I was hoping one to keep, but if not possible, I understand. Ah, yeah I'd like to keep my Zacian. Perhaps someone else will have one that they're willing to let go of. Best of luck to you! Thank you though

Well, while I was training Kubfu (nicknamed Akira after a certain fighter) a couple of days ago, I ended up getting Pokerus. That's my second Pokemon game now this has happened.

Took a bit of a hiatus from Pokemon for a while (Which TOTALLY had nothing to do with Animal Crossing), and I'm now getting back into Sword/Shield. And MAN, is Surprise Trade much more of a dumpster fire of obviously hacked Pokemon than I remember it being when I last used it. Like, a couple weeks ago I must have gotten at least five Shiny, 6IV Legendaries with ideal Natures just from one box worth of trading. I remember Wonder Trade being kind of like this back in OR/AS, but it is still a little discouraging as someone that likes to IV breed a bunch of mons legitimately to send off and make someone happy.
Plus, I do remember reading that the reason why Sword/Shield doesn't allow for cloud save backup is to deter hackers, but that point is kind of moot now, because it's clearly not stopping anyone... =_=
On a more positive note, I am finding myself impressed with the DLC, particularly with the actual locations of the Isle of Armor and the Crown Tundra. They are SUCH a big step up from the Wild Area in the base game, and what it should have been all along. I do hope this is Game Freak's testing grounds for a more open-world Pokemon game, because I think they have the right idea with this.

It's been a while since the last post, but there is news. Remakes of the gen 4 (Diamond and Pearl) games are coming to the Switch sometime in 2021 (more likely around the holiday season, if previous games were taken into consideration). This is not going to be developed by Game Freak, but another company called ICLA,Inc. There's also a spinoff, entitled Pokemon Legends: Arceus, coming in 2022. From the information gathered (if the title isn't a giveaway, as Arceus is the Sinnoh legendary mon), this also takes place in the Sinnoh region, but long before the events of Diamond and Pearl. In fact, the three starters are not the Sinnoh starters, but Rowlet, Cyndaquil and Oshawott

I'll have to wait to see what the quality is like before I decide if I want to get it, but I think it would be a pretty amusing coincidence if the D/P remake is my next Pokemon game. I'd be going from Diamond on the DS, straight to Diamond on the Switch. XD
EDIT: The Legends game looks like it has a lot of potential. I'll definitely be keeping my eye on it.

New Pokemon Snap next month, 4th gen remakes, and Arceus looks *exactly* up my alley. Grrr I still feel pretty betrayed by Sword/shield and by nintendo's practices in general lately, but I want to believe ;_;

Grrr I still feel pretty betrayed by Sword/shield and by nintendo's practices in general lately, but I want to believe ;_; Part of why I fully intend to wait until everything inevitably leaks, just like for Sw/Sh, and I'm still glad I did because I didn't end up buying it >_>

Yeah, I'm definitely not buying before I get the information I need to determine if either of those games will be enjoyable/worth it to me. I was quite ready to buy SwSh when it was first announced, but that desire rapidly evaporated when more information was available. X'D
My trust levels (in The Pokemon Company) are pretty low at the moment.

Yeah. I wouldn't have bought SwSh at all, except someone mistakenly processed a return for a copy of Sword at my job one day (we weren't supposed to take returns on games at all and couldn't sell it once it was out of the shrink wrap, per company policy) so I Did A Naughty and mysteriously marked it down to half price >w>; So I own it, but I still haven't been excited enough for it to actually play it. My switch remains the Animal Crossing + Hollow Knight machine.
So yeah, I'm just gonna hope that they've heard the criticism and wait for more news.

Well, with the Gen 4 remakes (and possibly Legends as well), we know that it will be focused on the the Gen 4 mons like Lucari. With that in mind, we know that there won't be a similar debacle like Dexit for the remakes.
Gameplay wise, from what I've seen, it appears that the remakes will be straight up remakes of Diamond and Pearl, which doesn't bode well for me as Diamond and Pearl are notorious for the lack of variety (most notably, Fire types). There's nothing so far to indicate that the plot points/mechanics from Platinum will be included, unlike say, HeartGold/SoulSilver or Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire.
I definitely would wait for more info before deciding whether or not the remakes will be purchased. Legends, I'm leaning more towards getting it, but again, more info is needed first, as right now, there's not much info on the game, other than the trailer.

For me it's updated remake or bust. I want to have the QoL improvements and mechanics that have been implemented in later versions. I loved Gen 4, but it had a lot of weird or frustrating old design choices and balances. XD Breeding 'mons took forever, EV training took forever, shiny chaining could be infuriating and also took forever, HMs, HM routes, type balance, etc. If this turns out to be a very faithful remake that doesn't dare deviate from the original D/P design/mechanics, then I'm probably going to give it a pass.
Speaking of Dexit: I want all 'mons and I have no issue sitting out games until they make one with every creature available to either catch or trade from another player/game... even if that means I never buy another Pokemon game again. :I

Release dates for Brilliant Diamond, Shining Pearl, and Pokemon Legends: Arceus have been announced, baring any Covid-19 complications. BD/SP are set to release on Nov 19, while Legends is due out on Jan 28, 2022

I know that the announcement trailer said Pokemon Legends would be released in "Early 2022" but I still wasn't expecting it to be that early. I'm surprised that they're releasing two major Pokemon games within a few months of each other. Clearly, however, the biggest and most important part of this set of news is that zooming in on the box art of the Shining Pearl reveals that Palkia does not have scales, but is instead covered in soft, fuzzy fur. 0_o
