So what's on your playlist for NaNoWriMo '07? Here's mine so far:
Mr. Brightside (The Killers) Somebody Told Me (The Killers) When You Were Young (The Killers) Read My Mind (The Killers) Extreme Ways (Moby) (The Bourne Trilogy theme.) Cells, instrumental (The Servant) (Part of the score to Sin City.)
Limited? Yes. But I am VERY picky about what music--if any--I listen to while writing. I might add some other things as I get into more characters' heads, but for now this is fine.

Basically, any trance or fantasy-ish song I can get my hands on. xD
Right now, I have songs from Nightwish, Lasgo, Ian Van Dahl, Cascada, DJ Encore, and a whole bunch of other DJs that you probably won't recognize, on my playlist right now. My most inspiring song so far is 'Breathing' by Rank 1. If my story had a theme song, this would be it. ^_^
@sam - Fergie sings Big Girls Don't Cry? O.o She sounds way different to me than she does in her other songs.

I also listen to my mp4 before I go to sleep at night. XXDD I've been dreaming about my characters lately. I listen to classical music (mostly Tchaikovsky, Saint-Saens, Bach) to make me relax. This dreamy tune called 'The Swan' by Saint-Saens really puts me in the mood to write. To keep myself perky, I also listen to j-pop every now and then (lately, it's the Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon soundtrack).

@sam - Fergie sings Big Girls Don't Cry? O.o She sounds way different to me than she does in her other songs. There's a song called Big Girls Don't Cry by The Four Seasons, then there's a Broadway rendition. There's a TOTALLY DIFFERENT Big Girls Don't Cry by Fergie, and it doesn't sound like the one by The Four Seasons. And yeah, she does sound kind of different. I like most of the songs for their lyrics AND music, instead of music, and I really like those lyrics!

I'm listening to a lot this year. Basically anything I feel that suits my mood. Usually, I go with the novel's mood but this year I seem to be putting on whatever will please me and make me write. Which is good. 'cuz I need motivation. So far, my main writing music has been The Hush Sound and some Regina Spektor but I'll get around to playing Metric, Tegan and Sara, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Emily Haines soon.
