Sorry for the late reply, Nasue. xD But glad you like it so far. ^_^
Arrow Mining is intentional, and it's actually an encouraged side-effect of the sticky arrows. You can stay in a safe spot while picking off moving monsters this way. :3
Anyway, it's been at least a few months since I worked on Jade Phoenix, as pretty much all of my attention has been focused on FableQuest (and another non-NTWF game, but, well, it's a surprise *cough*). I think it's about time that I declared the project to be on an official hiatus. xD;
Once I start working on it again, here's my to-do list so that I don't forget:
- Convert the game from MMF 1.5 to MMF2 so that I can take advantage of its new features, including hardware acceleration.
- Bugs, bugs, bugs. xD Gotta fix 'em. Also, as was mentioned previously, make the game a little more forgiving by including mid-level checkpoints and only making the player lose one or two heart containers upon death instead of all of them.
- Make the story a little more coherent so that people outside the NTWF understand what's going on. To this effect, I did start making an intro movie before I stopped working on the game, so i'd just need to finish this up and possibly make another one for the ending.
- Finishing up the missing avatars of forumers.
- As of now, I have no plans to tie myself up with new levels, so i'll only be focusing on adding bosses to the worlds that don't yet have them. I will also add a few city/space levels at the end to wrap everything up.
Looking back at all of the previous pages of this project, i'm really amazed at just how many forumers have helped me so far. ^_^ Once again, I thank you all for bringing the game up to this point. Even if it never gets past Beta, this is still the farthest i've come with a project of this scale, and I owe it all to you guys. Cheers!
