Peppercat runs by and starts shooting like a madman! It's fun to watch but really harmless.

"Since I have nowhere else to go and nothing else to do, except for gather food and water, not to mention other supplies, I'll keep the power."

Leslie nodded. "Me too. Not that it will help me now..."

Suddenly, a green mist comes up to the two. It splits in half. Hannah gasps.
"Oh no! Another foreshadow! They're here to scare us off with our true fear!"
One cloud came up to Hannah and opened up a portal. Out cane a swarm of...
"Hornets! My true fear!" Hannah starts running to the lake, cowardly, with the hornets chasing after Hannah. Then, she stops.
"Wait! I have power! What am I doing?"
Hannah takes out a ribbon from her pocket and runs to the lake. She catches a fish and ties it to the string. Then ties it on a tree over the lake. The hornets turn their attention to the meat and fly towards it.
"Thank goodness for my lookup on hornets." Hannah muttered to herself. "Soon, they'll be swimming with the fishes, hopefully."
Meanwhile, the other cloud opens up to reveal Leslie's true fear. There showed...

An enormous, wrought-iron chair with chains covering the prickly armrests. Leslie was immediately shackled to the horrid metal throne, and unable to escape. "It's helplessness!" she exclaimed, "I'm afraid of helplessnesss! What do I do now?"

Just as the hornets start to drop into the lake and drown, Hannah turns around and sees Leslie stuck in a chair. Hannah knows she can't help Leslie, but she has an idea.
"If she is water elemented or able to summon water," Hannah says to herself. "Then she should be able to rust the chains!" Hannah can only hope Leslie hears that.

Leslie's eyes were closed. "Way ahead of you!" she replied, yelling to be heard over the whooshing of her own water. Instead of simply rusting, the iron melted away like ice.

Hannah thought to herself "I thought they would rust so she could break the chians, but okay."
Hannah saw a hornet fly away from the meat.
"Wait, they usually just continue eating so that they can't fly and drown! What's with that?"
The hornet starts flying towards Hannah. Hannah lets out a bloodcurdling scream.

Seeing her friend's distress, Leslie summons a stream of water at the hornets. The liquid evaporates into white mist before it reaches the hornets. Leslie shrugged, confused. "Maybe you have to use your own element or something."

"Use my own element?! But how am I going to do... wait!"
Hannah focuses in on the hornet, and the wings suddenly snap off. The hornet drops to the ground before it could reach her right arm.
"For some reason hornets like my right arm."

Leslie arched her eyebrows. "What was that? What's your element, anyway?"

"I've never liked hornets. My element is earth, but when I express a hate, something happens, like the wings of a hornet dropping off. That's my educated guess."

Leslie shrugged. "Strange. I thought you were a healer." Norina nodded, looked somewhat disgruntled at being ignored after her mysterious reappearance. "She is. You remember the tree you demolished earlier? Creation and destruction are two components of the same thing. Pieces of both are necessary for balance. Tread the line carefully, so as not to transgress into the darker regions of your power."

"Darker reigons of our power? Does that mean that our place would go to evil, even if we started out good?"
Suddenly, a vine came out of Hannah's hand.
"Odd, that was never there before."

Norina seemed not to notice the vine. "The thing you have to understand about beginner's power is that it is pure energy- not good or evil. It is the one who welds it who holds the qualities. If, however, the mage becomes so corrupt, so evil that nothing can be done, then the very energy of the magic will be tainted. So yes, that is where the magic becomes evil."
