world" sort of thing.

I don't mind its size and relative stretchiness at all. I actually did a mental jump when I first saw it there -- like you said, it looks like a window into another world. It adds a lot of life and atmosphere to the board. :3

Hunty, I love it! Never quite imagined the castle was red, but hey, we'll work with it. ~_^ I must admit, though, whoever's flying the spaceship should turn up soon. Looks like it might crash. Anywho, a single profile thread on the Lore board would be great, I think. Someone should keep a list of all the profiles, maybe link to them by guild in a bunch of spoiler boxes? That would really make it user friendly! ^_^

I sortof took a lot of artistic liberty because I flat-out didn't know what most of the bases look like xD The Weewoo is the only one I know from top to, eh, keel, and that's only because I created her. With Kestrel, I just went by the Estonian medieval castle roofing that was pretty much always red, not sure if it was the most available material at the time or simply because ye olde castle builders liked the red-grey combo. Should look into this.
I actually still have the entire image in a layered Paintshop file so I can edit the coloring any time (if I'm crazy enough, I could draw a nighttime version and alternate them every once in a while *wishful thinking*)

You could even draw progressive pictures with the Weewoo sailing around and that spacefleet ship continuing its current coarse.

How about seasonal images instead? Spring, Summer, Winter, Fall...that sorta thing. Then they could be changed accordingly, really reflect how this is whole world is actually, you know, like a real world. (:
([edit] - Just had a thought: Not sure if it'd be able to work quite like this or not, but instead of changing the picture too much or redrawing it, you could just add a layer overtop it to recolor and adjust the image for the different seasons, like snow in winter, leaves in fall, flowers in spring, etc.... Guess I sorta think the present one looks a lot like summer, being that it is summer now...so.... Anyways, the only thing that I think might be better moved around would be the ships, since naturally they wouldn't be in the same place the entire time like the rest of the HQs. But, yeah, that's my soapbox. I'm stepping off now, I promise.)
The castle's colors actually look really good in contrast to the rest of the image (the blues of Mage Manor and the greens of the trees, for example), so I really can't think of anything that would look any better. The castle's never really had any definite shape or appearance before, so finally having this, we'll just run with it. The lore is more important than the looks, after all, and I'll get to work on that after I'm back in the States.
The one inconsistancy with canon that I can't believe I didn't notice before is that the castle is backed by mountains, which doesn't especially seem represented in the photo. But, hey, it's just a general world overview, so something like that doesn't really matter much, I think. Like I said, in roleplays it's pretty much canon, so it'll always be a known fact and a strategic point of the guild, but in pictures, what does it matter? Perhaps ironically, however, I always imaged the Knights east of the Mages, not in the center of the guilds. But since borders have never been defined before, like I said, we'll just work with it. (:
...Hey, does this mean we're no longer working on a map of the NTWF?

(: ...I love this idea =D More so since it'll be less work. *koff* Won't be particularly hard either, I'll see if I can get autumn done before the next equinox >> (Plus, we generally celebrate or at least acknowledge all solstices and equinoxes, so it won't be hard to remember to change.) And if upcoming GWs and other events mess up the climate again, there could be out-of-season images. The Weewoo at least won't need to move because she's anchored (it's the secret Dunburrow hideout behind the cliff that became canon in GW2 and, um, is probably not so secret any more, what with everyone flocking there when the ship got Beekadoodle'd). The spaceship is a more difficult case because the lineart and the color are on separate layers, but I'll be able to think of something, it's a pretty simple item. With Kestrel, I guess I mostly went by this castle, largely because I've been there and can imagine it working xD It was a pretty standard way of castle-building in these parts around the middle ages. And I don't consider the pic to be canon, in fact. It's more of a general metaphorical reference (the bases are far too close to each other to work well, for starters; we'd be a mite uncomfortable living in such a close proximity from each other, but if I'd made the distances more realistic, it'd mostly be a blob of green forests and plains with little dot-houses in the middle). Plus I didn't actually have any references to the scenery or bases at hand, drew it at work the other day when we didn't have internet - our cables get stolen on a regular basis xD - so don't take it as a rock-solid map. Should we ever get the guilds mapped out one day, I might make a new one, but even so the distances will probably be scaled down.

That's a really nice picture Hunty! ^_^ I see what you mean about it not being canon, but that's no worry right now, indeed.
Well, when/if we do a guild map project, that could be taken care of. All I know right now is that the main dojo is supposedly on a mountain and that my own place is at the base of the mountain next to a lake. Everyone else is either unknown (to my knowledge) or in the mountain itself.

Fair enough. I'm glad you rounded out the edges in the picture, though; such a square castle looks more churchly than castly, so it works out well. :) I actually went to the ruins of a castle here in Israel, so I'll be sure to get those pictures up when I can after I get back to the States. There's already been a few attempts, but because of the complexity of the issue, they tend to fizzle out fairly soon after they begin. Perhaps with the restructuring of the guilds, at least our lands might be able to stick to it somewhat better than before should another attempt arise. Anyways, what I wanted to comment upon was the landmarks you mentioned: Dunburrow sits at the base of the mountains, and a little bit west of the castle, there's a lake as well. We've had no encounters with Ninjas, however, so it might just be coincidence.

Umm I has a question. For the Guild personas, are we having one giant collab. thread with the personas from all guilds? Or keeping them seperated? I think seperated would be much more neat. Actually I was thinking, what if we had one more sub-board for personas, and just move the persona threads from each guild there. That way we wouldn't need to rewrite all our personas, and it would be fairly organised. Or put each thread into the sub board we have now, and not integrate it into one giant thread. Well, I can tell you the Merc HQ is in the middle of a forest, about a day ourney away is a town, and about a day's journey from that is Takehiko-sama's castle.

Well, I can tell you the Merc HQ is in the middle of a forest, about a day ourney away is a town, and about a day's journey from that is Takehiko-sama's castle. Remember, we just got rid of six sub-boards. It would be a bit absurd to add a second one again so soon, especially if it will only hold six threads. Here's the thing. We're in the midst of doing a lot of restructuring right now. Some of the persona threads are painfully out of date. A week or so ago, I decided to update my original Spacefleet persona, and ended up deleting and rewriting more than half of it. (And given that that post was a textwall, that's saying something.) I think this is the perfect time to update our personae. You don't have to if you don't want to, but the option and incentive is there now. It really doesn't take that much time to write up. I see you already got all four of your characters on the General Persona thread. I'm guessing you just C&Ped all of the profiles--it didn't take long at all, did it? As for the issue of organization: Which is more messy, six threads with links to profiles in the first post, or one thread with links to profiles in the first post? I won't say anything more on this matter. Really, this is such a trivial issue that it shouldn't have to spur that much discussion. The general profile thread is there if people want to use it. If they want it, then it will become a handy index. If not, then it will die, and I may ask for it to be deleted so CC doesn't get cluttered. It's as simple as that.
