"Hey, Nova, wait up!" Fj0rd called. "I know the way to the library already! Anyone else who wants to come," she added, "Follow me." She hurried after Nova. "The last thing we need is someone getting lost in this place."

Lulu watched disapprovingly as Nova and Fj0rd set off down the hallway, slow enough for others to follow if they so wished it. Perhaps, she thought, we shouldn't split up more than we already have, thinking back to Ginz, Craig and Celestial. She wondered if they'd simply got lost on the way back (or to?) the kitchen...or if they were ever coming back.
She slammed her glass down, rather too hard perhaps, since there was a definite crack that formed in the bowl of it. She had to stop thinking like this - it would do her no good, except to make her even more shaky than she already was.
Luckily, Rider caused a distraction from her mind. Not an altogether pleasant distraction (in situation), but one all the same.
"Poison? Why would anyone poison Crystal? ...and it must of have been some poison, to make her just..disappear," Lulu mused over the facts that had occurred in the short period following the power cut. So much had happened, and her mind was trying to process it all - try to figure out a logical explanation for it all.
She slouched down on the arm of the sofa Rider was lying on, and leaned over.
"What have you got there? A book?"

Nova wasn't too far in the hallway so he heard Rider talk about the poison and the book, as well as Fj0rd calling to him. He stopped to a halt.
"I know the way to the library already! Anyone else who wants to come," she added, "Follow me."
"One sec Fj0rd. Rider said that a book about poisons was under the cushion after the seat. Maybe it came from the library, what with all the suspicion about the draft and all there before, maybe we can find some interesting clues about Crystals poisoning.
And speaking of which, maybe thats why Ikkin disappeared. Rider said there was fur by the seat, and Ikkin is the leader of Mage Manor after all. Ikkin could have poisoned Crystals drink, turned off the lights, disappear and the lights came back on again. A perfect getaway.
So... some of us should stay here and look through that book Rider found and maybe find a way to see if we can match that hair to Ikkin, or maybe even Goosh. The rest of us can go to the Library and see if we can find anything. Sound like a plan?"

Kat tagged along with the people headed for the library; it sounded like a good place to start.

"I'll head for the library. I know where we can find some good books."

"Good idea, Nova. I'll stay here with the other guys. Let me and the others know if you do find something in the library."

((Jeepers, I go to school and almost 3 pages pass by. xDD))
Celestial followed Craig and Ginz to the kitchen, taking note of anything suspicious. The portraits of Goosh for one seemed old and decrepid, so much so that something like Meepits had chewed two holes in one of them. Those holes creeped her out, as if there was something in them. The fact that they were positioned with geometric precision wasn't good either. She made a mental note to investigate.
Several times she paused as Craig and Ginz stopped and said they were being watched. Celestial did not want anything to be aware of her presense because if there was something malevolent here, she did not want to ward it off. Besides, the best kind of procection is one you cannot see. Silently she stood in the hall, waiting for any noise that could mean a struggle.
Ginz finally came out of the kitchen, alarmed. Celestial froze, her gaze following Ginz. However, she soon realised that it was only herself when Ginz, after the initial fear had passed, hugged Celestial. The Dragon Mage smiled
"You almost gave me a heart attack, I didn't know you were following us."
"Yeah, sorry about that. I just wanted to make sure you guys were ok and I guess being half-dragon, it is my nature to lurk" she said, hugging Ginz back.
"Come on, let's get out of here and see if any more clues have been found. Do you need any help with that punch bowl?" Celestial asked. Suddenly a powerful urge overcame her as if she was recieving signals to...sing? From Zylaa of all people. Shaking her head and resisting was no use. She opened her mouth.
With my freeze ray I will stop, the world.
With my freeze ray I will find the time to find the words to-
Here she finally gained control of herself and shut up. The damage howevr had already been done. Celestial blushed and didn't even say anything. She made a fool out of herself. And she felt kind of sick...special needs...
What was with her today? This was no time to burst into song. Then again, comic relief was long overdue. She still couldn't believe it took Rider almost 7 pages to break the Fourth Wall. This entire roleplay consisted of lateness.
((xDD I couldn't resist))

"Come on, let's get out of here and see if any more clues have been found. Do you need any help with that punch bowl?"
Craig shook his head at the half-dragon. "No, I think I can manage." With the newly-filled bowl in hand, he followed Ginz and Celestial out of the kitchen and down the hall.
He noticed Celestial staring at one of the old portraits of Goosh, and said, "Funny thing about this manor. Goosh only just bought it, but he's decorated it with a whole lot of paintings already. Every room seems to have one."
They arrived at the door to the ballroom, and Craig stepped inside just in time to see a line of people march out in another direction, led by Fjord.
Rider was sitting on a couch near the wall, and Craig put the punch bowl down on one of the long tables before approaching her. "Fresh punch is out!" he called to no one in particular; with Ikkin's recent disappearance, he didn't imagine that anyone would get too excited over refills.
Lulu had just slouched on the arm of the sofa when Craig walked up to her and Rider, adjusting his orange bowtie. "What have you got there? A book?" Lulu said to Rider.
"What's going on?" He glanced at the table next to the sofa, where a deep red blotch had stained the cloth. "Did something happen?"

