"AIEEEEEEEEEEEEEE"
Nova whipped looked across the ballroom to the open door to a closet and someone screaming, but he didn't know who it was.
"Scar...? Gone?" He didn't know what to think. Who was next? Could all they do is wait?

Celestial seemed to have falled asleep while everyone around her was busy or it could have just been an excuse to be lazy and not post and be useless but she was awoken with a start by a scream that seemed to go through the entire manor. Not another disappearance she groaned. This time it was Scar, there was no question about it.
Leaping up with a start, she flew over to where Rider was standing with the ship's wheel. It didn't seem damaged but she held it as if it was used to kill somebody. Which is probably did, given all that had happened so far.
There was something odd about that wheel. The nails were round and seemed to pop out of the wheel itself. It almost seemed like a remote control.
"Rider, could I see that thing for a second?" she asked carefully.

"A ship wheel?" Zylaa said blankly. "That as a murder weapon? What next, a leg of lamb?"
Zylaa started running through all the murder mysteries she'd ever read. Admittedly they weren't that many. But now Scar was gone, vanished, with a horrible scream to boot, not just a quiet disappearance like the other two. Make that three, if Hunty was really gone.
"How are they just vanishing?" she exclaimed in frustration. "I mean, I was willing to buy the chronomancy theory, but now the resident chronomancer vanished too." She began to pace around the room. "This could still be a practical joke," she added hopefully.

"Egad, that must be Scar!" gasped Kat, dropping the bloodied book again. "And our only clue is a...wheel? Is this guy a pirate?" She paused, realizing what she just said. "Maybe the culprit had it with him or her and dropped it in haste, or maybe Scar managed to get away unscathed...
"I know I'm supposed to be doing tests on the book, but unless you want me to do something else..."

Goosh jerked back, eyes wide, as he heard the girlish squeal. Sprinting behind Rider, he peeked over her shoulder head stilts shoulder to see an absence of Scar and...a ship wheel?
Goosh turned to Rider. Hunty was gone, and Rider used to be pirate captain. "Rider, what is going on at my party?" he asked in a clipped tone.

[glow=red,2,300]Rider handed the wheel to Cele, still examining it for any evidence that it was actually used as a weapon.
"Is this guy a pirate?"
"A Pirate and a Mage, now?" Rider asked, knowing that Kat herself fit that description and didn't want to push that any farther. "Besides, it's metal. The Weewoo has no metal parts. It does look like a ship's wheel though..."
"I know I'm supposed to be doing tests on the book, but unless you want me to do something else..."
"Use your best judgement, Kat," Rider said. "I trust you," but that wasn't entirely true...
"Rider, what is going on at my party?"
"I don't think I like that tone you take with me," Rider said. "Besides, I think you know better than I do."
There was another smell in the room, scarcely discernable through all the cleaning products and paints. It was... yes, it was the smell of spilled coffee. Rider wondered if anyone else noticed, or if it was a figment of her imagination.[/glow]

"A Pirate and a Mage, now?"
As Kat bent down to pick up the book, she felt her blood run cold; she was indeed a pirate and a mage. Sure, there were others, but not a lot, and one of them was missing. It would only be a matter of time before someone pointed a finger at her. Her best course of action was either crack the case quick, or try to keep everyone's fingers pointed at Goosh or some other suspect. Not without reason, of course.
"More than one person may be responsible for this," she blurted out before she could stop herself, clutching the book. Kat closed her eyes, trying to concentrate on the aura of the blood spattered on it. Unfortunately, the presence of so many auras all around her, not to mention the recent discoveries and the possibility that she could be framed, was interfering with her concentration.
However, the aura turned out to be unrecognizable. Either that, or someone had purposely cast a spell that kept her from reading the aura.
"I can't come up with anything," she announced, waving the book. "Something is keeping me from figuring out whose blood this is. Or maybe I don't recognize it at all."

[glow=red,2,300]"Okay, okay, NOT COOL. The villain ahs been subtle up to now... who the heck blows up a CAR?"
There was a familiar roar coming from the bushes. Leoness. She hesitated a split second, and by the time she got to the bushes, Leo was gone.
The aroma of coffee lingered. And the pieces began to click.
"Are we sure that's a sailing ship's wheel?"
...
"And whose car was that anyway?"[/glow]

It had only been a few minutes since Scar disappeared before the car explosion. Of course, because the explosion was close to the mansion, several windows exploded into a shower of glass. Lupehunter dove to the ground to avoid the flying glass. When the glass settled onto the floor, he looked behind him.
"Son of a devil," he cried out.

Celestial had brought the ships wheel along with her, just in case it would be needed as evidence. Besides, she knew there was something very odd about it and wanted to fiddle around with it, just in case.
If only you knew more about technology he said to her mind in a cynical voice. Despite being quite far underground, Overlord still felt her thoughts.
"Yeah..." Celestial sighed, pushing at the 'blots of the wheel and pulling a little at the spokes. Nothing was going to come out of it, maybe it was just an ordinary wheel that just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, just like all of them.
Then the car blew up.
Celestial flew back a few feet, screaming the most obscene word she knew, which was thankfully in Dragon Tongue otherwise she would have been in a lot of trouble. Mods were mods even in desperate situations. However once the initial shock has subsided, Celestial flew closer to the car, clutching the thankfully light ship's wheel. She was a fire mage, she might be able to figure out what had caused the explosion.
However Leo's roar distracted her. By the time they got to the bushes, she was gone without a trace, just like everyone else.
"Are we sure that's a sailing ship's wheel?...And whose car was that anyway?" Rider asked. Celestial turned to her, a cynical look on her face.
"Whoever it was, I wouldn't want to be the one to explain to their insurance company. And the wheel...the thing is, I doubt anybody would make a ship's wheel made out of metal. I had a strange thought that perhaps...it was a remote control of some sort. Mansions like this are bound to have secret passages aplenty. Perhaps this could lead to one of them opening up and it could also explain the disappearances...up until Scar...but not Leoness.
Though she doubted Leoness' disappearance was as insant as the others. Whatever it was, they needed to figure it out.
Celestial sat down on a star and began tinkering with the wheel again but this time more forcefully.

Dropping the bloody book was quickly becoming the next roleplay cliché.
When she heard the explosion, Kat jumped, and the book slid out of her hands. "This guy's weird. He - or she - suddenly blows up a car?" Before she could add anything more, she heard the roar and followed everyone else to the bushes. As they passed the site where the car exploded, she could have sworn she detected a trace of magic - or at least, someone's aura.
"Leoness is gone," she said unnecessarily. "We're dropping like flies here. Would this be a good time to say that I think there's the tiniest bit of magic involved in the car explosion? And no, that was not my car. I don't even have a permit."

[glow=red,2,300]"And the wheel...the thing is, I doubt anybody would make a ship's wheel made out of metal."
"No sea ship that I know of," Rider said. "Think less literally. Perhaps an airship..." She let the word hang in the air.
Red fur, weapons, and the helm of a ship. The smell of coffee. Rider wanted someone else to say it first.
Who the heck blows up a car? One person Rider could think of. [/glow]

The car exploded.
It was a very nice explosion, Zylaa thought, very action-movie style, although it did lack the subtlety of the other attacks. It was also not her car, which made it that much better. But only when Leoness had disappeared did she realize that the explosion had just been a very showy diversion. She turned to the others once more as they were discussing.
"No sea ship that I know of," Rider said. "Think less literally. Perhaps an airship..."
Explosions. Red fur. Zylaa stared at Rider in disbelief as the pieces began to click together in her head too.
"You don't think... Thundy??"
