Help! I'm suffering from Writersblockititis! 0_o When that happens to me, I daydream and then write down whatever comes to my mind. Like the NaNo staff say: No plot? No problem! Also, try and resist the urge to go back and edit what you've written. Sometimes it helps me when I don't even look at what i've written, and just keep going from what's in my head. I second what you said about not looking back at what you've written. I egg myself on by saying, "Keep on writing! Don't look back! Come on, Belle, don't look back! " Because if I look back, I know I'll edit. XXDD YAY 3K but quick question: last year I saw people with wordcount thingies in their signatures and stuff... are those still around, and if so, where do I get them? [shadow=purple,left,300]I had one of those last year too...and I forgot where I got mine. XDDDDD So yes, I'll ask the same question. XD EDIT: I'll see if those 2006 widgets still work...I found them in the archives. XDDDDD[/shadow] Tell us if they do. ^__^ Apparently, there are no NaNo widgets this year so you guys will have to make do with Word Count images like the one I have in my siggy. ^^;

A gifted-powered teenagers-kind-of story, in which section of NaNo does it go?

I think I'll have to start coming up with a few more plot ideas, 'cause I'm finding that I have to constantly force myself out of a writer's block. ; On a different note, I recently figured out why I was always so bad with fight scenes. It's because there were always, like, ten people involved, and my brain can't handle that much going on at once. The one I wrote yesterday for NaNo didn't turn out so bad because there were only three people to keep track of.

And no, the 2006 widgets didn't work D= Ah well. Christos - Fantasy, most probably, if those powers are the superhuman type. Rawr. I'm too far behind. >_>;;;[/shadow]

Here's a kind of stupid question. But I'm not sure how to scramble my piece and not even sure how to submit it. I read the FAQ on scrambling, but it doesn't make sense, because it used the Find/Replace tool in MSWord, but when I inputted the stuff they told me to, it didn't replace anything and turned out not being scrambled And do we submit for counting/verification through the word count box in Author Info?

*pops into the writers' thread* Gaah, what am I doing here? I don't make words! I draw pretty pictures! Waaaah!
Oh yeah, that's right. I stopped by to wish you guys luck! Working a huge goal with a set deadline is tough and exciting, especially when doing it with others. I've attempted a 24-hour comic, and I've done a couple 24-hour animations, but working on something for a month? Insane!
So good luck, guys! Making the sentences and stringing them into paragraphs, and forming those paragraphs into coherent storylines? I think I'll just stand over on the sidelines and cheer. ;D

I haven't tried scrambling mine yet so I can't help you there for now. There's actually no 'verification' thing up at the NaNo site right now. For now, there doesn't seem to be an option for uploading for verification so we'll just have to update our word counts manually (that is, the honor system). And yes, that's the one in the Author Info. ^_^

I've been in the process of moving since last week and only just got my computer set up. I haven't written anything yet.
However, this is pretty much on par with where I was at this time last year, and I finished the challenge that time, so I'm not terribly worried. I just need to get some stuff written in between unpacking boxes.

It looks like i'll have some serious catching-up to do over the next week. I can write some more today, but tomorrow, I have to go up to my grandmother's house to prepare for my great grandfather's funeral. I've been asked to be one of the pallbearers (which are the six people that carry the coffin).
It makes me really nervous that I have to miss two days of college because of this... and they're pretty important classes too. On Monday, my English class is deciding on what topic to write about for our final research paper, and on Tuesday, somebody is coming to the classroom to explain the steps we need to take to register for spring classes. I guess I can try to get the information I need from a fellow classmate, but it's just going to be so much harder to learn things that way than actually being in the classroom.
But even though I don't like the idea of attending a funeral, I can't refuse my grandmother's offer.

Yippee, I'm ahead of schedule! This might actually be a 4k-5k day for me. That would be good!

Ugh, the Nano site was loading awesome for me about an hour ago and then it entered peak hours for a Saturday and now it won't even load. >_< Woe is me. Oh, and I found a Facebook application that displays your word count. Link here. It works just as well as the Nano site does. It scrapes the WC off the Nano site so it may be behind sometimes because it can't access the site. (But, really, who can at this point?)
