A series review!
The Petpet Detectives: Case of the Absent Anubis: Writing detective mysteries can be hard - both in general and, more specifically, in the NT. And yet, this story manages to do it brilliantly. The story is very fresh and different, the plot is original, and the mystery is actually just that - a mystery. It's not some cheesy mystery that's easy to solve, either - it actually had me guessing up to the point where the true culprit was revealed! And the truth really did catch me off guard!
It's somewhat difficult (and maybe even slightly unfair) for me to try and review a certain story in a group of stories that already have a set of established characters. That's one thing about this series - I didn't feel each of the characters in the ensemble (with the exception of Luna) was quite unique enough. This is actually a rather minor complaint - not so much something that "hurt" the story as would've "helped" it had it been more forcefully implemented. Truthfully, the story really wasn't hurt too much by the lack of more definite distinct traits for each character, though it certainly would've helped that much more.
The only other problem I had was that with the character of Damien, I didn't even know he was a royal Acara until somewhere around the third part. Up to that point, I thought he was human! It certainly would've been better if this had been pointed out earlier. Very helpful for those of us who don't know who Damien is already from reading the previous stories. Though, again, both of these issues probably more-than-likely have to do with that I haven't read some of the earlier stories in this group. So quite possibly, it could just be me.
Overall, an absolutely wonderful story. A classic example of how a mystery detective story should be written in the NT, and certainly one of the best mysteries I've ever read in there. Heck, this is one of the best stories I've read in the NT in a while! It was fresh, original, well-written, and most of all, it was interesting! It had me interested! I actually seriously, genuinely wanted to keep reading! I've not read any of the earlier Petpet Detective stories, but I sure-as-heck hope to go back and read some of the earlier ones now! Great work!

[glow=blue,2,300]Triple Negative[/glow] Haha, this was a rather funny one-panel comic dealing with the traditional “when Snorkles fly” saying. The art is very clear and smooth, which I appreciate. I love the cardboard-winged pig’s expression; such a great, happy grin! Now, I’m a little confused about the creature that appears to be a real pig dressed as the Happiness Faerie. Since the gag revolves around a semi-famous Neopianized saying, it seems that I might be missing some information on the subject regarding pigs with tied-on wings. It seems to me that since the comic is based on a Neopian irony, namely, the Faerie Snorkle, that a real-world animal doesn’t really belong there (unless it is a very pig-like Petpet that I’m not familiar with?). Having the pig there with its attention-grabbing grin and word balloon draws the reader’s eye away from the Faerie Snorkle, which, being the subject of the irony, I think should be featured more prominently. The joke is quick and light, though. I like the fact that the happy face badge is winking. Overall, it was a cute and nicely drawn comic. ^^
