No Tai and the others are in high school. The dub made them in high school during Zero Two (as the dub always tends to age the characters up) while from what I understand they were in middle school in the original Japanese version.
Tri takes place when Tai is 17 so either his junior or senior year of high school with the rest that share his uniform also being in high school.
T.K and Kari would be in middle school while Joe would be in college. Ah, see I didn't ever watch the sub, so the dub version is all I had to go on. XD Though to be fair, a lot of what the kids were getting up to makes no sense if they were supposed to be in middle school. A 12-14 year old with a sold out rock concert? Bwuh? So I can't blame the dub for aging them up. A lot of things about 02 make no sense. xD I'm really curious to see if Tri will end up retconning any of that season. I mean, Mimi's attire here suggests she attends the same school as everybody else (sans T. K. and Kari). Then again, she could have just moved back from the US after 02, I guess. |

So 02 has been confirmed to be still canon as of the most recent issue of V-Jump.

Sorry to double post but we have a trailer and release date. Tori will be a six part movie or OVA series with the first part airing in Japan on November 21.

Just gonna leave this right here. The art style kind of reminds me of Our War Game/Summer Wars a bit. Although it makes Gabumon kind of scary looking, not gonna lie. XD;;; |

The newest anime Digimon Ghost Game is out (6 eps so far), and I've been watching the subs. It's pretty good! Diggin' the spooky theme. Love that OP... I've been listening to the full version on repeat a lot. XD
I find myself not too invested in the characters so far, though...
Main Character Hero Kid bores me, TheGirl has no solid personality, though I really like her Digimon. The Other Kid is actually kinda interesting, but I kinda hate his Digimon. XD
but it's already better than the Digimon Adventure remake from last year, which was... not good.
Too many episodes centered around pointless dragging battles, and it had a cliche light vs darkness barebones plot that felt rushed and unfocused. It felt like it expected you to already know the characters from the original Digimon Adventure anime, despite being... a different story... with slightly altered interpretations of the cast. It allowed very little time for us to really care about these kids or their Digimon - it just kinda zipped from battle to battle, evolution to evolution, with almost no downtime. Bam bam bam, yay we've all gone Ultimate, let's destroy the bad guy! Boom done. Oh no another bad guy! Let's destroy him, too! Raaghh Mega evolution activate!
