either I am very lucky, or no one sees fit to send me hate mail, because I only got one ever, and that was within the first week I ever got something up into the times, and doing the calculations, is about a year ago for me...
It was someone who got angry because in my story a gelert backed away when he saw Zarrel with a dagger. It was a very minor part, and had nothing to do with the story, and yet it was what the kid decided to hate mail me about.
He went on for awile about how his gelert would kick all my pets' a** and how his gelert would never back away, and all this other crud about his gelert and how it was all mighty and powerful.
Of course most of it was in chatspeak, so I couldn't unnderstand much, but even so I got enough of it to reply to him:
Well, first of all, that gelert wasn't YOUR gerlert, he was a totally different one. The eason he backed away was because he, like any other creature with common sense did not think attacking another with a weapon when he had no weapon of his own was a good idea, and so backed off. Though if it makes you feel better, you can pretend that the gelert was a coward unlike YOUR gelert.
Secondly, why waste your time hate mailing me about a part that has no significance in the story. Even I could have found a better thing to hate mail myself on. So if you are going to insult me, do it with something that will actually bother me.
Of course I never did get a reply from the kid... I wish I had saved the mail, it was actually funny^^

I wish I had Karma whenever I get a hatemail...heehee. Hatemails don't make me sad or make me want to cry, they just make me angry...like I wanna punch someone in the face...mostly the moron who sent it to me...
Karma didn't mention a rare breed of flamer, the "FlameScammer" they're very unsuccessful at their trade...here's an example:
FlameScammer:: U SUCK!! U THINK UR SOOOO GOOD JUST BECASUE YOU HAVE A LOT OF NT TROPHIES! U DON'T EVEN PLAY NEOPETS THAT MUCH!!!!!!1 LOOK AT HOW MENY GAMES TROPHIES I HAEV!! U SHULD JUST GIV UR ACOUNT 2 ME SO IT ISNT WAISTED ON SUM 1 LIKE U!!! JUST GIV ME UR PA$$WRD SO I KAN GET U SUM GAME TROPHEIS.

Yeah, people like that are just stupid... Like if they insult us we will believe it good to send them our password.
I wonder what catagory of mail something like this would go under...

Thank Fyora I haven't gotten one like that before. Although I do remember once on an old account and before those under 13 couldn't chat in the BattleDome and before I quit two-player BattleDoming, I was fighting some weird guy of whom kept on calling me a cow or something like that, and when I asked him why, he replied, "Because I love you." *shudders a lot* Really scary people out there....   |

I refused (politely) and then the next day they IM me again saying "This summer when I come to Florida maybe i can visit you!"...eh..I dunno if I want to meet someone who I've talked to (was more of a one-sided coneversation anyways) only twice...  ; |

I've gotten a couple of those. It usually consists of, "Hey do (you/Melody/Sabreur) have a (boyfriend/girlfriend)?" I just don't reply. |

What state do you live in?" I lied. Maybe I'm just overly paranoid, but that scared me just a little... I've also had some of those that are so worshipful that it's no longer flattering but just frightening... one of the few instances in which I don't answer b/c I really have no idea how to respond... |

I guess I'm pretty lucky too...never got anything like that, either hate or worshipful-fan letters. The worst I get is something along the line of: "hi i saw u storie in the time will u b my neofrind pls" *shudder*
Although there was this girl that NeoMailed my brother (Sentroy) after I featured him in one of my stories. She wanted to know his real name and age. I suspect this was because she was...*ahem*_interested_ because neither me nor my cousins (who were also in the story) got NeoMails from this girl. Out of my two cousins, one is female and the other is too young to get NeoMail. At any rate, the mail got deleted. My brother does not deal with people like that.

Here's a new classic exchange: them: can you give me some np, i'm really poor. I gave them my usual beggar response, something like: Sorry, but I don't give out handouts to anyone. If you need NP, try playing games-- you can have fun and also earn it for yourself, which will ultimately be much more satisfying than having someone just hand it to you.them: but I don't like the games on neopets that much, so can you just give me 1000 or 500np or something like that? thanks. I couldn't help but ask what they were doing playing Neopets if they didn't like *any* of the games, but I think I still remained fairly polite, especially considering that I was getting a bit annoyed. And I reiterated that there are other ways to get NP too, and I was sorry, but I just don't give out handouts to anyone, period. Then this...them: first, neopets is more that stupid games. second i don't need your hadouts i need np and if you dont want to give np to me then stop sending me neomails or i'll block you and report you to the neopets team. Correnction, i already did! get lost.  I know I shouldn't let stupid things like this get to me, but still...
