Ooh! Next lesson please! Any tips on how to tell the difference between the different types? Obviously, treating an I'm-better-than-you flamer the way you would want to treat a jealous flamer or an angry flamer would not have quite the desired result.

Example of an angry flamer (typos pending)-- "U SUK!! UR PETS R UGLY AND UR ARTWORK/WRITTING STINKS!!! I BET U DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT 2+2 IZ AND UR DOG LIFTS HIS LEG WHEN U WALK BY!!!! LOOSER!!!!!!!!!!
Example of a holier-than-thou flamer -- Well I can tell by your writing style that you honestly have no idea what you're talking about. And oh please, do you REALLY spell "Kyrii" with only one "i"? For someone who's writing articles about how much they hate chatspeak, you should really practice what you preach and stop wasting people's time. You should go back to school and learn to spell better so some of us won't have to tolerate you. ((insert other pissy and nitpicky attacks at your grammar and punctuation and then a faglicious block))

Ah, I see. I have yet to get an angry-flamer contact me, but I have gotten one "holier-than-thou" flamer (which, unfortunately, I deleted) and one of what appears to be a jealousy flamer. It was for "My 100% No-Fail, Guaranteed Method for Dealing with Rejections" article.
"u said in ur article about rejection. how many times were u rejected? it seems like it would be a lot, and ur article just got n cause they were sry 4 u."

I've gotten a jealousy (I guess, but it could have been angry or just plain too honest) flame which they sent numerous times to bug me more--the same exact message of "your article sucks! Who cares!?!" The other flame I've ever received...well, it doesn't really fit into anything...maybe holier-than-thou. It was:
"interesting that a girl that speaks against evil and violence with such conviction could be a darigan apprentice, a comment?"
That irked me. A lot.

I've never understood people's obsession with the war alliances. Both sides have a very good point, if anything the Meridell people are the evil ones (if you nitpick about it, but we don't need to get into that). Besides, I didn't care much for the circimstances of the war. I could see a mile away that Dargian had the orb stolen, blah blah blah. I just switched from Meridell to Dargian to get more points. ^_~; |

I can't believe those people who have personalized it so much that they're attacking folks and/or automatically hating them just for what side they were on. |

I got lots of hate mail from my poorly written article on Darigan--of which I'm not surprised, but I don't know what possessed me to send it in. *Shame* My feeble excuse is I had writer's block... note the key word 'feeble'. There are also people who will just flame you for stating an opinion. I wasn't writing that article based on my opinion, rather I was trying something new and coincidentally, it helped me practise for my English exam--I'm sure I did horribly on that too. -.^
There was one person who was trying to scold me too. It was quite pathetic really, and she didn't get her facts straight. Or she assumed that I fought for Darigan. She started rambling on about something like 'I noticed you fought for Meridell, then why do you like Darigan? Or did you switch sides just to gain points? How dare you!' Which brings me to the quote "Don't assume. It makes an 'ass' out of 'u' and 'me'. More often 'you' than me...
