Hmm, there doesn't seem to be much stuff by NTWFers in this issue. Nor in last week's issue. I know there are some pieces by NTWFers that their authors haven't requested yet, though.

Hmm...if it's not too much trouble, a review for the next part of A Hero's Journey would be appreciated. ^^ So I know how to write the sequel.
I'm so sorry if I can't review much for this issue, seeing that I'm very busy right now...

The Tale of the Darkest Faerie by shadowcristalOoh, the conclusion. THE EXCITING CONCLUSION. I think the series ended well, although there were a few hesitant twists and turns in the last part that could have been improved on. The descriptions were good, and the way the story moved was neither too fast nor too slow, but there could have been more detail in between...all in all, this is a very good non-comedic read.

Thanks ^^ I'll admit it wasn't that detailed because I wrote it more than a year ago (and they decided to hold onto it until now ) and I just thought I'd do a plain story... Though it was really too plain, as TDF didn't have so much motives. Your review will be coming up after gym class. (About two hours from now) I did sneak read a bit (since last week had the link to this week's part) and it looks really good!

Kat's review!
A Hero's Journey: Part Three
Reuben is theh ebil... *sighs* I like how you exaggerate a lot in the beginning and the way Rohane gets a little bit of success before being shoved down to the bottom of Reuben's totem pole of pride again. I like Sir Reynold... He's like the typical image of a knight, fair and wise... Though I'm amazed at Reuben succeeding that well at discouraging his younger brother. The pep talk (that's how I perceive it) is really chivalrous and sweet, and I just love the part when Sir Reynold talks about his past ^^ Hmm... Should've seen the last part coming with the tree and the window and everything. The ending is not that exciting or anything but does leave you yearning for more. I like how you show that Reuben is not totally evil, just jealous but does actually have a conscience too. I'll definitely be following this series until the very end! ^^

Behind the Mystery of the Kougra's Paw: Part Two by inanti
I rarely read series, but this one was really good and drew me in. Part one's prologued was a good extra, explaining about Fire Paw stealing the Ember. I really want to find out why. I liked the way it unrolls with every part, like we find out where he came from and his childhood. Lady Hali is a good detective. *wink*
Who's the Man? by isaiahdjkim
It was really funny, but it took a moment to realise that it was Adam. Maybe that's just me being slow... o.0

SpookyPsh, you know I always drool over your art and your comics, and virtually everything that you do for the NT, but I just can't help reviewing your comics whenever I have the chance. I'm procrastinating from studying for my Politics exam tomorrow, so I've clearly got to review this week's . You have no clue how nice it is to scroll down and see a comic I recognize in the NT these days. You know, back in the day, I'd recognize like.. at least a half, because there would be some Bucky, and some Really Confused, and all sorts of others, but lately it's been more of a variety of artists.... which I suppose is good, because they get to showcase their talents, but I sort of miss seeing all of these comics I recognize. So yours is like a glimmer of hope, ya know? . This week, for example, yours was one of the four I recognized. SO KEEP 'EM COMING . Oh, and because you keep making comics, you encourage me to keep mine going, as well, so that's nice too. Anyway... to get started with the actual review =P... One of the first things I noticed when I looked at this comic a couple of days ago was that all of the scenes were nicely tied together with the napkins. I think that does a lot... that a side sort of action that's not the focus of the comic is shown in all three... the reader can follow that nicely. Like, I scrolled up and down a couple of times just to see how the napkinnage progressed =P. As weird as that is.. or as weird as I am, or whatever =P. God.. the expressions! Yooou =P. Seriously, they couldn't be any more perfect. I can't even comment, because anything I say would be stuff I've said before. Tombstones is awesome, I'm a big fan of his. As sad as this may sound, I think he's the best-looking comic character on Neo. Just look at his pet lookup! Okay, okay -shuts up- </fandom> A classic joke... I don't mean that I've seen it, but that the entire... pacing of it, and sort of the idea of it is something I feel I've seen. Again, not that it's unoriginal, but you know what I mean =P. In fact, it made me laugh out loud. I showed it to my brother, too, and he quite enjoyed it himself . And the dialogue! Can't be put any better... I myself have trouble with that, but it really seems to come naturally to you. I also think that it's nice that you don't have a busy background, like I usually do in my comics :B. It suits your style, and I think it's important not to let it take away from the joke, and you definitely make sure that it doesn't. Hmm, what else? Heh, I don't even know why I still review your stuff xD. It's not like I ever have anything negative or constructive to say, since I can never find anything wrong with them =P.

