((Kathleen, it would be best if you read the pages prior to you entrance. That way, you'll understand the story a bit better and you're also caught up with current events)) ((I did - read all of them; what did I do wrong? I couldn't exactly do a lot about the 'barrier', except pretend she was already through or whatever. >.>; *sigh*))

((That's fine, you didn't do anything wrong. However, there is a request from my character *nudge nudge*))

"Kathleen, do you mind heading out again? There's something that I need to know. We'll explain later"
At the sound of a familiar voice, a thoroughly confused and none-too-happy Kathleen turned around from gaping at the fountain. That was a little disturbing.
"Lupehunter?" she questioned, frowning. "Er.. I suppose." She followed him out.

Nova's eyes narrowed as Goosh jerked away Kats wand that was against his throat. He immediately conjured up large fireballs in his hands, and threateningly, he spoke. "Leave my wife alone. Goosh, you are the prime suspect right here, and I hope you know that. Three disappearances and blood in your fountain, and above all, no alibi. Unless you do have solid proof that you were really looking for refreshments during every single disappearance, don't expect much sympathy or support."
Nova then remembered the book Kat came up with. "Let's see if that contains any clues..."

Lupehunter followed Kathleen out. There didn't seem to be a barrier at the door, but he didn't note it.
"Kathleen, it would have been better that you stayed at home, but now that you're here, I'm going to have to tell you. Currently, Ikkin and Crystal have mysteriously disappeared from this mansion and I don't trust Goosh that much with his 'sweet talk'. With those disappearances, everyone is a little bit on edge. Now that I've told you this, let's head back and keep and eye out just in case," he told her.

Craig was not happy.
Goosh had returned to the ballroom, and several of the party guests were bristling with emotion at his nonchalant replies to their interrogations. Kat clenched her wand, Nova stood with fireballs in his hands, and Rider was staring at the Yurble as she awaited his answer to her question. Lupehunter was whispering with Kathleen. Ginz, Lulu, Celestial, Zylaa, and Hunter were standing between the snack tables and the window, through which the ornamental fountain could be seen continuing to spew red water into the red herring pond.
Craig poured himself a glass of punch. This was simply too much.
He had come to the NTWF Halloween party in hopes of having a good time, not to be caught up in a whirlwind of disappearances and accusations. With Ikkin and Crystal gone, and Huntress along with several of the other invitees having never arrived to the manor... well, Craig was too confused to be worried or afraid. What was really going on?
He walked up to Kat and asked for the book she had found, still dripping blood. ...Or perhaps it was just sour punch?
He frowned. "Let's have a look at that. First, a book on poisons from the Mages guild, then a bleeding book from Goosh's library? And still no one has taken the time to read through them. I say, instead of doing any more exploring, shouting, leaving the room, eating, drinking, performing experiments, or anything else... we sit down and look at the only real evidence that we have."

[glow=red,2,300]"I've never agreed with you more, Craig," Rider said with more than a little relief in her voice. "Fighting will do us no good, not unelss we have solid evidence to back it up with."
She picked up the bloody book. "It's still damp. Now, I know it ain't my blood. Katkat, Fj0rd, guys, is it yours? kat, can you run tests on this stuff? Or even take a closer look at it."
She took the book on poisons. "Now whatever pills were in Crystal's drink have long-since dissolved and the punch is all over the table. I'm reluctant to touch it until we know what it is, and we can't know what it is unless we touch it. The book's mere presence here is enough to make me a mite twitchy."
She flipped through the pages. "Pesticides, rat poisons, poisons to make the hair fall out or the skin rot off... poisons to rid your home of anything from molds to demons. certainly more than enough to take care of a ninja." The words left a hollow feeling in Rider's core. Crystal was a friend, after all.
"No invisibility potions or ways to stop time. Though Crystal is a ninja. If she wanted to, she could teleport right out. No idea why she'd want to..." [/glow]

"All right, let's sit down and talk," said Kat, breathing heavily. Her wand grew into a staff with double blades. And double-edged, too. This she pointed at Goosh. "But you're sitting down to talk with us for now. You were gone when everything began. You could have been behind all this and decided to stop by to buy some stuff to cover it up."
Without putting down her weapon, she said, "I know that bloody book. It's a volume on extremely destructive, complicated spells that can turn on casters if they are not competent enough. It has almost irreversible curses, stealth spells that would make any ninja turn green..." Her voice trailed off as she remembered the people who had vanished and decided to just look on the bright side - at least there were no bodies.
"There is no doubt that it is quite a handy book," she added, gritting her teeth. "And if anyone can keep Goosh here, I will try to test it."

Ginz flinched and looked away from the book Kat had brought back from the Library. She wanted to examine it just as much as everyone else, but she didn't like blood. She hadn't even wanted to look at the fountain. She would take her friends' word for it, whatever it was. It was a bad idea for a healer to dislike blood, but now was no time to point out that incongruence.
Ginz approached Kat and Rider -the ones with books- and prepared to observe and listen very carefully. She decided to remain quiet unless she had something important to contribute. That would allow her to think more clearly.

((We need portal resolutions for the people who are still alive-- *punbrick'd* -- so we don't need any post edits, because people have been treating the portal differently all around. So a suggestion: the portal works like a one-way mirror, people can come in or out. Also, the garden with the fountain is part of the house, so it's within the portal, so people can come in and out at will, which explains why Hunty was out there in the first place. All in favor say aye! All opposed come up with a more reasonable suggestion and we can adopt that. XD))
Zylaa honestly didn't know what to believe as she watched the others confront Goosh. He was acting far too flippant about this whole thing... but then again, they were all freaking out at his party. And the punch really did look like blood.
And the stuff staining the book Kat brought in looked an awful lot like blood too.
Zylaa nodded to Kathleen as she came in, but breaking the shield didn't interest her as much. "It might be good if we could get out, but I for one won't leave until we find out what's going on here," she said. "After all, there's still the possibility-- however slim-- that this is a big practical joke."
Then Kat ordered everyone to sit down, and Zylaa complied. After all, Kat was one of the experts on magic, while Zylaa had never learned even a simple spell. Hopefully Kat could shed some light on the situation.

"Time to run some tests on this." He looked at it under the microscope. No cells indicating blood, but the substance was very diluted. "Let me try this." He added some Kreludite particles, dry ice from earlier, and some PMfromRiderium, his own personal mix of materials, and looked at it again. "The substance in the water seems to be... Just red paint? That's anticlimactic."
((Mods, if I wasn't supposed to say that last ingredient, change it to Neopium or something. Glitchio likes to break the fourth wall.))
Hunter went over to the people with the spell and potion books. "Mage Manor books? Hmm. But that would seem to place the blame on us, wouldn't it? Then again, there are enough mages where there couldn't be a specific target, but somebody with a grudge could be trying to frame us." "Don't try to mix RPs, Hunter!" Glitchio yelled over.
((*sound of fourth wall shattering again* See? It's a reference to the Ninjas/Mages RP, by the way.))

[glow=red,2,300]((So is the portal around the house or the grounds? Because I'm filling that plot-hole, no doubt.)) Rider shot lasers at Goosh. Srsly. Then she reminded people that this is not a list of suspects, merely a list of bad references.[/glow] [glow=red,2,300]"Scar!" Rider knew that maidenly scream anywhere. By the time she was in the closet, it was too late. Lying where he had been was a giant metal... ship's wheel? "Did he... she... the kidnapper hit Scar with it?" Her hands were trembling and pale as she reached for the wheel. It was undamaged, no dents or blood. It was lighter than it looked, but still heavy enough to cause a good amount of damage. It was a thoroughly ridiculous weapon. [/glow]
