(Finally reads through 14 pages of replies to get to the good part).
Ohhhkkk! I think we can count me in on this. As I'm reading this and mulling it over, here's my ideas for what to do:
As said earlier, make it a series, with one person per episode.
Two, we of course work out the "plot" ahead of time
and for the "plot", it goes like this: everyone becomes interested in Chet for their own reasons. Each of you know your character, ask yourself what logical fact would put them on the case? (For instance, intelligence agencies could be trying to find if he's a spy.) Then they hunt.
Yes, they come up dry, but it's pointless if that's all that happens- so here is the point: we need to figure out scenes and events so that the perceptive reader will realize that the reason "Chet" exists is because everyone is looking for him!
Think about it: MonoKeras is trying to chase down the rumor. He goes to an ice cream parlor, and asks the clerk there. He drops a comment about something he'd heard about Chet, and then another detective comes in and gets that supposition/rumor repeated to them as fact. After this happens enough times, it's obvious everyone is chasing each others' tails, so to speak, and if Chet exists, no one has a clue because no one can separate the rumors that they're starting themselves from the facts.

Hmm... I can have dark be hired,.,, he refuses to go into cases that he isn't paid to do.

Right, MonoKeras is in much the same position. So next we need to figure out who the clients are, and why they want to find Chet!
And as for crashing into each other, just be thankful that Detective Lupe isn't a STONE Lupe anymore!!!

LOL... I think it would take some very strong brandy butter to bring dark around after that,,, even if he is a little dense. Dark:I take offense to that., Megz:  Whatever dark. Dark's clients are usually redheads for some reason or another... so I think a change of colour would be nice... oh! Jhudora would work WONDERS! she could think Chet is an evil villian like her and want to form an alliance with him using Dark as a pawn. |

Hmmm well Jhudora hates MonoKeras' guts ( read "Slimed" to find out about that www.neopets.com/newnt/index.phtml?section=6589&week=51) I've come up with a bright idea (I think) for how to start the ball really rolling: MonoKeras is trying to find Chet in the neonet records. He can't get access to the "private" list of pets, so he tries entering a fake creation record to see if the name is taken (it isn't)... then he cuts it short. But the fake creation is still there as evidence for the other detectives and agencies.... and I think we might want to do that anyway- I could do it on a second account, start to create a pet named Chet_Flash and then quit before I specified any data. That way, if someone got the bright idea of creating Chet for themselves, the name is taken- and if they look, they just get an egg graphic with "not yet born" Comments, anyone? |

I've typed up a short story about dark's past... and in the xmas story I mentioned he used to be a good hacker... so he could probably find a way around that...

Creating Chet_Flash is a good idea, but should be done in an empty account. Something like username: so_your_curious, pet: Chet_Flash and then something mysterious in the description. What do you think?
As for the series, I could write one of the parts with one of you and have my pet hire one of the detectives. I think HS could be interested in knowing who Chet is since she curious as heck. Then we could do a little role-play thing to get their dialogues and all that.

Hmm... role playing might not be a bad idea at all to get the plot line out and stuff. OF course when your muse is a 6 year old with a tommy gun it's best to roleplay.

I just had an idea as to why my characters would be involved. I think it's good, but you can be the judge.
When a mysterious "Chet Flash was here" logo appears in Legionnaire's lab, he starts to think Chet's a spy sent to infiltrate his lab and steal the information he stores inside. After this paranoia accelerates a bit, Legionnaire forces Bluey, Dragoon, and Gatling to go out and find just who this joker is.
But that's just about all I have right now.

What do you think? The problem is that you would have to PICK a pet species, etc. for that account. Even invisible pets have a species name. Nothing exists with either chet_flash, chet-flash, or chetflash, BTW. |

Yes, that's a problem... But it would really *really* suck if someone created a Chet_Flash pet... What if we have four pets, or more, one named Chet, the otehr Flash, Chet_Flash, Chet-Flash, chetflash, etc, etc in diferentr accounts and make them all diferent species? That would be confusing. =)

LOL... that would help/... so here's my mini plot for dark night's side
Dark's hired by Jhudora (oH! he's got a crush on her...) to find/track chet down. Juhodra thinks Chets some sort of super villian and beleives she can twist dark into doing her will.
This will be in 3rd person perspetive.

Okay, here's my problem: Magnolia isn't a detective. With that in mind, I don't quite know who would hire her to track Chet down unless I can think up a logical reason why the agency would want to.
Creating Chet_Flash before someone else caught on would be great. I think that hippiesoul's idea of making different ones on different accounts would be perfect.
