Ooh! Ooh! I'll sign up!  One thing I've been having fun with is translating the "Gibberish" in strips 247-393. It's also fun to run it through the Bonzai Story Generator once it's translated.  Yes I know, there are gaps. Some of those strips have so little material that it's nearly impossible to translate. Panel 4: Treasure!
5: Gone! All of it, gone!! I can't believe it's all gone!
I got eaten by a dragon for that stupid treasure!
6: I got vomited up! By a disgusting! And now it's GONE!
7: Not THE loot, MY loot Mine!
8: Wait, why do I sound funny? Hello? Hello?
10: What? No! Don't you dare!
11: Sneak attack boot to the face!
12: Darn straight. Panel 3: It means my speech is all funny-sounding.
4: Come again?
6: Can somebody please get weepy transsexual off me? Panel 2: You call it the-
4: Ten gold says she cries!
8: Yeah! Come on, open you...
(I haven't managed to translate two of the words yet [hence the 'sorta'] but this is enough to give you a good idea.) Panel 1: You stupid lock! Open! Why won't you open??
2: Going to kill you...
3: I hate Amasing-quality!
7: Gee, thanks, no pressure there.
8: Darn it! OPEN!!
11: I am totally in love with you. Panel 1: Wait. Listen!
2: Back in the cells! Back! BACK! Ewww, gross. Huh? Panel 3: What?
5: No, wait, that verdict doesn't make sense. Laws don't work that way.
6: I've seen enough of Thieves' Guild friends sent to prison to know that this should have been a conviction.
9: But... but it doesn't make any sense!
10: No! I'm not OK, this whole trial made NO SENSE!
11: We WERE guilty! It should have been a guilty verdict! I can understand if they wanted to reduce the sentence due to the circumstances, but it should have still been a guilty verdict.
12: Oh, never mind, I don't know why I'm bothering.
13: Wait- Elan, what did you just say?
14: Oh my gosh, Elan! That's it! Elan, you're a genius! You can't understand me, so let me just say that you're a big jerk and your thighs look fat in that armor. I thought you said your dad was dead? Because even I'M sick of translating these things. Ahhhh! Basically just laughter. I'm pretty sure "*hpleq*" means "*snort*". Panel 3: Elan, I'm in love with you.
5: Elan, I'm in love with you. Completely in love.

(*I couldn't figure out exactly what this word was, but it's probably something like this.) Three hundred forty strips and we're STILL using cheap rule revision jokes... man, we suck.

FEAR THE ALMIGHTY DOILY AND IT'S SERVANT! *giggle* Yeah, I thought I'd impersonate Vaarsuvius, the elf who I never thought might not be female until I read the FAQ.  A bunch of jokes make more sense now that I have. I actually had a dream that included Vaarsuvius last night. Anyway, I think I'll post translations for the gibberish mentioned in my other post. (in spoiler boxes, naturally) They'll also be in text, partly so that I don't have to replace the text on the images, and partly so that the reader has to be reading the associated comic for it to make much sense. Edit: I've started by posting the translations for the 247th comic. I'll add 248 once I figure that one out. |
