Of course, my sources may be completely inaccurate, but I can't look it up because I don't have my PS2, and the information MAY just be on Final Mix, which I don't have anyways. The Final Mix material is the glue that holds the canon together.

I've been thinking of joining for a while now, but I'm been putting it off and... whatever. I'm here. In response to this post: Interesting point. X33 If it's normal animals turning into Heartless, I guess there's precedent for that - Scar - but if there are worlds of Kingdom Hearts where there are non-sentient animals, maybe those animals wouldn't turn into Heartless... Also it's interesting, because when people turn into Heartless, they don't look like Heartless-people the way there are, say, Heartless-monkeys. Or perhaps it's the latter, that when the Heartless invade the world they adapt to it. Maybe Shadows are the lowest, "basic" form but they can evolve into more powerful forms and adapt to their surroundings. Or maybe it's the fault of MAD SCIENCE. *imagines* "Vexen." "Yes?" "There are Heartless monkeys in the laboratory." "Yes." "Why?" "Because I can." "What in the name of nothing are you going to DO with them?" "... good question." It said somewhere (in one of the KH:FM only Ansem Reports, if I remember correctly) that "Emblem Heartless" were made to act like regular Heartless. (That's how the MCP was able to create Heartless.) So really, the only Heartless that were formed from someone losing their heart are Shadows, Neoshadows, Xehanort's Heartless, Scar's Heartless, and possibly Darkside.
So, even though that Mad Science thing was a joke, it really was how all of the other heartless were formed. (Which includes the monkey heartless. Xehanort and his pals had a twisted sense of humor.)
Here's the Ansem Report. (Relevant parts are underlined)
Of course, my sources may be completely inaccurate, but I can't look it up because I don't have my PS2, and the information MAY just be on Final Mix, which I don't have anyways. That particular Ansem Report is number 8, from the original KH, not Final Mix ( KHInsider has all of them, in numbered order). It's a prize for beating Hades in the Hades Cup, though, so it'd make sense that most people wouldn't get to see it. >>; The idea that Xehanort and his friends had a twisted sense of humor and got their kicks making newer and odder types of Heartless is rather amusing, I have to say. XD

XD Well, if it wasn't just for kicks, how else would you explain Heartless like White Mushrooms, Rare Truffles, Powerwilds/Bouncywilds, Trickmaster, Parasite Cage, etc. "Why did you create that juggler Heartless? It's too small." "Trickmaster? Well, if he goes to a world where the people are even smaller..." "Riiiight. Okay then. I'll put it in the reject room with the mushrooms, the monkeys, and the parasite."

As always, I hate to double-post, but I was just watching a KHII vid on YouTube, when I noticed something... Goody's a freakin' moron. You remember, of course, the scene in KHII where Goofy apparently died? Well, when you watch it, notice that Goofy's about two and a half King Mickey's height. Goofy pushes the King out of the way, and like the brainiac he is, he stands up straight just afterwards. He is now standing roughly two feet further away from the shrapnel thing than where King Mickey just was. The flying rock/shrapnel/whatever is traveling in a downwards arc about I'd say... 40-35 degrees at the point it hit's Goofy on the forehead.
Now suppose Goofy didn't "save" Mickey, even if the UFO miraculously stopped at that point in mid-air where it struck Goofy on the head and fell straight down despite physics, it still would have landed right next to the King, not on him. Considering the rock-whatever was still traveling in an arc, not a very steep one, either, chances are if not for Goofy's bravery, the object would have landed several feet away from the King without hitting anyone or anything other than the ground.

When something large and heavy looks like it might just barely miss someone you want to protect, you don't have the time to think rationally.
Or use depth perception, I guess.

When you put it that way... why didn't he just use his shield like in the first KH when he saved Sora from Riku's Dark Fireball, or for that matter, the superspeed only seen when he saves Sora from Riku's Dark Fireball?

As for his speed, I have no clue. [> _ >]

Okay, I have always noticed that in every Disney-related thing involving all existing characters, Maleficent is always the leader of the Disney villains. And not just in Kingdom Hearts. Even in the book The Kingdom Keepers, Maleficent commands the other Disney villains. And what I want to know is why? Also, chibi cuteness for all.

Even in the book The Kingdom Keepers, Maleficent commands the other Disney villains. And what I want to know is why? Also, chibi cuteness for all. She was one of the first Disney villains ever. Actually the Evil Queen from Snow White was first, but I suppose Maleficent just has more epicness to her - an evil-sounding name, eviller character design, and she turns into a dragon at the end. So it's become kind of classic for Maleficent to be the "head" villain, in situations and crossovers where they're all together.
and I <3 that book ^_^

Someone managed to get a camera inside Squenix's Closed Mega Theater at the Tokyo Game Show and take video of 358/2 Days and Birth By Sleep. =D
Aqua looks to be almost as flashy as Final Form Sora normally. XD And the 358/2 Days version of Roxas' theme is kinda epic.
(Note: there's a Parasite Eve trailer after the two KH trailers that's kind of creepy, so, just a word of warning)

That theme wasn't specifically for 358/2 Days, it was from Final Mix+. I have it on my KH Complete OST. <333
I actually understood two lines in all of that. XDDD Xion - "I... hurt..." and Ven - "It's a lie!"
>__> Which reveals SO much of the plot, I know. Would love to find subs somewhere. This is awesome, though... I love Aqua's design so much.
