I've been thinking about the topic of Guild Wars, specifically GWRP2. Personally, I can't wait for the next one, but I'd like to see what you guys think. ^^

Methinks we should wait 'til we get an official end for the first GWRP. *nodnod* And the GW movie should be at least somewhat finished first, probably. *votes for that*

No offense PFA, but I don't think I can wait long enough for you to finnish the movie XD. Even if I were to get crazy and sketch every background needed over the next week or two. I know myself and some others have been getting excited about it and I'm starting to get impatient for it. I think a good time for it would be shortly after the winter holidays. There normally isn't to much school work and stuff then and there won't be people disapeering on vacation. At least not as much. I think some of the issues on everybody's mind is the sheer size of it all and the time needed to keep up and stuff. Well, there was some difficulty with that in GW1, but we got around it. It's an RP. It's meant to be all over the place and defy the laws of the space/time continum and get out of hand. It's not supposed to be to uptight, it's just fun . Because the last one was such a success I think we're putting to much pressure on GW2 and we're squishing the spontaneous fun factor out of it. We're the diver waiting to take the plunge and psyching themselves up when really it's only a 5 foot drop that you could do even without the water to cushion your fall.

The movie is definitely going to take a while. Hence why I said somewhat finished. I'd just kinda like to get it to a bit more than it is now, which is basically a bunch of blank with a few clips here and there. Don't get me wrong, though. I'm totally looking forward to GW2, and will definitely be happy when it starts, no matter how unfinished the GW movie may be.

Well, personally, within the Next Month or two sounds good. December, January? Febuary? March, April even. The old Guild Wars was also great Time-killing over the End of the Holidays, where most are back from Vacation. =3

Personally I have no particular preference. (I'm indecisiiiiiiiive... nyeheheheh.)
Regrettably I'll be somewhat busy during December and January, but that doesn't stop me from wanting to join in. From what I read, GW seemed to be a lot of fun, and I found myself going, "I wish I coulda been in that!" XP So yeah, possible participant. But even if I don't, then I'll be happy to just watch.

I'd like to start the next Guilds' War sometime pretty soon. I'm not sure how soon, but definitely after Thanksgiving. Around Christmas/New Years' break, maybe? Hmm... 'A New Year, a New (Guilds) War.' That has a nice ring to it. *has already voted*

What? No "two weeks from now" choice?!
Seriously though, I think we should start the Guild Wars 2 by December. My guess is that most of us have spare time to participate by then.

I'm with Omni. Starting sometime in late January/early-mid February would be great, I think.

January/February sounds fine. The NZ Summer holidays (And winter vacation for all you North Hemisphere humanoids) would be finished by then and most people'd be back.

Vyt, you guess wrong. XD Sorry if I'm only speaking for myself, but I'll be busy as heck with applications until mid-January, and then exams kick in. If we start GW2 over the holidays, it'll end up like last time for me- jumping in randomly after a lot of the major conflict has been established.
So yes, very self-centered here, but I think January/Febuary would be an excellent time to start. But as Keng said, we shouldn't pressure this. It should be fun, and if a lot of people talk on the 'bloids one day and go "Hey, let's start GW2 RIGHT NOW!" it would be just as good as having a set day when people would be able to do it.

I say we should start the signup/character thread some time around christmas then start the actual RP in early January.

If we start just after NaNo no one will be able to write anything.
And I don't know if Elcie agrees with this, but since I'm helping her run the Merc Guild, we may be more of workers-for-hire instead of an actual guild, since that is what Mercenaries are.
But I'm all for doing it again, but I don't think we should do it until after New Years.

Yesh, I always thought it would be fun if we could have like a hiring mercenaries thing. Like, if one guild finds they're in a bind, they can post in a special thread or something and hire a mercenary for help. Mmyes, that'd be fun, but ahh, that's not my decision. And looks like the consensus so far is that it should start in January. Which sounds good to me as well, since then we'll be all done with the holidays for a while.
