I'm kind of mad about it. Apparently I didn't get signed up in time for NaNo and I'm completely missing out on it. I'm still doing it.
Actually, I'm winging it. I didn't have time to think of characters and a story, so it will probably be pretty lame. I have 2,211 words and I just started last night.
This will be fun trying to do school, babysitting, drawing, and NaNo all at once. But I'm up for a challange so here goes.

I put the link to my NaNo profile for my website here at the NTWF, for anyone who wants to buddy me or whatever. And... Carriiiieeee. ;_; You have over 10,000 words already.

ARGH! I just can't seem to get some NaNo gumption. Like, I have no idea what to do next. I didn't get to write yesterday--I only have 500 words written. So today, I'm going to try to punch out 4,500 or so. If I can.

For those having trouble with NaNo, I'm sure you will get through it. Keep scrolling downward to see as little of what you already wrote as possible. It's so tempting to go back and edit text... but try to hold off ^^.
My NaNo is going pretty well ^^. There were some some writing events in my town that I attended (one for just a few minutes after the SAT) and then a late write in to redo 1am again because of the time change in most of the US.

I have 6,000 words to write today because I actually came up with a plot and characters last night after brainstorming. So I have a bunch to type in order to catch up. I'm at 1,361 words right now.

I've been chugging along at a rate of about 700 words per day, so i'm starting to fall behind. Of course, I feel okay about it considering the events of the past few days and the fact that i'm not the only person suffering from writer's lag. x)
Once the next weekend rolls around, i'll hopefully be able to sit down and catch up. If not, however, then no biggie - I entered this contest for the sake of fun, afterall. ^_^

If I write one more word describing this character's hair, it will turn him into a Gary Stu by default or something .__. but it's so pretty! And I need the extra, purple-prose-y words!

The good news is that I have a story I really want to write.
The bad news is that I care about the quality, which is slowing me down.
And it's a story I like enough that if it comes down to it, I would rather lose NaNo than mess it up.
So we'll see how this goes. I've got to write faster. I can type fast enough but my mind can't work as quickly as my fingers.

Ah, forget about it. Just write! You can edit it when the contest/competition is over. But for now, every word counts!

What you could try, Nut, is save your current story up to this point in a seperate file, and then make your NaNo file the 'Brainstorm Version' of your story where you go crazy and write down whatever comes to your mind. That way, it would be easier to go back and fix everything later. ^^

I care quite a bit about my story, which has resulted in a some days full of depression and angst about the varying quality ^_^; But even more than quality, I really care about getting the rough draft finished. I have to keep telling myself that I'll go back and edit out the plot holes and lame sections later. X3 Because I know that if I'm not really, really motivated, as I am with Nano, I'll never finish it at all, high quality or no.

[shadow=purple,left,300]More Word Count Widgets and the Progress Report are now up on the site. Go grab 'em. As for me...at 16.3k and still going... XD My problem is that I have too many characters and I insist on describing them all. Though thankfully I'm not describing every thread of their clothes, like I often do. XD[/shadow]

Yay, I remembered this forum before NaNo was nearly done for me! Yay for getting a held over letter in November. I'm a second year NaNoer, and I'm currently on the verge of 30k words. There's something magical about 25k, because things are starting to get easier. Now... to figure out... what I will write next...