Okay...let me see if I do this right: First with the comics, as it's late and my algebra book is leering at me. -_- Too Sane by ssjelitegirl: My favorites had to be the last two panels, just from the expressions alone. xD Apparently he's sane enough to haul out the heavy artillery...lol. Floofeh by jupeboxgal: I liked this one a lot...so cute that he was trying to be nice about it. And the Pink Kacheek was just adorable. Who's the Man? by isaiahdjkim: Okay, this one cracked me up. *has mental images of a world where Adam is president and Dr. Sloth is VP...even though he wouldn't settle for VP for long* Top Five: Darigan's by citadell: lol! Well, the panic shows through quite clearly. xD Interesting premise for a comic. I hope there will be a series of them. ^_^ *will get to series and stories tomorrow-ish* I was going to wait a while before jumping in and reviewing (seeing as how I've been a member here for about 5 seconds), but figured I'd jump on in. =)

It gives me a good idea of what I'm doing right. I know what you mean about not seeing many comic 'regulars' anymore. I guess I've almost taken it up as a goal to become one of the 'regulars' of the next generation of the NT... I dunno. Hehe, maybe when I hit 100 Spooky comics, I can say I can hold a candle to Bucky or RC. I've gotten a nice streak of comics going, I can't afford to take the 1-2 month breaks between comics anymore like I used to. Like I'm somehow obligated now to make comics every week. Weird how that works. I'm really glad you enjoyed that joke so much. For some reason, I wasn't sure if it'd work. I was a bit concerned that people might miss the vitamin connection. Like maybe everyone else's mother wasn't as vitamin-obsessed as mine. (Which still might be true, heh.) And I love the detailed backgrounds of yours, Nina. Mine aren't detailed because I'm a lazy sonofagun. XDDD It's enough that I manage to give my charas props. Heh. But speaking of your detailed bgs and stuff... Haven't seen a Smelly Nelly since New Years. Get yourself back to work, girl!

Well, like every reviewer, I'm taking this much needed homework time to do reviews! Only two comics? Odd. :/ Mkay. Me & My Mootix :3 It's a nice comic for your first one. And OH. EM. GEE. No afternote from a first comic!? GLEEEE! *throws confetti* Oh joy, you don't know how happy this makes me! It's great! The Part 1 is fine enough to tell people it's your first comic, it doesn't need an afternote! Squee! Hooray! And joy abounds! Bravo to you for showing so much comic-making maturity! Here's to many more Me & My Mootix! The joke's quite a nice one, and the panels flow rather nicely. I like how it starts with a big zoomed out picture, then zooms in closer to the Puppyblew and his closer friends. I also like the very openness of the last panel, and the placement of the thought bubble. It's all very pleasing to the eye. You have a natural knack for composition, so props to you. The hat in the third panel is also very nice. I know it's a little detail, but I'm very appreciative that the hat doesn't just disappear, like it very easily could. The epressions of the huggy and whatever that yellow petpet is are really nice. They're cute and add a lot to the comic. And yet, the Puppyblew has no expression at all. I think you were going for the simple clueless sort of petpet, yes? But I think even the slightest change in expression would've been good, since the comic's so centered around the Puppyblew and his reaction to the flea for a present. An arched eyebrow, a little frown, the head tilted a little. Something small wouldn't have been much more work, but could've added to the effect. But overall, the joke does work. Oh, and I also wanted to say I liked the color choices you used in the comic. They were really nice and cheerful and pleasant. The balloons stick out a bit, but overall, the colors were quite nice. It's often hard to pick good floor colors that don't stand out too much. So bravo to that too. I'm looking forward to part 2. Too Sane So, you say the joke wasn't your idea? Mkay, I guess I should cover that part first. I rather liked the joke, for the most part. I think it fit quite well with Shad and Saura's usual jokes, since it seems they do a lot of traveling. I would like to know how much of the final dialogue was the other person's idea. Being a parttime collaber myself, I know I like to make some drastic dialogue adjustments to scripts people send me. And it almost seems like you do the same, putting the definite Shad and Saura personalities into the dialogue that another user wouldn't have been able to capture. The line about the stamp collection was most enjoyable. My complaint about the dialogue was Barallus's insane talk. I am really not a fan of those random thrown-together words that seem too much 'teenager insane' to me. You know what I mean? I mean, that dialogue is not something a mentally unstable person would say, those are the things that teenagers/preteens who think they're 'insane' would say. Fences of Doom? Doom? Nuh uh. "Buttered Toast" is totally an Ed, Ed, and Eddy line. I hope that doesn't sound too harsh. I suppose it is an unnatural revulsion to the 'pretend insanity' I see all too often. (Even in college, sadly.) But now to the art. Glee. I'm so very fond of the expressiveness in your characters, from both facial expression and body language. It's the subtleties in mouth shape, and their eyes. Especially Shad. He seems to have that sort of almost half-manic hyena characteristic in him. Maybe it's his ear-to-ear grin. I'm not sure, but I love it. And Barallus was quite the lovable little jittery thing. It's the smile or perhaps the wide eyes. And I like how he moves about slightly throughout the comic, giving him that twitching movement you'd expect from him. Even his transition to serious-Barallus was handled quite well. Often a transition so dramatic in personality would've seemed too corny or contrived, but it flowed well. Maybe it was because he retained a bit of his mania even in his anger. Whatever it was, I love it. And I'm a big Barallus fan. :3 So love to you! n:-* Let's see, I suppose I ought to get a bit nit picky. Well, the last panel, Saura's tail is behind Shad's head. The viewer knows it belongs to Saura, because it's yellow. But visually, it feels like it's Shad's just because it's sticking up so straight. You probably didn't need to put Saura's tail in there at all. But of course, I'm being picky picky picky. :3 I doubt anyone noticed that but me. Ah, and second to last panel. This is one of those little comic/storyboard 'laws' that you learn in art classes. The camera angle switches from being in front of them to being behind them. I know you used it to show that Saura wasn't paying attention to the goingson with Barallus and Shad. But visually, it flipflops the order of all the characters on the screen. Where Barallus had always been on the right, now he's suddenly on the left, then back to the right again. This is a comic no-no. This comic was okay, because the character designs are very simple and easy to recognize, but it was close to being a bit confusing. It's nothing the reader can't sort out in a fraction of a second, but for the smallest bit of time, the reader is presented with the visual clues that say that somehow the characters switched places. They might not conciously realize it, but it disrupts the reading flow ever so slightly. ... ... Sorry about the pickyness, I suppose it's just my artclass critiquing kicking in. Overall, though, I loved the comic. Especially because it's a collaboration. If I'm being completely honest, oftentimes the people sending in collab requests don't really have comic gold in their scripts, and they feel a bit cold. That's the reason I keep my Spooky characters out of any collabs I accept. ... Of course, I'm a vain selfcentered comicker. Heh. But seriously, I love how you took a script that I'm sure wasn't super-amazing and made it into a great Shad and Saura comic.

