Is it likely that the 10th birthday NT issue could be a special issue? And if it is a special issue, is it your acceptance neomail which includes what your prize is or do you receive another neomail after your work has been published? I'm asking because I got published in this weeks issue and it looks kinda special with all the birthday stuff! Not every special issue gives out prizes, including this one. And you get a separate neomail stating the prize you've won. And congrats on getting published

I've been an avid reader of the NT for ages so it was about time I gave it a go And thanks for the info, I wasn't expecting a prize i just thought that maybe this issue could be a special one

Dear Abra,
Congratulations! Your entry (Pint-Sized (Part 1)) has been selected to appear in a future issue of the Neopian Times. A shiny trophy has been added to your user lookup. Thank you for contributing to the Neopian Times!
... o_____o When is the Christmas issue? 'Cause if it's the week of the 21st my Christmas series didn't get in. ;O; I'm an idiot, I should have specified! T________T gauh

Well if its clearly a Christmas series you probably didn't need to specify. Don't stress yourself out too much.

Congratulations! For your entry in the Neopian Times Fyora Day Issue, you have been awarded a Faerie Paint Brush! Queen Fyora would like to thank you for your gracious contribution to the finest news source in Neopia. -- I'm still not used to the prizes. I got a Meepit from a PC win about a week or two ago, and that bowled me over. (I'd never had more than about 800,000 on any account in my life.) Auctioned it off for 1.5 mil. And now THIS. *completely dies* I just about had a stroke when I read that.

Your story, "The Co Worker", has been submitted successfully.
Well, this'll pass through Usukicon and Mutant Day if published. xD I didn't realise there were so many special issues.

Oh, goodness. Mutant Day is coming up... I nearly forgot.
Grey Paint Brush for Grey Day. :3 "Now your pets can look sad and full of angst!"
Anybody have any idea who judges the Poetry Competition?
And yes, the Poetry Competition prizes can range from a dubloon to a Pirate Paint Brush (I nearly fell of my chair when I looked in my inventory. xD).

Question, how early do you typically have to submit for a special issue? For issue 450 people were recommending one month, but the "fiftieths" gets a lot more interest than other special issues, right?
I was thinking about doing a one-shot story for usukicon, but I'm not sure if I'll have time.

When should we start submitting stuff for the Halloween issue? I have a piece (not quite sure whether it's a short story or an article yet) that's almost finished and was mostly wondering if submitting it within the next week or so would be too soon. Thanks in advance

I think it'd be fine. The Halloween Issue will probably be on the 29th so I think I'm going to submit mine this Saturday. That leaves 4 weeks until the issue.
