So you mean the whole HQ threads then? I thought you just meant a subboard for housing Guild Lore.
In that matter, I'm not particularly one way or another about it. I'm not sure a subboard is entirely called for (especially since we just finished cleaning off subboards that had more going for them than this does XD ), but *shrug* whatever?

I'm not sure a subboard is entirely called for (especially since we just finished cleaning off subboards that had more going for them than this does XD ), but *shrug* whatever? It'd be kind of a mixture between the two ideas - it'd hold the "official" aspects of the guild, as well as the lore. I just don't like the idea of the guild HQs seeming so unimportant as to only be a sticky, and one board is still a lot fewer than a board per guild. =P

May I suggest that we also move all "memory lane" Guild related threads to the "lore board"? Unless we don't want to risk another GW2 incident. Space Fleet has given up in their research for finding a way of retrieving it. There was a brief dabbling into time travel but we couldn't seem to find it in the past either....
anyways...
I do like the idea of a lore board. The guilds keep getting crazier and crazier each year and keep building up on little bits of important info about the universe. Fun little things like don't-enter-the-mage-manor-with-ill-intent-the-building-knows-what-you're-thinking-and-will-kick-your-butt type stuff. Or the whole history about the ownership of the White Weewoo and why it's not capable of flight on rare occasions.
It's not even necessarily a sub-board that will be there for the purpose of constant use updates, just a store of info. Clubhouses in said lore-board though... eh, why not?
As for that whole "general chat but in character" thing, we do that quite often in SF, and we're also doing that a bit with the RCP. In SF it usually pertains to planning stuff for the guild, or our character, and it turns into a non-rp-but-in-semi-character discussion. The New Construction thread is doing it right now and the old Labs Thread was good for that. It may not be general discussion but I think it's something similar to what was being talked about.

Space Fleet has given up in their research for finding a way of retrieving it. There was a brief dabbling into time travel but we couldn't seem to find it in the past either.... The only related threads in ML are the two GWs and possibly also the GW Memorable Quotes thread, which never got much traffic. And even if there was another asplosion in moving, wouldn't matter much, I still have the entire GW2 in a Word document and it'd only take me a couple hours of pasting to recreate the thread. Either way, I rather like this whole lore-subboard plan together with the general guild threads. No sticky overload in the general guilds board, a certain air of officiality and separation for the HQs, a nice compact system of archiving all the important guildly stuff... me likey :3 *cue two thumbs up and a cheesy grin* It may not get insane amounts of traffic, but it'll certainly be useful considering the load of information it'd contain. As it is, the only way of really knowing what's happened in the guilds' past would be... well, either asking someone or just having been there yourself. Or reading back like crazy.

Oookay, rather seems to me that there's no point in further stalling. Those who have seen this have seen this and had a word in, and those who still haven't after all this time probably aren't interested enough in the guilds to care too much. So, the final verdict is merged boards and one lore-subboard, yes? Final chance for yays and nays, I'll give it another day and then it's time for the big changes.

Sounds good to me Hunty. A sub-board will be something that only truly interested people will look into, which is the type of person that looks at "lore" posts anyway. In that it keeps the active area less cluttered I think it helps a good bit.

Another yay. Perhaps I should have weighed in more on this thread, but all the good points have been said quite well.

Yea here, as well. ^_^
Though, I still have to wonder who's going to be tasked with the creation of lore-posts.

I don't know, Ikkin... I thought you volunteered.. ...nobody's able to do that all by their onesies xD Nah, I believe this'll be the task of all individual guilds. We all still have devoted people left in each guild, methinks. And anyone interested enough can sniff through the past threads of another guild in order to earn the glorious title of Guild Historian and so forth. We're not in a terrible hurry with getting them done. I get home sometime in ten hours, so if someone suggested a good name for the loreboard by then, would be appreciated x3

I figured the lore board would kinda be a collective project...

Never before have I had such an D: moment when clicking 'Delete Board'. And I had to do it six times over. *soppy moment of silence* Ohwell, they're not getting any deader =D Back to work. So, I've created the lore-subboard (and I wasn't kidding when I said that I could use suggestions for the board name. I'm not particularly creative and the name can be edited any time, so feel free to nom on the current version). All guilds are free to create HQ threads in there, I-or-any-other-currently-available-mod will sticky 'em once they're up there. I'm in fact not sure what to do with the sign-up threads; logic says that they should also go in the command center, but I don't know how much of an overhaul you guys want and whether you'll be creating new ones to start fresh with the roster. I reckon there won't be many threads in there even in the long run, so we can well space things out a bit for the sake of categorization. I'll probably make a separate thread to explain the Weewoo and the logic behind her build and history and suchlike, for example. And I'd much appreciate to see a similar thing on Mage Manor. On that note, I saved the links to all the Strife-made pics that were on the subboards, so if you want to reuse them: img63.imageshack.us/img63/7968/mmoh9.pngimg90.imageshack.us/img90/7007/pgyb3.pngimg78.imageshack.us/img78/8650/ndgj0.pngimg208.imageshack.us/img208/1677/kontwfxf6.pngimg87.imageshack.us/img87/9807/sfip6.pngimg231.imageshack.us/img231/7642/mgsv5.png(I'ma thinking of drawing something shiny for the loreboard as well, just to make it look spiffier than any other ol' subboard. Watch this space x3 *already got inspirayshun'd*) And I'll probably edit the rule thread shortly (not sure whether that should be kept here or moved to the subboard) and in general there's a heckuvalot of work to do, so get crackin', people, the Guilds need your lifeblood now more than ever.

I'd be happy to do anything for the Mages or Knights, but I'm new-ish in both guilds so I don't want to jump the gun, plus I know very little about Castle Kestrel or Mage Manor. D:

A day late, a dollar short, with swine flu to boot, but I've finally caught up on this. ^_^
And I support all the major decisions, no matter how much I felt D8 when I came to read the rest of this and saw all the subboards gone. I'm not sure what to do yet, but I'd love to keep tabs on the Knights thread, so someone up top should give me a summary of what to do so I can get it up and running before I leave quarantine and actually have something to do again. Ergo. I mean. TODAY.
That said, it'll be rather quick to complete, since I've mostly just got to copy everything from the other Knights threads and compile them accordingly. Might also have to write the last RP summary, too, since it's officially ended, and then...yeah, not much. Seriously. Couple hours tops.
Guess I'll get caught up on the new rules in the mean time.
[edit] And, Hunty, I'm not sure if it's just me or not, but those image links aren't working right.
[editedit] No...it's just the Knights banner that's not working. *sniffle* Pleasepleaseplease fix it.

In either case, I know the Knight banner wasn't showing up for a while under the old subboard before I went to delete them, so it was probably an issue on the image host's end. It's showing up now. Would probably pay to save them somewhere just in case. What I originally came to say: hey guys, would it pay to create an all-guild persona thread in the subboard? For the sake of easy reference and to make it less complicated for people in multiple guilds and GWs would be easier to handle and then we wouldn't have to skim through all individual guild threads if we want to know which person is in which guild and what their profile is like.