[glow=red,2,300]((Do we have to make The Halloween Party Musical as well? XD))
Rider handed the book to Craig. "It's from the Mage Guild, no doubt about it. None of the pages are dog-eared, but I bet if we looked long enough, we'd find the poison they used on Crystal. Looks like they stashed this book away in a hurry. There's red hairs at the table, too." [/glow]

((Rider-- Yes. Yes we do. ^^))
When Rider found the pill in the punch, Zylaa raised an eyebrow, but didn't comment. When Rider found the book, she raised the other eyebrow, which was somehow less dramatic than the first one.
Zylaa had no inclination to go to the library with Fj0rd and Nova-- people had been disappearing from the ballroom, so the ballroom was likely where they would find the answers.
With my freeze ray I will stop, the world.
With my freeze ray I will find the time to find the words to-
Although Celestial cut off there, Zylaa continued to hum along as she walked over to Rider to examine the book.
"I agree with Lulu-- that must be one heck of a pill to cause spontaneous disappearance. Spontaneous combustion, easy, but disappearance?"
"It's from the Mage Guild, no doubt about it. None of the pages are dog-eared, but I bet if we looked long enough, we'd find the poison they used on Crystal. Looks like they stashed this book away in a hurry. There's red hairs at the table, too."
"Fantastic! Let's read the book and figure out what the heck went wrong. And the red hairs at the table are probably Ikkin's from before she disappeared."
Zylaa thought for a second, turning to look at Craig and Ginz bearing the punch. "Are we sure that's clean?"

Upon hearing what Rider said, Ginz's head was spinning.
"Crystal?" She asked, wondering what Crystal had to do with anything. "You mean Ikkin, right?"
Having been in the kitchen while the second disappearance took place, Ginz didn't even know about it. She listended quietly as someone caught her up on the news, her mouth slightly agape.
((Sorry if that's cheating, but a post explaining me would be repetitive. >>; ))

Craig frowned. "So Crystal's gone too? That makes two unexplained vanishings, and a missing party host." He glanced up at the portrait of Goosh on the wall.
"Are we sure that's clean?"
Craig looked over at the bowl of fresh punch he had placed on a nearby table. "Um, I think so. I got it from the kitchen." He tugged on his bowtie. "If you ask me, these aren't random attacks. Somebody put poison pills in Crystal's glass; if they wanted to get everyone they would have put them in the bowl, right?" He paused. "What I don't understand, though, is... how did the pills get in her glass without anyone noticing? We were all in the ballroom -- at least, most of us were. Somebody would have noticed a stranger walking around, surely."

Somebody would have noticed a stranger walking around, surely."
"Unless...well, unless it wasn't a stranger," Lulu said, looking nervously round at the members, "unless it was someone we know, trying to get rid of us. But why? That's what I don't understand. Wouldn't it be easier to just kill them off? Like I said, we don't their reasons, and we don't know who is doing this. For all we know, it could be one of us..."
She regretted her words as soon as they were out - there was no need to induce anymore paranoia. But it was true - they would have to be much less trusting until this whole thing was sorted out.
"Is that...blood, in the pond?"
Lulu got up off the arm of the chair, and sprinted to the large window. Her mouth dropped open a little, before she gulped.
"Oh my..."

((Rider- No but it is an idea... x3))
Celestial walked in with Craig and Ginz. Her eyes rested on the book that was found. Now, usually dragons never gambled but she was willing to bet that the answers were not in the library but that book. Why else would it have been hidden or even be such a doorstopper with the Mage Guild's seal on it.
"No Ginz, Crystal went missing just before I went to find you too. It was one of the reasons I decided to go" she said and sighed. The situation was getting too desperate for her liking. Two people gone...it seemed like when the Killer of Tabloid Town was around.
"What I don't understand, though, is... how did the pills get in her glass without anyone noticing? We were all in the ballroom -- at least, most of us were. Somebody would have noticed a stranger walking around, surely." Craig spoke and Celestial gasped, even if it did seem obvious to her. However, in her daze Lulu voiced the idea first.
"Unless...well, unless it wasn't a stranger, unless it was someone we know, trying to get rid of us. But why? That's what I don't understand. Wouldn't it be easier to just kill them off? Like I said, we don't their reasons, and we don't know who is doing this. For all we know, it could be one of us..." she said and Celestial nodded.
"I thought that too..." she began to say but trailed off when the cry came that there was blood in the pond. Celestial gulped but while everyone went over to the window to gawk, she picked up the book...just in case.
"You may start the random wild guessing. Though I doubt we can check it out as the windows don't allow us to get out" she said cynically. Opening one of the windows, she tapped on the invisible force field just to prove her point.
"Unless...this book has something on shields" Celestial exclaimed, beaming. Summoning an air current to hold it up and take the wieght off her arms, she flicked through it. The tome contained a lot of information, a lot of it about teleportation spells and other things that she did not comprehend. Finally her eyes rested on the section that dealt with shields. In it was a spell that could dissipate the shield but only temporarily for the strongest ones. Somehow Celestial thought that if teleportation spells couldn't overcome this one, it was strong.
"Guys, if you want to check it out you will only have 45 minutes before the sheild goes back up again and personally I don't want to find out what the myserious kidnapper will do to anybody who manages to fly the trap" she said, gritting her teeth to stop herself imagining the gruesome punishments that could be inflicted on them.
She focused on the spell. Magic swirled between her fingers, weaving in and out like vines. At last they shot out and hit the shield, dissolving it like a very concentrated acid would dissolve...anything really. A hole with glowing edges emerged in the shield.
"We don't have long, lets go now" Celestial said and jumped through the hole, spreading her wings instinctively as she hit the pavement and walked over to the stained pond. It might have just been the cold night air but something chilled her to the bone. Formal robes were not designed for autumn night weather.

Lupehunter was frantically writing down the latest revelation in his notebook. After writing it down, he took a seat and sighed.
"Huh, it looks like we're going to be in for a very long night."
