The Black Knight was, like so many of her companions, wandering the halls in boredom, almost hoping that some malignant being would pop up so she could fight. Suddenly, though, she heard the tread of determined footsteps going through one of the halls ahead. Hurrying forward, she caught a glimpse of Lady Tirilia, who was walking with a slightly annoyed look on her face, so lost in thought that she didn't notice Pyro following her.
Pyro remained in the back of the room as the story was told to Lady Tamia, raising an eyebrow occasionally, as her fingers drummed an impatient tattoo on the hilt of her sword. Something felt slightly off about the White Knight's sudden departure, but she supposed Lord Shino was merely nervous and anxious to discover if the Knights were in any danger.
"Remember, Scarlet Knight," Pyro said firmly, stepping forward from the shadows of the door and looking the other knight in the eye, "'tis better to seem a coward and win the war, than to be courageous and lose the battle. I don't like staying back," she added, "any more than you do," dryly, for the Black Knight was well known for her...impatience... "but if something is amiss, being prepared would no doubt be a better strategy than rushing in with no sense of what is going on." She bowed to the Orange Knight. "We should be most grateful if you added your insight, my lord. Should we alert the castle, or keep this under wraps 'til we hear news of the White Knight?"

"Please tell me we're not going to be meeting them under their conditions." she asked Rider. "They're bound to have something rotten planned." [glow=red,2,300]"That's why we're going to have something rotten planned too," Rider said, smiling. "Always have to one-up them." She looked up at the slack sails. "Geez, I miss Ikkin when she's not here. Adjust those so they catch every little bit of wind we've got!" A summons from the ninja... this couldn't be good. Before long, the pirates had docked at the harbor. "Yooodle-ay-ee-hoo! Fj0rd, Hu, Kiddo! Whomever! Come out,c ome out wherever you are!"[/glow]

"Okay, that's about long enough," Ikkin said to Salah, Ginz, and Shadow. "Any other mages who want to come will have to find their own way; they should have gotten the announcement, anyway."
Ikkin turned to Sev, who was waiting a bit impatiently, his tail twitching. "Okay, Sev, it's time for you to do your thing."
"Time for me to be your own personal teleporter, you mean?" the phoenix asked dryly. "Hold on tight, this might feel a bit strange if you're not used to it." Sev made sure that everyone had a hand on him, and then transported them all to Tabloid Town instantly in a flash of fire.
"Yooodle-ay-ee-ho! Fj0rd, Hu, Kiddo! Whomever! Come out, come out wherever you are!" Ikkin heard Rider call as the group blinked back into existence in Tabloid Town harbor.
"Rider?" she asked. "Do you have any idea what's going on here?"

Shadow sighed. Perhaps her long hiatus from the mage guild was a little too long - Ikkin had forgotten that Sev could not transport a shadow. Shadow would have to travel the long way - fortunately, Sev had left a magic trail strong enough for her to follow -
And follow she did.
Fortunately enough for her, the speed of darkness travels at the speed of light (if it traveled slower, what would be left in the space between 0_o?) - Shadow arrived in time to hear Ikkin and Rider's conversation - and also notice a white weewoo perched on a nearby branch.
That's odd. White weewoos away from the forest?

Tirilia fixes a scornful glare on the Black Knight. "Is it also customary for a Knight to eaves drop?"
She returns her gaze to Tamia "Lord Shinobi told me the King would know what to do if he did not return.. I have searched everywhere, but I cannot find him. I do concur with Lady Pyro, it would be to our advantage if we knew what our strategy was to be... although, the White Knight gave orders that the fewest possible Knights should be informed... I am not certain why he requested this."

Even though she switched back and forth between flying and walking, Omni still had to stop and rest on occasion. She had wondered if the mages were going to leave all at once through teleportation or something, but only after she had walked quite a ways down the road; meaning that if she did turn back and happened to be late, she would have to travel the distance all over again. She was still okay with going the long way though, it was good excercize and good flying practice, and every bit of distance she traveled still brought her that much closer to the 'Bloids even if it was slow.
Tabloid Town came into sight before the day was over, she was flying as she approached and decided to try to land somewhere elevated, like an awning or a tree. She spotted a tree and made a gradual decent toward it. She didn't land all too gracefully, but she still made it. There happened to be a Weewoo in the same tree; it looked at her curiously, she smiled back. She tried to spot any other mages; she didn't have to look long though, she could tell that Shadow was there. "Hi Shadow," she said, looking in Shadow's general direction. "Do you know where any other mages are?"

