The door opened and Shino almost got hit by another knock as a servant started talking loudly, "I heard that Lady Tirilia is looking for you, Master Shino!" "Slow down, Grimes." Shino said as he held the old man up. "I can attend to her immediately. Are you all right?" "I'm fine, master Master Shino. Just a lot to do today in the Castle. If you don't need me I'll be on my way." the man said as he rushed out almost as fast as he had come in.
Shino watched him leave and gave a little wave as he grabbed a little bag and hooked it to his belt as he closed the door behind him. He walked calmly down the hallway and then saw Lady Tirilia walking about as briskly as the old servant had.
"Lady Tirilia!"

"Lord Shino." She greets him, her voice sounding somewhat relieved but as calm as ever. She curtsies briefly and offers the shuriken to him. "My Lord, Lady Zari and I came across this in east wing. It appears to be from Mistress Fj0rd." She allows Shino to read the message for himself and after a moment she adds in a mildly cool tone "Shall we be attending these summons?"

Salah dashed into the room with Ikkin and Ginz. Her shadow flickered in and out of existence as the light clinging to her struggled to follow it. Light didn't like shadows. Which meant Salah didn't either. Darkness felt almost dirty to her, and she didn't get how anyone could stand having a shadow hanging on them all day long.
They couldn't have left already... Oh, there they were. Salah stopped, giving herself a second to catch her breath.
She addressed Ikkin. "We're going to Tabloid Town? Is there some emergency or something?" Salah wasn't happy with the thought of going to the tabloids - she could hear how loud they were just by passing by. She almost added, 'Do we have to?', but stopped, realizing how whiny that would sound.

Ever since she'd had to admit to the crew she was a werewolf, Keng had been unable to slip out of the assorted worst jobs you could possibly get on a pirate ship that come with being swabby. For example there was the seemingly endless deck scrubbing that had to be done, which she was doing at the time. Her hands were becomming pruned from all the soapy water. Hmm.. it's strange that a pirate ship would have soap of any kind on it. she chuckled to herself.
The deck was beggining to get noisy though with undisguised whispers. Apparently the Ninjas, their greatest rivals had requested to meet them. The upset to the ship's routine provided the perfect excuse to take a break, and ask questions about it along with everyone else.
"Please tell me we're not going to be meeting them under their conditions." she asked Rider. "They're bound to have something rotten planned."

"Hey, Salah," Ikkin said as the Zafara ran up to her. "I don't think it's an emergency, just an invitation by the ninja. But they said to have all the mages come to Tabloid Town, so..." She trailed off.
"We'll be off shortly," she said a few seconds later. "I just want to make sure there's no one else in the Manor who might want to come along first."
((OOC note: I'll be waiting for one of the other groups to make it to Tabloid Town, then I'll take off, in case any mages are wondering how much time they have left to take my offer. Otherwise, you'll have to find some other reason for being there.))

Shinobi listened as Lady Tirilia explained about the note & read the note. He read the language & understood it's meaning, although not the reasoning behind it. He estimated that he and Lady Tirilia were the about only ones who knew about it, besides Lady Zari, & could also translate it as a summons. "I don't want this ninja, Fj0rd, to stir up trouble with the Knights. And I do not think it wise to go to this "summons" with all the Knights." Shino said.
"I will go alone & I do not wish anyone else to go. If there is a trouble and I do not return then King Wolf will know what to do. See that you do not spread this around let news out." Shino insisted and bowed before Lady Tirilia and walked briskly away feeling shame for turning a back on a lady wityhout giving her a chance to reply. But he couldn't let time waste away.

She listens patiently to Shinobi, nodding her agreeance until he claims that he will go alone, at that point her eyes flash with a brief scarlet glaze before returning to normal. "My lord!" she calls aloud, her voice clearly angered by his idea before she follows him, catching up quickly and matching his pace step for step. She throws him a sharp glance. "Sir I do not think that is wise. I will keep it between ourselves and our King but you will not go alone. I demand you allow me to accompany you... " she stops "Please.."

Shadow had been listening and watching, as usual. The shuriken smelled of mischief - her curiosity was immediately piqued.
"Ikkin, I am here." Shadow slipped into her physical form and approached Ikkin with palms up in an offering of peace. "Let me follow you - the ninjas are always full of surprises. It would help to have one of your own."

"I'd be honored to accept your assistance, Shadow," Ikkin said with a smile. "One such as yourself could always be useful if something unexpected were to happen, due to your unique abilities."
She paused for a moment before continuing. "But, since you are a ninja, do you have any idea what the purpose of this invitation might be? Or have you not been informed about whatever is going to happen?"

