They retconning Palkia's smooth skin? That's a weird change... XD I guessss to be fair, the art style that Pokemon typically uses doesn't reveal that sort of fine detail. Just for example, looking at their Sugimori art there's not much distinction between Pikachu -which we know have fur- and Ampharos -which is explicitly said to be bald and has rubbery skin. It wasn't until the Detective Pikachu movie used realistic textures for the Pokemon that we were able to see just how fluffy Pikachu really is. So I suppose it's not that they changed Palkia from having smooth skin to fur, but that it was never actually shown until now that it didn't have fur.

I've now seen the image of Palkia and there are a lot of textures going on. Some areas look like a covering of fine crystallization, like those micro-crystal growing kits. Other areas look like a combo of scratchy metal and fuzzy peaches. The neck area is reminiscent of penguin feathers.
I think whoever made these images had a lot of fun with their rendering. XD

Urgh, there's a spinoff game (Pokemon Unite) coming to the Switch on July 21 (and mobile devices at a later date), but no news on either the D/P remakes or Legends, with the remakes out in approximately 3 months and barely anything to show so far.
With so little info, I'm still on the fence whether or not to get the remakes or just skip them entirely for Legends.

Next Wednesday (the 18th) there will be a 28-minute long Pokemon Presents at 9:00 AM EST / 12:00 PM PST, and will focus on Brilliant Diamond / Shining Pearl and Pokemon Legends: Arceus.
I will admit I was also getting concerned over the lack of info on both games, especially after E3 passed by without Pokemon even getting a mention. But I have noticed a new trend with Nintendo that they're not revealing much about their games (Or even announcing them at all) until a few months ahead of their release date. I wonder if Pokemon is just following suit now.

Much like Alola and Galar, at least 2 Pokemon will appear in Legends as regional variants for the Husui region (the name of Sinnoh past), while 2 more have evolutions Growlithe and Braviery get regional variants, Stantler and Basculin have evolutions. Based on what I've seen, BD/SP appears to be based on the stories of D/P and not Platinum. Features that appeared previously in other games (such as customization, Super Contests and the Undergroun) make a return

Fun fact: With the two additional Pokemon revealed in the trailer, the National Dex now sits at an even 900. I'm fairly at ease now that BD/SP will probably be using Platinum's regional Dex - or at the very least an expanded Sinnoh Dex. The lack of variety in the Pokedex was probably D/P's biggest weakness, so that was the number one thing I needed to see changed for the remakes. As far as other Platinum features go, I don't have high hopes for the Battle Frontier - much as I'd like to see it. The main story in BD/SP may be using D/P's plot, but I suppose it's entirely within the realm of possibility we could still get a Giratina-centric post-game a la Delta Episode? I'm still retaining cautious optimism with Legends: Arceus. Graphically, it does still look a little rough, but also like it has been polished a bit since the last trailer. (The overworld Pokemon don't seem to be animated at 2 FPS anymore, at least. ) But the gameplay looks like something I'll have fun with. I really hope that there's a lot to discover and explore - that was one of the things I adored about Breath of the Wild (Which is the game Legends is unsurprisingly being compared to) and most of my hours in Hyrule was spent goofing off and seeing all the neat places I could go to instead of advancing the plot in any way. xD And also, thumbs up to Game Freak for managing to make Basculin -the most boring and forgettable Gen 5 Pokemon- actually cool now. Everyone on the internet is losing their minds over Hisuian Growlithe. It's definitely cute, but I'm especially eager to see Hisuian Arcanine. In my opinion, regional variants is probably one of the best ideas Game Freak has ever had, so I'm very glad to see them continue to make more.

I bought a Pokemon face mask today!! I think it's slowpoke, but each is unique because they're made with leftover material from other projects, so I'll have to wait until it arrives to know for sure.

It does say the package will arrive in 5-10 days, which is pretty slow by the standards of this little country. xD EDIT: looks like it arrived today! Fastest slowpoke ever!

Ironically, as they're part Ghost, this makes them weak to the original variant Dark typing Normal/Ghost is a really interesting typing overall. In addition to Hisiuan Zorua/Zoroark being weak only to their original type, they're also immune to both of their own types and also immune to Fighting. (One of their standard form's weaknesses) Anywho, I really really like Hisuian Zorua/Zoroark's designs; I might just put one on my team.