"Silly Omni," Shadow's eyes managed to soften in amusement, "Everyone's right here - can't you see them? And you needn't scrutinize me so - I can appear in the third dimension." An eye winked.
It must have been a REALLY long time since Shadow had been back.
((I wasn't aware an entire day had passed since we'd left and arrived xD))

Omni wasn't sure whether the wink meant Shadow was trying to hint at something, or if it meant she was joking. Looking around, she tried to see the others, but there was an awning in the way. She dropped down to the ground. "Ah, there they are. What say check out what's going on?"

Post by Trilly (18426 words) on Feb 20, 2007 20:53:33 GMT -5
"I can't believe this is happening to me again" Tralira Pirul, or Trilly, as she liked to be called, gasped between puffs of air as she raced through the corridors of Castle Kestrel. "This is all your fault, Feather." The small fairy clutching Trilly's bright red hair was outraged. "How is this my fault, oh brainless human?" he fluttered his wings indignantly. "You've had quarters in this castle for three days now, and it's only just occurring to you that you should've maybe spent your time getting to know your way around instead of hanging those ridiculous shiny scarves on your wall?" Trilly stuck her tongue out. "I'm making my quarters feel like home first, then I'll work on the technical stuff like finding my way around, okay?" she stopped to catch her breath. "Where is everyone?" Feather sighed, letting go of his friend's hair and fluttering on wings the thickness of gossamer. "They're probably all on duty and whatnot, where you should be." he flared his ears. "Sounds like there's someone just down the corridor to the right." "Thanks!" Trilly said, mentally cursing herself for not hearing the voices sooner. Lynx ears had to be at least as effective as fairy ears, right? She began to jog again, but her foot caught the hem of her gown and she sprawled flat on the floor. "Ugh, how very undignified for the Ivory Knight," she muttered from her position on the stone tiles. Feather grinned. "We said goodbye to dignity a long time ago." He glanced thoughtfully at Trilly. "You might want to wear slacks next time."

[glow=teal,2,300]The blue haired knight greeted the stable as she took his horse. He had been assigned to update Sir Shino on the siege. Things were not going badly, nor were they getting an edge over their enemies. A stalemate.
Sir Kit had sent him as a runner to relay the message to Sir Shino. However, the strangest thing happened on the way back to the castle: an arrow had been fired at him bearing a scroll wrapped around it.
"All knights are to report to Tabloid Town," as it was written on the scroll. Sir Leo could not see the archer, so he stuffed the message in his pocket and continued his journey to the castle. He would probably tell Sir Shino about the message too when he got there.
Sir Leo asked the guard where was Sir Shino, but found that he had left to Tabloid Town.
"Hmm... guess I won't have to give him the message after all," thought the knight. "But I think I should give my report to His Majesty" he decided as he entered the corridor to the throne room. [/glow]

Lady Zari stared at the space where the shruiken had been, then glared at her cat. 'I saw that coming. I didn't want you losing that strategic head of yours.' 'I should find the Ninjas and push you over there. You'd be helpful.' 'Not my fault I utilise what looks like a katana.' said the cat. 'That little dragon whose name is spelt N-A-L-I-X-A but is pronounced Naleeza has a message from your parents in Krahia.' 'Life stinks. Just when Things start getting interesting I get another hysterical letter.' Zari collected herself, and set off, humming softly, down the hallway.

((As far as I can tell, Fj0rd went around throwing shurikens at the pirates, mages and knights to tell them to all go to Tabloid town as there was something they all needed to know. The pirates have already docked there, the mages I think are following Ikkin to get there, I dont know what the ninjas are up to, and Shinobi went alone on behalf of the knights. Thats about where its up to))

"What about the mages and the knights, eh? D'you think they got summons from those ninja too?" She squinted throughout Tabloid Town before whipping out a spyglass instead.[/shadow]

"The mages did, at least," Ikkin said, walking up to Kat. "Some ninja threw a shuriken with a note on it, the same thing that happened to the pirates, from what Sev told me. "I'd imagine the knights have probably been told as well, but I haven't been to the castle since this started, so I wouldn't know. I suppose I could send Sev to check that out, if you wanted me to."
Sev grumbled. "Why do I always have to go everywhere for you? You should have known there'd be problems when you joined three groups in the first place." Ikkin just glared at him. "Okay, fine, I'll go check," Sev said. And with that, he disappeared in a flash.
A few minutes later, he reappeared. "It seems the knights have also been summoned, though they seem unsure of whether or not they'll actually go. From what I heard, Shino told them that he'd go, and no one else should follow. It's sounding awfully suspicious to me."
"Thanks, Sev," Ikkin said. "I wonder what's up with Shino?" she asked. "I'm starting to get a bad feeling about this..."