I think that both you and I are well on our way, though. Especially you, it's not like I've had that many comics =P. But seriously, I feel the same way. -hangs head in shame- I know, I know! I've been completely horrible. I have two comics completely finished, and ready to be sent in, but I'm waiting for Leoness to get one of her comics in so that mine will make sense after hers is published. Which is why I haven't sent either in.. but it's been a long, long time. It's also because I sort of stopped making comics for a short period of time.. I had a really, really crappy two or three months, and I lost my love for basically everything. I couldn't get myself to draw, and it's as if no ideas came to me. But I've been working on my comics slightly more lately, so hopefully they'll get back to normal! I really want them to. It's nice, though, that people seem to remember my comics even after breaks. Sort of says something, eh? Makes me smile.

Ohkay, here's another ultra-long post of mine, mainly due to reviews and feedback. Thanks to all who reviewed Shad and Saura ^^ Lessee what I can say to defend myself now... Apparently he's sane enough to haul out the heavy artillery...lol. I'm actually kinda obsessed with the idea of Barallus having sane moments. My pre-last year's Art Gallery entry showed that, the one that didn't get accepted last year did that too and getting too close to an insane korbat while carrying a shiny object is a bad idea one way or another. *grim chuckle* I've never liked Boochi. Ebil little thing. I would like to know how much of the final dialogue was the other person's idea. Very little x.x; She's a good friend of mine, helped me with the original idea and many lines I couldn't come up with and generally earned the trophy fair and square. But she didn't write the dialogue. I'm a really stubborn and picky comic drawer... The stamp collection thing was hers though ^^; The other party's work @.@; I got yor idea though. And I'll keep that in mind if I manage to come up with another Barallus comic idea in the future (that and some great ideas I got from Terry Pratchett's "Interesting Times" I unfortunately got to read after I sent the comic. That guy is a genius x3). Point noted. It would actually have been hard to do it under a different angle as it wasn't only about Saura, Barallus's back would've been to the screen if I had kept the angle and I consider that a loss (it doesn't really show in the comic but when turning it upside down, this panel got Barallus's best expression. Guess it'll remain an inside joke for next generations.) *scratches head* I'll just happily excuse my way out of this with the fact that I've never taken art classes. I'm fully self-taught. Art teachers annoy me >.> Heh, atleast you get scripts I need to rely on my own little brain as the only collab script I've ever got involved Adam, asparagus and my rabid meepits and was generally corny. But the fact is that this comic wasn't a script. It was a bunch of floating-around ideas I needed to tie into a decent comic and apparently I succeeded o.O Whoa. *feels proud* Anyway, thanks for the in-depth review ^^ Yours are always really helpful. Time for reviews. Yay. Didn't think I'd get this far this week. Took me long enough... Me & My Mootix: gotta agree with Komori here. First comic afternotes are annoying. I know I was happy when my first comic got in but I still don't understand why people put these notes so it's a good thing you didn't go for that. Anyway, I loved the joke ^^ Even if I really like Mootixes and I wouldn't mind giving some to my petpets if they weren't so expensive. The art was pretty good too, seeing that it's Paint made. Could've used some shading though, it's pretty easy even in Paint and it gives comics a lot more depth. All in all, well done. Spooky: whoo! Echo! ^^ *carries on her Echo-obsession* Aw, I love that concerned look on his face :3 And Tombstones's expressions are just precious. Not to mention the plotline. Komo seems a bit stiff in the first panel though. Must be the feet. He doesn't really seem to be in motion... *tries to sketch his feet on the desk x3* Yus, the feet. Mt brother will keelhaul me now, it's his desk... o.o Y'know what the comic could use? Shadows. Not shading, your comics work out surprisingly well without shading, even for the picky detail-obsessed snake like me but atleast Komo and Tombstones could have a shadow under their feet. But still, another great comic ^^ *glances at the NT Staff Call board* And it gets sequels, right? Can't wait :3
