I currently have an Evil game in progress. ^^ (Slow progress, but still. XD) Last time I played I got to Happy Valley, so it shouldn't be too long until I finish Terror Mountain. ^^

I'm on level 42, but I think I should go back and level up a bunch more. I don't have any group shielding points, which is pretty bad, so I think I need to go overlevel a bit. Does anyone have some suggestions for where I should level to or not? I was thinking back to the Cave of Dark Things, then back through the non-haunted house a bit. o_____________o well no wonder you had such difficulty with them! XDDD Recommended level for them is like... 45 for Normal difficulty. You'll definitely have to train, since Hubrid Nox + Esophogor (Esoph. expecially, not sure about Nox..) hit very hard when you're underleveled. xD Though, props to you for getting past Spider Grundo + Four Faeries at such a low level! =D I could never do that myself on any difficulty. xD ...That explains it. XD So, I should put my next points in Group shielding, right?

You can ^^ Depends if you want Velm hasted/defence boosted and whatnot. ^^; Or what you already have maxed xD -- In other news.. =D =D =D =D Congratulations! You have beaten NeoQuest® II on InSaNe! difficulty! You are awarded a NeoQuest® II trophy... ...as well as 50,000 neopoints! I beat InSaNe!!!!! ^_____^ I got a Sword of Apocalypse X3 Not what I wanted (preferably Wand of Reality or Bow of Destiny) But better than Staff of Righteous Fury XDD So yes! I'm happy. X3 Terask II was actually a good sport about it. He took a lot of Mipsy's Obliterates =D And yes! I now have full bragging rights. ^_^ If anyone else needs my wisdom, I'm available. =D Now I think i'm gonna wait to play again 'cause I'm going to miss Rohane's 160 critical. ;_; *cry*

That's quite impressive. Let's see... I maxed Velm out in Group healing and Celestial hammer, and got everything else in Innate Casting haste. I'm starting to regret celestial hammer a bit...

Hubrid Nox on insane? Yes/No, and if yes what advice would you give?
And Icon, are you on hunting mode for normal walking around? Stay on hunting mode until the first boss in level 5! It's slow moving, but you need it. I'm on level 44, and I'm in the swamp just before the cave of dark things (I've been on hunting mode since some time in act 3)
Wow, Nova, congrats! =D You did it!

Remember that Nox is an optional boss. You can choose to take him or not - and more often than not, it's going up his tower that makes him such a nuisance rather than the actual battle. See, at some point you're going to run into groups of Hands of Nox capable of casting Obliterate - and believe me, they have a strategy. More often than not, they'll target Mipsy first and eventually everyone else, and you may use a resurrection potion or two during your climb.
First of all, you have to see if you're willing to take that risk - it will be a lot of hassle on InSaNe if your party members are constantly dying, even if they don't die all at once.
Second, as for Nox himself, your usual strategy for beating him should do; just be more watchful of your health bar. Velm should devote himself ENTIRELY to defense unless the party is at full health, at which point use his turn to lob a damage potion (you should have some in your inventory at this point).
Your alternative to fighting Nox is levelbusting in the Goo Bog, which can get boring (and icky, as you're facing fungus and slime monsters). If you're scared to take that crazy Chia on, it's fine. It's not like you'll be penalized or anything. I believe I skipped him on InSaNe.
Congratulations, Nova! =D Yes, you do get bragging rights.

Well I fought Nox on InSaNe and my advice is to you.. don't do it. XDD;; If you really really really want extra bragging rights, go for it: it's a tough challenge, harder than TerasK II on InSaNe but it's possible :3 I differ from Kat when I say that Nox is tougher than the way up there, at least the way I did it. xD The monsters aren't too bad if you walk really quickly up the stairs and stay on normal. If you hunt.. well, let's just say you won't be on hunting very long after the base level XD; Make sure you have resurrection potions. As Kat said, Nox and Nox's monsters loove Mipsy. >>; And if any of your party members die in that horrid tower.. well, surely you can't take Nox and it's enough of a hassle going up with all your members, nevermind going down with an entire quarter of your party gone or more. As for Nox himself.. he heals. A lot. The first move he made with me was heal. And he consecutively heals too, so slowing him down is an absolute must. (I restocked on slowing pots again after I beat the Four Faeries) Keep him slowing down at all times too - if you think the potions about to expire throw another one. I forget if Rohane can stun him, but I'm pretty sure Talinia's shockwave gets through him, so make sure you have points in that ^^ A stunned Nox is a good Nox. :3 It -will- get frustrating, take a look at my post when I dealt with him on the previous page. XD But if you hate training in the Goo Bog and wanna go for ultimate bragging rights, I wish you all the best in your journey. :3 Oh! And be at a good level too :3 48/49 is pretty good, and you should be nearing that anyhow after beating the Four Faeries on InSaNe ^^;

I decided to fight Nox for the heck of it after I easily beat the Four Faeries. I thought he was going to be like any other boss...then I got my tail handed to me on a silver platter.
xD
He's crazy. DON'T FIGHT NOX.

I didn't fight him on InSaNe, so I wouldn't know how hard he is. He was pretty easy on Evil though, but that was only one game, so that probably wouldn't be accurate... xD However, as I stated, I skipped him, because I didn't feel he was worth it. Being that far along and then possibly getting killed honestly wouldn't be the best idea. ^^; Oh yeah, and about the area right outside Nox's tower: DO NOT HUNT! As Kat stated earlier, the Hands absolutely love targeting Mipsy. After she's down, they take on Velm. Once I had both of the spellcasters dead, and Rohane and Tally had to drag them back to the haunted house and rest. <.<; Silly me didn't have resurrection potions at the time. I survived, but don't make the same msitakes as I did. xD Okay. I'm finished now.

I BEAT NOX ON INSANE =D
It's actually not that bad at all- I'd recommend it to people ^^ Yes, he's awful in that he heals himself- you can get him down to red and he heals back to green again! But he's not at all dangerous, I don't think any of my party dropped to yellow, and Velm wasn't even healing that much.

I beat Gebarn II today. I can't wait to get Velm tomorrow. ^_^
And then after I finish my Evil game I'm thinking of trying NQ1. But first I have to finish, we'll see how long that takes. XD

Everything gets so much easier after you get Velm--I love not having to wander around to restore health once you've gained his healing powers. I'm around Level 20 on NQI, in the Jungle Ruins somewhere... I should really finish that game. XD

Omigosh, someone with a positive experience. xD Yeah, he's not too bad for hitting if you're at a decent level, but if you don't have enough slowing potions.. he'll quickly heal himself up and then do damage at you. So slowing pots are absolutely needed. xD Anyhow, I am playing NQI! =O I'm just doing it for the trophy and better understanding of the game and Ancient Neopia. =3 Though I really do like the Reflex option.. I wish it was in NQII. XD; And I'm currently Level 9, training and making my way to Xantan =) EDIT: You blast Xantan the Foul for 11 damage! You defeated Xantan the Foul! This guy was easier than the Sand Grundo on NQII. He missed the entire time. Good grief. XD;