"Information is highly valuable and highly dangerous. If I were to give you any now, someone would have to pay dearly for it." Shadow's eyes narrowed. "But the price does not vary with the contents - your secrets are as safe with me as those of the ninja."
The Shadow slipped into Ikkin's silloughette and stretched a bit to settle into her new form.
"Rest assured, Ikkin," the mage heard her shadow whisper from the ground. "All will be revealed in due time."

Surprised, was an understatement when Lady Tirilia ffollowed him and matching his pace. "No!" Shino yelled as he stopped abruptly. He had a face of worry & shame on his face now as he bowed before her once again. "You cannot go with me, Lady Tirilia. It is my duty as the White Knight to scout ahead. If I should require assistance I shall send word." Shino said vehemently, "I am not without skill, you know."
He palced his hands on her shoulders and looked into her eyes. "I'm sorry for yellign at you. It is not my place to do so ever." Shino said as he let a look of anguish escape. "Please do not inform anyone of my leave. No one can know where I go."

Salah blinked in confusion, trying to process what Shadow had just said. What was she trying to imply? That she kept secrets... or that she couldn't be trusted by any? (The light mage instinctively distrusted her, but she knew that just because someone was a shadow didn't mean they couldn't be trusted. After all, shadows probably felt that way about her, right?) The Shadow had refused to share information, but still...
Her thoughts were interrupted as the shadow being, as naturally as if she did it every day, became Ikkin's shadow. Salah's eyes widened, and she automatically took a step back, throwing a quick protective glance to her own lack of shadow. It's a useful form of magic, Salamander realized, thinking how good a disguise a shadow would make. But it also would make it easier for Shadow to go unnoticed, overhearing information. For the mages' benefit, or others'...
"Rest assured, Ikkin. All will be revealed in due time." Once again, Salah's mind set to work, comparing this with Shadow's earlier comment. Ikkin seemed to trust Shadow without a doubt, and there was no reason for her to go against her opinion... But how trustworthy could this... being really be?

Tirilia takes a step backwards, surprised at Shinobi's sudden outburst of anger but her eyes narrow right back at him. About to object again, she stops when she finds his hands on her shoulders. Her eyes soften again. Deafening silence the length of heartbeats fills the hall.
At last she demurely lowers her eyes from his and nods "As you wish my Lord..." She steps back once more, causing his hands to drop from her shoulders. "I shall wait with King Wolf" she draws herself up again, all empathy abruptly gone from her expression. "Forgive me for disrespecting your will Sir" she adds in a mildly hard tone as she drops into a brief curtsy. "We shall await your word. May the Spirits be with you, my Lord"

Shino felt her words hit him in blunt submission and he nodded at her in thankfulness, although he did not look directly at her. He couldn't now. He had broken his morals to protect his secrets.
What a fool I am...
Shino turned and walked down the hallways and arrived at his door and opened it. A breeze of col air hit him, sommewhat distinguising his anguish & humiliation now. He couldn't bear t olook at Lady Tirilia again. How faithful she was to the cause. But he couldn't let her discover his connection to the Ninjas. At all costs he would fight to protect that loyal side of him.
He swung his Blue Dragon Spear off the wall and grabbed his white cloak he had tucked away under his bed. Folding it out he put it on himself and untied the hidden sash under hsi belt and made it into his usual mouth-to-chin mask. Putting his hood up he made sure the bag he had hooked onto his belt earlier was still in place. Good, he thought, I am ready.
And with that...the White Knight simply dissapeared.

Having faithfully given her word, she resisted all urge to follow Shinobi and stormed away to find Wolf. This however, did not stop her from feeling the magic ripples from Shinobi's vanishing act. At first she ignored them, allowing them to become lost in her angry thoughts, she didnt notice them until they had almost faded entirely, and then she stops, turning back to face the direction she had last seen him. But by then, all ripples had faded and vanished as well, leaving her no path to follow. Tirilia bit her lip hard enough to draw blood and turned her back again, resuming her resolve to inform King Wolf.
A little under half an hour later, she finds that the Green Knight, their King, cannot be found anywhere in the castle or the grounds. Returning to the throne room, she finds Tamia, who informs her that the King has left her in charge in Shino's absence.
"Very well... Then you must know this Lady Tamia".. after a polite curtsy, she proceeded to inform her of all that had happened since finding the shuriken. Leaving out the details of her debate with Lord Shinobi, she adds that the White Knight took it upon himself to investigate and would send word.
"Milady, I do not like the idea of waiting here, we should seem as Cowards" she almost hisses, having fully recovered from her earlier submissive state "But what choice do we have?"
